Cytokine-Induced Killer Cells As Pharmacological Tools for Cancer Immunotherapy

    Get PDF
Cytokine-induced killer (CIK) cells are a heterogeneous population of effector CD3+CD56+ natural killer T cells, which can be easily expanded in vitro from peripheral blood mononuclear cells. CIK cells work as pharmacological tools for cancer immunotherapy as they exhibit MHC-unrestricted, safe, and effective antitumor activity. Much effort has been made to improve CIK cells cytotoxicity and treatments of CIK cells combined with other antitumor therapies are applied. This review summarizes some strategies, including the combination of CIK with additional cytokines, dendritic cells, check point inhibitors, antibodies, chemotherapeutic agents, nanomedicines, and engineering CIK cells with a chimeric antigen receptor. Furthermore, we briefly sum up the clinical trials on CIK cells and compare the effect of clinical CIK therapy with other immunotherapies. Finally, further research is needed to clarify the pharmacological mechanism of CIK and provide evidence to formulate uniform culturing criteria for CIK expansion

Investigation of the Association Between Bovine Serum Albumin(BSA) and Aluminum Tetrasulfonated Phthalocyanine(AlS4 Pc) by Fluorescence Anisotropy

    No full text
Fluorescence anisotropy was employed for the investigation of the association between AlS 4Pc and BSA.The average binding number of AlS 4Pc to BSA was calculated and the constants of association reaction occurring in the medium of pH 7 0 were shown. The results revealed that the interaction between AlS 4Pc and BSA was strong, which implied that AlS 4Pc may be stored and transferred by serum albumin. The merits of the method used were also pointed out.国家自然科学基金!(批准号:29775021)资

Effect of total flavones of buckwheat flowers and leaves on protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B expression in type 2 diabetic rats

    Get PDF
The total flavone content was obtained from flowers and leaf of buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum Moench) by heating reflux method. The effects of the total flavone extract on the protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP1B) expression in type 2 diabetic rats were evaluated by immunofluorescence, western blotting and real-time quantitative PCR. The results suggested that the total flavone fraction from buckwheat flowers and leaves can significantly decrease the PTP1B expression in liver.Colegio de Farmacéuticos de la Provincia de Buenos Aire

A colorimetric and fluorescent merocyanine-based probe for biological thiols

    Get PDF
A new "dual-mode" chromogenic and fluorescent turn-on probe (2) for the selective sensing of biological thiols is reported. In MeOH-H2O cosolvent at physiological pH 7.40 (MeOH-H2O = 3:7), biological thiols cleave the 2,4-dinitrobenzenesulfonyl group to release the chromo-and fluorophore merocyanine (3).National Natural Science Foundation of China [20675067, 20835005]; NCET of Fujian Province of Chin

Rhodamine thiospirolactone. Highly selective and sensitive reversible sensing of Hg(II)

    Get PDF
A novel rhodamine thiospirolactone chemosensor 1 was found to develop prominent absorbance and fluorescence enhancements in the presence of Hg2+ in aqueous solution and this was suggested to result from the thiospiro ring opening induced by Hg2+ binding

Land rebound after banning deep groundwater extraction in Changzhou, China

    Get PDF
More than 30 years groundwater overdraft had resulted in hydraulic head declined from near the ground surface to 85 m deep in the second confined aquifer (CA2) in Changzhou, and lead to regional land subsidence from 1970's to early 2000's. After banning deep groundwater extraction was banned in 2000, the hydraulic head of CA2 had recovered to 37.6 m in Changzhou by the end of 2013. Based on several stages first and second order leveling results and long term monitoring data from the multi-strata borehole extensometer station (BES), it was revealed that the land subsidence is attributed to the compression of both aquifers and aquitards in the porous aquifer system. The spatial characteristics of subsidence are related not only to hydraulic head pattern in the area, but also to the thickness and compressibility of different soil strata, and distance from the aquifer. Since banning deep groundwater extraction, the ground uplifted 37.22 mm (5.4% of the pre subsidence) at BES, Changzhou due to the hydraulic head recovering. Strata compression and rebound was recorded as: the upper most stratum, and the underlying aquitard of CA2, and the upper CA3 are still in the compression process, the lower CA3 layer and the upper most segment of aquitard of CA2 rebounded about 90% of the pre compression recorded since 1984, and the CA2 and its adjacent overlying aquitard rebounded 3.8%–9.7% of the pre compression. © 2017 Elsevier B.V
