In the era of digital technology, the development of information technology and art culture helps to enhance artistic creativity through digital technology. New forms of art emerge from the parallel between art and "digitization": This article discusses digitization in artistic creativity, and theoretically discusses and summarizes the creativity generated by the integration of artistic ideas and digital art in the current digital era in China. Digitization is a brand new mode of production and economic form, which has become an im-portant standard of modern economic development. At the end of 1980s, the rapid development of digital technology and information technology made digital art appear in the world. Based on computer and Inter-net technology, it has created a space for digital development, and provided a new platform for artists to create digital art in all aspects of digital technology and application ability. At present, digital art is growing into a new art form in the art and creative industry of the 21st century

BackgroundPre-eclampsia and eclampsia are among the major threats to pregnant women and fetuses, but they can be mitigated by prevention and early screening. Existing observational research presents conflicting evidence regarding the causal effects of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on pre-eclampsia risk. Through Mendelian randomization (MR), this study aims to investigate the causal effect of three COVID-19 severity phenotypes on the risk of pre-eclampsia and eclampsia to provide more rigorous evidence.MethodsTwo-sample MR was utilized to examine causal effects. Summary-level data from genome-wide association studies (GWAS) of individuals of European ancestry were acquired from the GWAS catalog and FinnGen databases. Single-nucleotide polymorphisms associated with COVID-19 traits at p < 5 × −8 were obtained and pruned for linkage disequilibrium to generate instrumental variables for COVID-19. Inverse variance weighted estimates were used as the primary MR results, with weighted median and MR-Egger as auxiliary analyses. The robustness of the MR findings was also evaluated through sensitivity analyses. Bonferroni correction was applied to primary results, with a p < 0.0083 considered significant evidence and a p within 0.083–0.05 considered suggestive evidence.ResultsCritical ill COVID-19 [defined as hospitalization for COVID-19 with either a death outcome or respiratory support, OR (95% CI): 1.17 (1.03–1.33), p = 0.020] and hospitalized COVID-19 [defined as hospitalization for COVID-19, OR (95% CI): 1.10 (1.01–1.19), p = 0.026] demonstrated suggestive causal effects on pre-eclampsia, while general severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection did not exhibit a significant causal effect on pre-eclampsia. None of the three COVID-19 severity phenotypes exhibited a significant causal effect on eclampsia.ConclusionsOur investigation demonstrates a suggestive causal effect of genetic susceptibility to critical ill COVID-19 and hospitalized COVID-19 on pre-eclampsia. The COVID-19 severity exhibited a suggestive positive dose–response relationship with the risk of pre-eclampsia. Augmented attention should be paid to pregnant women hospitalized for COVID-19, especially those needing respiratory support

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has fueled anti-Asian, especially anti-Chinese sentiments worldwide, which may negatively impact diasporic Chinese youths\u27 adjustment and prosocial development. This study examined the association between compassion, discrimination and prosocial behaviors in diasporic Chinese youths during the COVID-19 pandemic. 360 participants participated and completed the multi-country, cross-sectional, web-based survey between April 22 and May 9, 2020, the escalating stage of the pandemic. This study found compassion as prosocial behaviors\u27 proximal predictor, while discrimination independently predicted participation in volunteering, and could potentially enhance the association between compassion and charitable giving. These findings suggest that prosociality among young people is sensitive to social context, and that racial discrimination should be considered in future prosocial studies involving young members of ethnic and racial minorities

Tree ring δ18O reveals no long-term change of atmospheric water demand since 1800 in the northern Great Hinggan Mountains, China

Global warming will significantly increase transpirational water demand, which could dramatically affect plant physiology and carbon and water budgets. Tree ring δ18O is a potential index of the leaf-to-air vapor-pressure deficit (VPD) and therefore has great potential for long-term climatic reconstruction. Here we developed δ18O chronologies of two dominant native trees, Dahurian larch (Larix gmelinii Rupr.) and Mongolian pine (Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica), from a permafrost region in the Great Hinggan Mountains of northeastern China. We found that the July–August VPD and relative humidity were the dominant factors that controlled tree ring δ18O in the study region, indicating strong regulation of stomatal conductance. Based on the larch and pine tree ring δ18O chronologies, we developed a reliable summer (July–August) VPD reconstruction since 1800. Warming growing season temperatures increase transpiration and enrich cellulose 18O, but precipitation seemed to be the most important influence on VPD changes in this cold region. Periods with stronger transpirational demand occurred around the 1850s, from 1914 to 1925, and from 2005 to 2010. However, we found no overall long-term increasing or decreasing trends for VPD since 1800, suggesting that despite the increasing temperatures and thawing permafrost throughout the region, forest transpirational demand has not increased significantly during the past two centuries. Under current climatic conditions, VPD did not limit growth of larch and pine, even during extremely drought years. Our findings will support more realistic evaluations and reliable predictions of the potential influences of ongoing climatic change on carbon and water cycles and on forest dynamics in permafrost regions

A Multiphase Strategy for Realizing Green Cathodoluminescence in 12CaO·7Al2O3–CaCeAl3O7:Ce3+,Tb3+ Conductive Phosphor

A multiphase strategy is proposed and successfully applied to make the insulating green phosphor CaCeAl3O7:Tb3+ conductive in the form of 12CaO·7Al2O3–CaCeAl3O7:Ce3+,Tb3+. The phosphor shows bright green-light emission with a short lifetime (2.51 ms) under low-voltage electron beam excitation (3 kV). The green photo- and cathodoluminescence from 5D4–7FJ (J = 6, 5, 4, 3) transitions of Tb3+ are significantly enhanced in comparison with pure C12A7:Tb3+. It was confirmed that this enhancement is the consequence of the joint effects of energy transfer from Ce3+ to Tb3+ and broadening of the absorption spectrum of Ce3+ due to the existence of multiple phases. In particular, under 800 V electron beam excitation, cathodoluminescence is improved by the modified electrical conductivity of the phosphor. When compared to the commercial Zn2SiO4:Mn2+ with a long luminescence lifetime of 11.9 ms, this conductive green phosphor has greater advantage for fast displays

Since 1843 the anticonvulsant properties of Cannabis are known by the Western science. In 1980, clinical trials have shown that cannabidiol has antiepileptic activity in refractory epilepsy patients, with drowsiness as the only side effect. The embargo imposed by banning medicinal Cannabis use, however, harmed scientific development and the exploration of these properties. However, there is a growing number of successful cases of illegal use without guidance for the treatment of syndromes characterized by epilepsy and regressive autism. The results corroborate scientific evidence that indicates the existence of common etiological aspects between autism and epilepsy. Studies in animal models have confirmed involvement of the endocannabinoid system. These advances indicate the beginning of a revolution in the understanding and treatment of these disorders
