    TIC 172900988: A transiting circumbinary planet detected in one sector of TESS data

    We report the first discovery of a transiting circumbinary planet detected from a single sector of Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) data. During Sector 21, the planet TIC 172900988b transited the primary star and then five days later it transited the secondary star. The binary is itself eclipsing, with a period P ≈ 19.7 days and an eccentricity e ≈ 0.45. Archival data from ASAS-SN, Evryscope, KELT, and SuperWASP reveal a prominent apsidal motion of the binary orbit, caused by the dynamical interactions between the binary and the planet. A comprehensive photodynamical analysis of the TESS, archival and follow-up data yields stellar masses and radii of M1 = 1.2384 ± 0.0007 Me and R1 = 1.3827 ± 0.0016 Re for the primary and M2 = 1.2019 ± 0.0007 Me and R2 = 1.3124 ± 0.0012 Re for the secondary. The radius of the planet is R3 = 11.25 ± 0.44 R (1.004 ± 0.039RJup). The planet's mass and orbital properties are not uniquely determined-there are six solutions with nearly equal likelihood. Specifically, we find that the planet's mass is in the range of 824 M3 981 M (2.65 M3 3.09MJup), its orbital period could be 188.8, 190.4, 194.0, 199.0, 200.4, or 204.1 days, and the eccentricity is between 0.02 and 0.09. At V = 10.141 mag, the system is accessible for high-resolution spectroscopic observations, e.g., the Rossiter-McLaughlin effect and transit spectroscopy

    Marijuana’s effects in humans are most often reported as intoxicating or therapeutic; yet, some humans report dysphoria or other negative affect. To evaluate whether differences in endocannabinoid levels might account for this variability, the present study examined whether sensitivity to cannabinoids changed when anandamide (AEA) metabolism was inhibited through administration of phenylmethyl sulfonyl fluoride (PMSF) a non-specific irreversible amidase inhibitor. Male Long Evans rats were trained to discriminate 3 mg/kg Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) versus vehicle in 2-lever drug discrimination procedure. ED50s for THC and CP 55,940 were lower when administered with PMSF than alone. PMSF administration also potentiated characteristic cannabimimetic effects of THC in ICR mice. Potentiation of AEA’s in vivo effects by PMSF were also observed, primarily as a consequence of PMSF inhibition of the enzyme fatty acid amide hydrolase. Enhancement of the effects of THC and CP 55,940 through this mechanism is unlikely, as these cannabinoids are predominantly metabolized through the P450 system. Mass spectrometry revealed that, in the presence of THC, endogenous AEA levels in the brain decreased and that this decrease was prevented by PMSF, suggesting that increased AEA levels may have acted additively with exogenously administered cannabinoids to increase cannabimimetic effects. These findings may account for the varying affect in response to marijuana in humans or cannabinoids in animals while also suggesting that metabolic inhibitors of AEA may potentiate marijuana’s intoxicating effects in humans

    Immunohistochemistry reaction (Peroxidase anti-peroxidase - PAP) was carried out on fifty-two skin biopsies from leprosy patients with the purpose to identify the antigenic pattern in mycobacteria and to study the sensitivity of this method. Five different patterns were found: bacillar, granular, vesicular, cytoplasmatic and deposits, classified according to the antigenic material characteristics. Deposits (thinely particulate material) appeared more frequently, confirming the immunohistochemistry sensitivity to detect small amounts of antigens even when this material is not detected by histochemical stainings.<br>Foi realizada reação imunohistoquĂ­mica (Peroxidase anti-peroxidase-PAP) em 52 biĂłpsias de pele de pacientes com hansenĂ­ase com o objetivo de verificar quais os padrĂ”es antigĂȘnicos das micobactĂ©rias e estudar a sensibilidade deste mĂ©todo como auxĂ­lio diagnĂłstico da hansenĂ­ase. Foram encontrados cinco padrĂ”es diferentes, classificados como bacilar, granular, vesicular, citoplasmĂĄtico e depĂłsitos, de acordo com a caracterĂ­stica do material antigĂȘnico. Os depĂłsitos (material finamente particulado) apareceram com maior frequencia confirmando a sensibilidade da imunohistoquĂ­mica na detecção de pequenas quantidades de antĂ­geno, cujo material nĂŁo Ă© mais visto por coloraçÔes histoquĂ­micas usuais
