    Parmenides’ Unspoken Worship of God

Although Parmenides’ doctrine of Being offers a reason for overcoming the difference between the human and the divine, structure of his poem lies in this difference. The author approaches the reasons for why Eleatic philosopher needed mythos and verses to express his insight that only Being is by coming close to the thesis that coherence of Parmenides’ poem has been preserved by the possibility that it was conceived as the highest expression of the tensions characterizing human existence. Any human can think identity of being as human and divine, but this thought he cannot make part of his world. The difference could continue to be overcome only by keeping silence about the divine as divine

There Is No Revolution without Reformation. Hegel\u27s Understanding of the Relationship between State and Religion

Hegel\u27s words from the Encyclopedia of the Philosophical Sciences, that a revolution is not possible without a reformation, can be understood as the general warning that the change within the inner world of beliefs of individual and community must precede every radical political change. Historically more precise, these words point to the Reformed Christianity as the inherent impetus to the modern revolutionary movements. The religious liberation of conscience preceded the political liberation, and Hegel, therefore, points out Protestantism as the highest form of religiosity which is possible in the modern ethical life. On the other hand, Hegel favours Protestantism not only because he is convinced that the religious reformation preceded and must precede the revolution, but also because he considers that with Protestantism becomes evident that the reformation of religion remains incomplete and abstract if it does not grow into the political upheaval. Considering the way Hegel is problematizing the nature of the relationship between state and religion, the author concludes: there can be no revolution without a reformation, but neither a true reformation without a revolution

Interleukin-17 (IL-17) is a proinflammatory cytokine produced mainly by activated CD4+ and CD8+ T cells, while its specific receptor is ubiquitously distributed. The inflammatory capacity of IL-17 is based on its ability to stimulate a wide range of stromal cells to produce and release a number of proinflammatory mediators, some with a known impact on hematopoiesis particularly granulopoiesis. Recent data indicate a role for IL-17 in the pathogenesis of several inflammatory diseases, transplant rejection and tumor growth. The purpose of this study was to determine functional responses including the respiratory burst, nitric oxide (NO) production, adhesiveness and metabolical activity/viability of human peripheral blood leukocytes (total white blood cells, mononuclear cells and granulocytes) from healthy donors in the presence of recombinant human (rh)IL-17. The obtained results showed that rhIL-17 did not induce significant changes in the respiratory burst, NO production, and metabolical activity of each peripheral blood cell fraction the tested, while a slight increase in phorbol-12-myristate-13-acetate (PMA) stimulated adhesiveness of granulocytes and mononuclear cells was noted. The absence of significant changes in tested functional activities of various peripheral blood cells suggests that IL-17 does not express its proinflammatory ability in steady-state, since the requirement for its action really does not exist.Interleukin 17 (IL-17) je proinflamatorni citokin koga produkuju aktivirane CD4+ i CD8+ T ćelije, dok je njegov receptor ubikvitarno distribuiran.

The subject of this paper is the analysis of the content and legal nature of the concept of good administration, perceived as an 'amalgam' of legal and non-legal principles guiding the activities of the European Union administration and administrations of its Member States. After providing a brief overview on the origins and historical development of the concept of good administration, the author focuses on the main elements of its content. In this regard, particular account shall be taken to illuminate the important components of the concept of good administration: legality, expediency, regularity, justice, equity, as well as morality. The legal nature of the concept of good administration will be discussed by casting more light on its legal aspect while acknowledging the existence of non-legal elements. In brief, the following text attempts to explain the inner meaning of the 'European' concept of good administration and to underscore its significance in the context of administrative activities of the European Union institutions, Member States and potential member states of this unique community of European states

Transcendental philosophy within perspectives of the romantic fragmentariness

    Get PDF
The relation of Jena romantics to Kant’s transcendental philosophy could be considered from the point of view of the romantic theory of the fragment. The author claims that fragmentariness had a transcendental character in the philosophical ref lections of Friedrich Schlegel and Novalis. That is the reason that they have acquired the opportunity of approaching to the immanent tension of Kant’s philosophical project. The problem of ref lection of relation between systematicity and incompleteness of knowledge and of man’s theoretical and practical side is among the most important. The author tries to evaluate the importance of Fichte’s version of critical idealism for romantics, considering the crucial romanticists’ intention of historization of transcendental idealism with the help of the fragment. Final chapter refers to recent interpretations of the romantic fragment which tend to ignore this intention

The key problem of water utility companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the fight to reduce the level of non revenue water (NRW) is the lack of a unique methodology with clearly defined steps. The aim of this paper is to show the possibility of accepting the concept for the control of water loss in water supply systems, which provides the International Water Association (IWA), and based on the analysis of the effects of the application of water utility companies adopt the recommended practices as an essential step for the analysis of its water supply system, with the aim of providing quality services, creating their own concept of self-sustaining and achieving customer satisfaction. Regarding the fact, a research was conducted with the aim of determining the level of non revenue water in utilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. One part of the survey involved assessment for the 20 water utility companies with different characteristics, while the second one is related to the measured data from 7 water utility companies. The analysis of the effects of IWA methodology application for reducing water loss was carried out by experimental measurements on a separate part of the water supply system defined as a district metered area (DMA), in Bosnia and Herzegovina

The aim of the paper was to explore the significance of family and peer support for metabolic control of Type 1 diabetes in adolescents. Metabolic control refers to maintenance of acceptable blood glucose level thus diminishing risk for chronic complications. It involves regular insulin shots, measuring blood glucose and keeping diary, as the daily based self-control. Regular visits to endocrinologist and screening for chronic complications are compulsory. The sample comprised 79 adolescents age 10-17 years with diagnose of Type 1 diabetes and properly treated at the institute. The sample was divided in two groups - with good (N=40) and poor (N=39) metabolic control. A criterium for good metabolic control was glycosilated hemoglobin less than 7,6%. Social support was measured by Social Support Scale consisting of two parts - the first for estimation of registered family support (based upon modified Perceived Social Support Family Scale) and the second for estimation of registered friends' support (modified Perceived Social Support Friend Scale). Adolescents with good metabolic control referred statistically more significant social support in the family, unlike the group with poor metabolic control. Considering peer social support, there was no statistically significant difference. Positive family history for diabetes also appeared to be directly linked to good metabolic control

Techniques of the tympanomastoidectomy with reconstruction of the posterior bone wall of the external auditory canal

A combined tympanoplasty method, the mobile-bridge tympanoplasty, has been applied at the Clinic for Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases in Novi Sad since 1998. Mobile-bridge tympanoplasty is performed at our Clinic by applying Feldmann’s procedure utilizing a microsurgical oscillating saw. It is a combination of closed and open techniques for surgical treatment of middle ear diseases. In addition to this technique, a method for reconstruction of the posterior bone wall of the external auditory canal was introduced. This procedure is applied in cases of damage or impairment of the bony ear canal wall using mastoid cortical temporal bone graft or modeled cartilage of the concha. Maintenance of general anatomical relations in the middle ear enables good ventilation of pneumatic spaces of the middle ear and Eustachian tube permeability, thus providing good conditions for ossicular chain reconstruction. The incidence of recurrent cholesteatoma in combined mobile-bridge tympanoplasty and tympanoplasty with reconstruction of the posterior bone wall was 6% in total. The incidence values for the recurrent cholesteatoma in closed tympanoplasty and in cases of open techniques were 10%. Mobile-bridge tympanoplasty and reconstruction of the posterior bone wall of external auditory canal are methods of choice in surgical treatment of middle ear cholesteatoma that progressed to the attic space, sinus tympani and facial recess
