An ectomycorrhizal fungus may decrease the susceptibility of Pinus sylvestris to the native pathogen Heterobasidion annosum but not to the exotic H. irregulare
First direct observation of a nearly ideal graphene band structure
Angle-resolved photoemission and X-ray diffraction experiments show that
multilayer epitaxial graphene grown on the SiC(000-1) surface is a new form of
carbon that is composed of effectively isolated graphene sheets. The unique
rotational stacking of these films cause adjacent graphene layers to
electronically decouple leading to a set of nearly independent linearly
dispersing bands (Dirac cones) at the graphene K-point. Each cone corresponds
to an individual macro-scale graphene sheet in a multilayer stack where
AB-stacked sheets can be considered as low density faults.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figure
Species recognition in Pluteus and Volvopluteus (Pluteaceae, Agaricales): morphology, geography and phylogeny
Plasticity in the trophic niche of an invasive ant explains establishment success and long-term coexistence
A phylogenetic and taxonomic revision of sequestrate Russulaceae in Mediterranean and temperate Europe
The role of basiliximab induction therapy in adult-to-adult living-related transplantation and deceased donor liver transplantation: a comparative retrospective analysis of a single-center series
Basiliximab in association with tacrolimus and steroids is effective in reducing episodes of acute cellular rejection (ACR) and increasing ACR-free survival after ALRLT and DDLT. No difference in patient and graft survival was found between group 1 and 2, nor was there any difference in the incidence of ACR between the 2 groups. However, less risk of HCV recurrence was present in the LRLT group
Notulae to the Italian flora of algae, bryophytes, fungi and lichens: 4
In this contribution, new data concerning bryophytes, fungi and lichens of the Italian flora are presented. It includes new records and confirmations for the bryophyte genera Campylopus, Paludella, Tortula, and Conocephalum, the fungal genera Agonimia, Buelliella, Entorrhiza, Filicupula, Poronia, and Sporisorium, the lichen genera Cladonia, Dibaeis, Lasallia, and Rhizocarpon
Molecular phylogeny, morphology, pigment chemistry and ecology in Hygrophoraceae (Agaricales)
Opeatogenys gracilis (Pisces: Gobiesocidae): An overlooked species or another ‘Mediterranean endemism’ found in Atlantic waters?
The occurrence of Opeatogenys gracilis outside the Mediterranean Sea is confirmed for the first
time. This is probably a more common species than previously thought, but its apparent
complete dependence on seagrass beds suggests the possibility of including it in the IUCN
threatened species list. Some sex differences are described and a complete meristic and morphometric
description of the species is presented. The occurrence of the species in the north-east
Atlantic indicates that it might be a recent dispersal from the Mediterranean Sea, or an
overlooked part of the autochthonous fauna
