Textual Condensation in Printed Dictionaries. A Theoretical Draft·

This article presents an excerpt from a theory of lexicographic texts which deals particularly with dictionary articles. Almost all characteristics of dictionary articles considered as typically lexicographic may be regarded as results of textual condensation processes. A theory of textual condensation in lexicography thus makes it possible to analyse the lexicographic textual condensation from a uniform perspective; it allows us to calculate exactly the degree of textual condensation, it contributes to the construction of a scientific predicate user-friendlier as, and gives us insights which will make the formulation of dictionary articles more teachable. The theory consists of two parts: a partial theory of inner and a partial theory of outer textual condensation. The first part explains in which way textual condensation may be understood as a process leading from a full text (a text shOwing complete cohesion and explicit syntax) to a condensed article text (with addressing as syntax substitute and dependence on a inetatext). With respect to a monosemous lemma sign, the textual condensation process goes through only one stage, to be exemplified here. With respect to a polysemous lemma Sign, there is a second stage, including shifts to the left. Certain article types with certain microstructures such as the annexed microstructures may go through a third stage of textual condensation, accompanied by shifts to the right. The second part of the theory deals with the condensation processes which regard the carriers of the guiding element and which, inter alia, lead to reference articles and lemma clusters. Finally, attention is drawn to a different form of textual condensation regarding the proportion of printed characters in relation to the total printed matter

Eine neue Adressierungsart: Positionsadressierung bei indexikalischen Angaben und funktionalen Angabezusätzen

Nachdem die wichtigsten Begrifflichkeiten aus dem metalexikographischen Diskurs über Adressierung in den letzten 25 Jahren kurz in Erinnerung gerufen wurden, wird als neue Adressierungsart die Positionsadressierung von indexikalischen Angaben, wie z.B. Silbentrennungsangaben und Angaben der Abtrennbarkeit bei Partikelverben, sowie die von binnenerweiternden funktionalen Angabezusätzen, wie z.B. Auslassungs- und Versendekennzeichnungen, eingeführt. Weiterhin wird die Hypothese vertreten, dass auch nichttypographische Strukturanzeiger positionsadressiert sind. Die Annahme der Positionsadressierung trägt zum genaueren Verständnis der Informationsgewinnung des Benutzers-in-actu bei. Abschließend wird darauf hingewiesen, dass die Berücksichtigung der Positionsadressierung zur Differenzierung von Artikeltextstrukturen beiträgt, auf deren Trägermenge eine Adressierungsrelation definiert ist.Stichwörter: Indexikalische angabe, angabeadressierung, angabezusatzadressierung, positionsadressierungEnglish AbstractA New Type of Addressing: Positional Addressing at Indexical Items and Functional Item Additions. Following a brief reminder of the most important concepts from the metalexicographic discourse of the past twenty five years, a new type of addressing is introduced. This is the positional addressing of indexical items, e.g. items indicating syllable division and items indicating the detachability of particle verbs as well as that of functional item additions, which expand items internally, e.g. omission and end of verse indicators. The hypothesis is further presented that non-typographical structural indicators are also positionally addressed. The supposition of positional addressing contributes to a more precise understanding of the information retrieval of the active user. Finally it is shown that the consideration of positional addressing contributes to the differentiation of article structures where an addressing relation is defined with regard to their structure-carrying set.Keywords: Indexical item, item addition addressing, item addressing, positional addressin

Condensación textual lexicográfica: esbozo de una concepción integral

[Resumo] Todo artigo lexicográfico elaborado segundo estándares de condensación pódese considerar un condensado bimembre resultante de aplicar procedementos de condensación textual a un texto íntegro. Isto explica a maior parte das propiedades xenuinamente lexicográficas dos textos dos artigos dos dicionarios impresos. O cálculo do grao de condensación permite comparacións entre dicionarios e vai contribuír á avaliación da facilidade de uso e á planificación de textos lexicográficos.[Resumen] Todo artículo lexicográfico elaborado según estándares de condensación se puede considerar un condensado bimembre resultante de aplicar procedimientos de condensación textual a un texto íntegro. Esto explica la mayoría de las propiedades genuinamente lexicográficas de los textos de los artículos de diccionarios impresos. El cálculo del grado de condensación permite comparaciones entre diccionarios y contribuirá a la evaluación de la facilidad de manejo y a la planificación de textos lexicográficos.[Abstract] Dictionary articles following condensation standards can be conceived of as two-place condensates resulting from the application of textual condensation procedures to full texts. This accounts for most of the genuinely lexicographic properties of texts in the articles of print dictionaries. Über die konstruktion einer hierarchischen textverbundgesamtstruktur. Ein beitrag zur theorie der Wörterbuchform

Nach einem kurzen kritischen Einblick in die Forschung zu Textver-bundgesamtstrukturen in den Jahren 1988 bis 2016 wird zunächst ein Ausschnitt aus einer Typolo-gie von Textverbundtypen und hierarchischen  Textverbundstrukturen präsentiert und kommen-tiert. Nach einer terminologischen Erörterung, insbesondere zum Begriff der lexikographischen Konstituente, wird als Beispiel eine hierarchische Textverbundgesamtstruktur mit rechtserweiterter Textverbundstruktur so schrittweise konstruiert, dass ihre Teilstrukturen, nämlich die hierar-chische rechtserweiterte Textverbundkonstituentenstruktur, ihre hierarchische konstituentenlose Vor- und Nachspannstruktur, ihre hierarchische Wörterverzeichnisstruktur und ihre hierarchische Artikeltextstrukturen getrennt konstruiert und dann zusammengefügt werden. In diesem Prozess werden eine Reihe neuer Begriffe geprägt und zugehörige Termini eingeführt, wie z.B. Vor- und Nachspannsektor, hybride Vor- und Nachspannkonstituente, vorderer Vorspann und hinterer Nachspann. Weiterhin wird überlegt, da Wörterbücher und  Gebrauchsgegenstände mit lexikographischen Formeigenschaften immer  mindestens eine äußere Zugriffsstruktur aufweisen, ob und wie wenig-stens äußere alphabetische Hauptzugriffsstrukturen bei der Konstruktion von hierarchischen Text-verbundgesamtstrukturen berücksichtigt werden können.
