La mujer y el desarrollo en Colombia

La Asociación Colombiana para el Estudio de la Población (ACEP), emprendió en 1974 un proyecto de investigación titulado "La Participación de la Mujer en los Procesos de Desarrollo Económico y Social en Colombia". Inicialmente, quienes comenzaron este proyecto partieron del supuesto de que uno de los cambios más importantes generados por el proceso de desarrollo es aquel que se asocia con la mejora de la posición ocupada por la mujer dentro de la sociedad. Se percibió la sociedad colombiana dentro de un proceso de cambio social que involucraba la transición entre una situación tradicional y una moderna, transición que estaba acompañada de profundas modificaciones. El estudio de los distintos niveles de participación femenina buscaba presentar un panorama amplio y articulado que mostrara el proceso que permite o inhibe la participación femenina, con el fin de poder llegar a la formulación de políticas que corrijan, promuevan y estimulen la participación real y efectiva de la mujer en los procesos de cambio económico y social . Esta presentación tiene por objeto ilustrar y discutir críticamente el diseño organizativo y la metodología utilizada así como reseñar los temas investigados. Se planteará, además, el estado actual general de la teoría y de la investigación sobre el tema de la mujer. Esta revisión permitirá comprender y evaluar la investigación que se presenta, a la vez que crear inquietudes que puedan servir para futuros desarrollos del tema

Estrategias de intervención y posvención del comportamiento suicida

This second book, framed in the research on suicidal behavior, contains strategies of intervention and postvention, both at the level of prevention and in the face of the occurrence of an event. It is the reflective result of a work, carried out for 4 years, funded by the Catholic University Luis Amigó, and carried out in eight localities of Antioquia in face-to-face and in some countries of the region in a virtual way; where technical advice and support has been provided in order to strengthen the institutional competences of these localities with regard to suicide; the book, presents this process of action research. We hope that its content will be useful for any person or institution interested in knowing how to deal with and contain this human problem.PublishedEste segundo libro enmarcado en la investigación sobre el comportamiento suicida, contiene estrategias de intervención y de posvención, tanto a nivel de la prevención como ante la ocurrencia de un evento. Es el resultado reflexivo de un trabajo, ejecutado durante 4 años, financiado por la Universidad Católica Luis Amigó, y llevado a cabo en ocho localidades de Antioquia de forma presencial y en algunos países de la región de manera virtual; en donde se ha prestado asesoría y acompañamiento técnico con el propósito de fortalecer las competencias institucionales de estas localidades en lo referente al suicidio; el libro, presenta este proceso de investigación acción. Esperamos que su contenido, sea de utilidad para toda persona o institución interesados en saber cómo afrontar y contener esta problemática humana

Chromatin dynamics in regeneration epithelia: lessons from Drosophila imaginal discs

During the process of regeneration, a switch in the transcription program occurs in cells that contribute to the reconstruction of the missing tissue. Early signals released upon damage are integrated into the chromatin of responding cells to change its activity and function. Changes in chromatin dynamics result in transcriptional reprogramming, this is the coordinated regulation of expression of a specific subset of genes required for the regeneration process. Damage-responsive elements in Drosophila regeneration

One of the most important questions in regenerative biology is to unveil how and when genes change expression and trigger regeneration programs. The resetting of gene expression patterns during response to injury is governed by coordinated actions of genomic regions that control the activity of multiple sequence-specific DNA binding proteins. Using genome-wide approaches to interrogate chromatin function, we here identify the elements that regulate tissue recovery in Drosophila imaginal discs, which show a high regenerative capacity after genetically induced cell death. Our findings indicate there is global coregulation of gene expression as well as a regeneration program driven by different types of regulatory elements. Novel enhancers acting exclusively within damaged tissue cooperate with enhancers co-opted from other tissues and other developmental stages, as well as with endogenous enhancers that show increased activity after injury. El suicidio. Una mirada integral e integradora

El contenido de esta publicación resulta de una investigación acerca de la prevención del comportamiento suicida, liderada por la Universidad Católica Luis Amigó (sede Medellín, Colombia) e implementada en cinco localidades del departamento de Antioquia con el objetivo de acompañar desde la asesoría y asistencia técnica a los municipios participantes mediante el trabajo interactivo con la institucionalidad de cada localidad. La investigación y el texto mismo tienen la pretensión de visibilizar esta compleja problemática como un asunto de todos y todas, en aras de posicionarla como una cuestión de interés público
