With the emergence and spread of Christianity, many basilicas were built in Anatolia. The early period basilicas were generally designed in the same form by the masters of the period. There are no pastophorium cells in these basilicas. They usually appear as structures with a simple rectangular narthex. Our main problem is to evaluate these basilicas from a mathematical point of view. At the beginning of the questions to be asked about these basilicas, did every master apply the mathematical operation exactly? Did the masters build these structures by continuing the traditional method or did they do it with a good knowledge of mathematics? What kind of differences do basilicas built from region to region? This study, which we have discussed, asks the question of the effectiveness of traditional methods as well as mathematical methods when building basilicas. The question of whether architects adhere to mathematical methods and how important traditional methods can be for them is emphasized. Moreover, our study deals with how the early period basilicas are proportionally related. At this point, the churches were determined and the results were obtained

Modelling and simulation studies on adaptive controller for alt-azimuth telescopes despite unknown wind disturbance and mass

Numerous ground-based observatories are using small sized ground telescopes for scientific research purposes. The telescopes that are available on the market have three main problems. These issues can be listed as: positioning repeatability, tuning requirement according to different wind speeds for different seasons, and the mass changing via different scientific equipments added to the telescope. This study is aimed at resolving these issues for ground based small alt-azimuth telescopes. Establishing of a set and forget system is performed by designing an adaptive controller. Motor dynamics are taken into consideration for a realistic mathematical model. The Wind-Gust model that consists of a sum of sinusoidal disturbances with unknown phase, amplitude and frequency is used for the wind model. The purposed controller cancels the disturbance effects on the plant while operational positioning and also the makes the plant insensitive to mass changes. The Lyapunov approach is utilised when proving the asymptotic stability. The proposed controller’s success is illustrated with thorough numerical evaluation. The authors would like to thank the technical guidance and funding support of Isik University, Center for Optomechatronics Research and Application (OPAM),and Ataturk University Center for Astrophysical Application and Research (ATASAM). Background SCUBE 1-has been used as a biomarker for the diagnoses of myocardial infarction, stroke, mesenteric ischemia, and gastric cancer in some recent studies. In this study, we investigated the relationship between serum SCUBE-1 levels and return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) in patients who received cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Methods Patients over 18 years of age who were not pregnant and received CPR were divided into two groups: those who achieved ROSC and those who died. There were 25 patients in each group. SCUBE-1 and other routine biochemical parameters were studied in blood samples taken at the time of admission. Results There was no significant difference between the age and gender distribution of the patients between the two groups. The SCUBE-1 value of the ROSC group was significantly higher than that of the non-survivor group ( p ˂ 0.05). At a cut-off value of 9 ng/mL, SCUBE-1 had a sensitivity of 100%, a positive predictive value of 65.8%, specificity of 48%, and a negative predictive value of 100% in predicting ROSC. Conclusions The SCUBE-1 values were found to be significantly higher in the ROSC group compared with the non-survivor group

Within the framework of Lausanne Treaty in 1923, Turkey and Greece necessitated their citizens/cognates to emigrate for the sake of “religious belief”. Approximately 2 million people were displaced within the scope of this implementation named as Lousanne Population Exchange. During The Population Exchange, approximately 500.000 Muslims came to Turkey, and there were also Pomaks who speak Bulgarian, Patriyots who speak Romaic, Albanians who speak Albanian and various Muslim groups who speak a mixed dialect of Greek and Turkish languages. The subject of this analysis is to study refugee Patriyots who came from Greece, especially the ones who settled in the villages of Çatalca such as Karamandere, Kestanelik, Karacaköy, Çiftlikköy, Elbesan (Small Athens) Muratbey, Kaleiçi and Ovayenice. The basis of this analysis stems from the fact that the refugee Patriyots have not been studied so far. In this analysis, it is attempted to determine and evaluate the Patriyots’ ceremonies such as birth, wedding, death, and oral cultural products and material cultural elements by using the negotiation and compilation techniques

WOS: 000382751900019Enteropathy-associated T-cell Lymphoma (EATL) is a rare, but fatal complication of celiac disease. EATL may occasionally present simultaneously with celiac disease. In most cases, the clinical features of EATL are very similar to celiac disease in the initial stages, which usually leads to a late diagnosis. EATL is primarily observed during the sixth decade of life in patients with celiac disease who have no diet restrictions. In this article, we describe the diagnostic features of a case of EATL that was identified in a patient with celiac disease

Consumer protection has gained importance in recent years, and today has become one of the most discussed issues. The legal system protection of consumer emerged from the second half of the twenty century onwards. In Turkey, some laws protecting consumers went into effect in the Republican Era. In the 1982 Constitution, it was reported that it is a constitutional duty of the State to protect the consumers. Thus, this process has gained a considerable momentum through "Consumer Protection Law", which came into force in 1995, No. 4077. It is therefore possible to relate this process with Akhism Organization, which was implemented successfully in the Ottoman Empire in order to protect both manufacturers and consumers. In this study, we tried to deal with the likely effects of the Akhism Organization on the protection of consumers today

YILDIZ, Kader/0000-0001-5802-6156WOS: 000472627700008The aim of the study was to determine the genotype of Toxoplasma gondii isolates obtained from sheep naturally infected. Genotyping was performed on the sheep isolates (n: 10) using multiplex multilocus nested PCR-RFLP at nine loci (SAG1, SAG2, c22-8, L358, 5'-SAG2, 3'-SAG2, SAG3, BTUB and PK1). Toxoplasma gondii isolates originated from sheep possessed multiple alleles at the same loci. The isolates (n:8) showed alleles of clonal type H and III at two loci (alt. SAG2 and SAG3), type II allele at the locus (c22-8), type I and III alleles at the locus 5'SAG2 and type I and II alleles at the locus L358. type I/III alleles at the locus 3'-SAG2. One isolate showed alleles of type I at four loci (alt. SAG2 and L358), type II allele at the locus c22-8 and type I and II alleles at the locus BTUB, type I/III alleles at the locus 3'-SAG2. One isolate showed alleles of type III at three loci (SAG1, alt. SAG2 and SAG3), type II allele at two loci (c22-8 and L358), type I/III alleles at the locus 3'-SAG2 and type I and II alleles at the locus STUB. Genotyping may provide knowledge on infection route of T. gondii in people. To the author's knowledge, it is the first report on genotyping of T. gondii isolates originated from sheep in Turkey. Genotyping of isolates obtained from different hosts and from various regions will contribute to achieving the important knowledge about infection routes and clonal types of T. gondii in Turkey
