Studies that emphasize the importance of the evolution of human rights in Western countries and their deployment in Brazil must include the exploitation of child labor. This is a recurring theme in academic and socio-political discussions, over the centuries, through its facets and dimensions in today's society. This article aims to analyze child labor in Brazil. Therefore, in its first part, it traces elements about childhood and the world of work, followed by a brief historical review of child labor. It also brings some aspects of national and international law evidencing the rules pertaining to the topic

O estudo assenta-se nas concepções de justiça de John Rawls e na condição de agente de Amartya Sen para dialogar com as questões de gênero e a equidade nas relações intrafamiliares. O estudo desenvolvido pelo método bibliográfico-investigativo evidenciou que é preciso ampliar as liberdades positivas das mulheres, atribuindo-lhes condição de agente para cessar com os ciclos de violência e opressão que as acompanham desde o nascimento, bem como reconhecer a aplicação dos princípios da liberdade igual e da diferença nas relações intrafamiliares por meio de ações afirmativas e políticas públicas com vistas a ampliação das liberdades substantivas das mulheres

CULTURA MIDIÁTICA, INFÂNCIA E DIREITOS FUNDAMENTAIS: REFLEXÕES ACERCA DE AÇÕES AFIRMATIVAS NO BRASIL

O presente artigo tem por objetivo analisar algumas das ações afirmativas no decorrer da primeira década do século XXI no sistema público de incentivo à cultura midiática desenvolvida e produzida para as crianças como mecanismo de concretização do Direito Fundamental. Também aborda elementos que envolvem as políticas públicas na esfera federal, especialmente as fomentadas pelo Ministério da Cultura – MIC – levando em conta o universo infantil e a cultura midiática considerando a positivação deste direito nas diversas categorias sociais, conferindo caráter fundamental ao direito à Cultura, explicitando, extensivamente, a justificativa para a adoção da categoria direitos fundamentais para abrigar, no Brasil, o direito à Cultura. Assim, ao nomear o direito à Cultura como Direito Fundamental, aponta-se o papel dos gestores públicos na necessária adoção de políticas claramente delineadas e eficazes para sua efetividade através de ações no decorrer do período do ano 2000 até 2013

A Eficácia Horizontal dos Direitos Fundamentais na Jurisprudência do Tribunal Regional do Trabalho da 4ª Região (Rio Grande do Sul)

This  article  analyzes  the  use  of  the  horizontal  effect  of  fundamental  rights  in  the jurisprudence of the Regional Labor Court, 4th Region, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. It seeks to define effectiveness of fundamental rights in its vertical and horizontal dimensions, the doctrinal theories about the horizontal effectiveness of such rights. Later, shows the recent case law of the court in the pursuit of decisions that expressly affirm the horizontal effect of fundamental rights in relations between individuals directly and immediately, as fundaments and reasons to decide. The methodological procedure is the analytical and interpretative bibliographic research and jurisprudential analysisO  artigo  analisa  a  utilização  da  eficácia  horizontal  dos  direitos  fundamentais  na jurisprudência do Tribunal Regional do Trabalho da 4ª Região, Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. Também busca definir eficácia dos direitos fundamentais, em suas dimensões vertical e horizontal e as teorias doutrinárias a respeito da eficácia horizontal de tais direitos. Posterior apresenta a jurisprudência recente do tribunal regional laboral, na busca de decisões que, expressamente, afirmem a eficácia horizontal dos direitos fundamentais nas relações entre particulares  de  forma  direta  e  imediata,  como  fundamentos  e  razões  de  decidir.  O procedimento  metodológico  é  o  analítico-interpretativo  de  investigação  bibliográfica  e análise jurisprudencial

HISTORIOGRAPHY OF POLISH IMMIGRATION: A PROSPECTIYE ASSESSMENT OF THE STUDIES ABOUT RIO GRANDE DO SUL - BRASIL

This article presents an analysis of the studies on Polish immigration in Rio Grande do Sul, placing them in an the interethnic context, which firstly, is specific to this host society, and secondly, affects both the visibility of different groups and the intellectual production about them. The works are in part authored by the descendants of the immigrants from the group itself, i.e. by those who are recognized and who recognize themselves as "Polish". This study also aims at reviewing some interpretations of this historiography, emphasizing certain factors, such as: the economic developments in the occupied areas and the role of the urban immigrants; the frameworks of comparative studies on the German and Italian people; the influence the immigrants' states of origin had over the communities; and the presence of ethnic Jews among the Polish people
