How to control market power of activity centres? A theoretical model showing the advantages of implementing competition within organizations
One important issue in firmsâ governance is how to create incentives so that activity centres can become more efficient. In this paper, we first introduce an agency contract where the salary of the manager of an activity centre that produces an intermediate product is dependent of its performance. Secondly, we add competition within the organization. This latter point is new in the literature. We then develop a "static analysis" comparing a firm that has only one activity centre producing an intermediate product with another firm that has two activity centres producing the same intermediate product, in a context where the technology manifests increasing returns to scale. We conclude that the introduction of internal competition makes the firm globally more efficient, even though it cannot fully explore the existence of increasing returns to scale.Activity centres, internal market power, firm efficiency

construção do conhecimento. This report is the result of stages experienced in contexts of 1st and 2nd cycle
of basic education in the context of the courses of supervised teaching practice i and ii,
to obtain the master of education in the 1st and 2nd cycle of basic education, pela
escola superior de educação de paula frassinetti.
This report is the product of the reflection of the whole process of learning and
professional development as a student of this master, confronting theories that shape
it, for the two contexts.
Referenced as a methodological option, an exploratory study intended to
analyze the maximum possibilities in both school contexts of intervention, within a
qualitative research.
Along with educational interventions, we act intentionally, developing
educational experiences that promote active learning, significant, diverse, integrated
and socializing that guarantee the right to academic success of each student.
We also highlight the importance of multiple educational experiences in the
construction of professionalism, as well as issues facing the generalist teacher, that we
want to reply, assuming a reflective knowledge construction

Didactic Engineering (DE) and Professional Didactics (PD): A Proposal for Historical Eesearch in Brazil on Recurring Number Sequences
The present work presents some examples of data originated from a set of investigations developed in Brazil, at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of the State of CearĂĄ - IFCE, in the context of teacher education, and the consideration of elements of a historical, mathematical, and evolutionary nature. Thus, from a perspective of theoretical complementarity involving the research elements derived from the notion of the didactic engineering for development and some assumptions of the French aspect of the professional didactics, two sets of data are discussed. The first set involved research carried out between 2017 and 2020. The second set considered involved studies still under development in Brazil, considering the period of 2020 - 2023. The historical landscape of investigation rests on considering the recurring number sequences of Fibonacci, Lucas, Pell, Jacobsthal, Coordonier or Padovan, Perrin, Mersenne, Oresme, Naraynna, and Leonardo. Furthermore, in a broad sense, the study aims to provide a learning scenario for the teacher, affected by a perspective of mathematical knowledge evolution, including the repercussions and applications with current technology
O Quattrocento florentino e a historiografia da arte em Aby Warburg
The work of Aby Warburg (1866-1929), dedicated above all to the great theme of the survival of the classical tradition in the European Renaissance, has gained notoriety in recent decades, including in Brazil. This article seeks an immersion in the work of this historian, circumscribing the discussion, in particular, to the thesis on Botticelli and some successive studies on the theme of the Florentine Quattrocento. We present a reading guided by an effort of contextualization, in which it is sought to identify Warburgâs main historiographical references, demonstrating his latent interlocution with the art historiography produced in the German-speaking world. In this sense, this article sustains that Warburg was clearly aligned with the tradition of âart history as cultural historyâ, present in the work of authors such as Jacob Burckhardt, Anton Springer and Hubert Janitschek.
The style of the fragments: form and theoretical construction in Aby Warburgâs Grundlegende BruchstĂŒcke
In 1888 Aby Warburg started to write the Grundlegend BruchstĂŒcke (fragments), trying to synthesize his theoretical reflections and the contours of his Renaissance studies. This work lasted until 1905, producing a diary-like compendium containing sketches, conceptual definitions, aphorisms, and bibliographical references that he intended to present as a book on image theory. Bringing to the discussion this important, though not yet widely known, source, this article analyzes Warburgâs theoretical thought in its contours and construction process. We aim to debate the place of the fragments in his theoretical reflection focusing on three general topics: I) the working process of the fragments; II) their formal elements; III) their systematicity. Lastly, we argue that, though Warburgâs fragments lack strict rigor and technical systematicity, they do not fail to present themselves as a rich theoretical reflection, a work with remarkable philosophical vigor
Small Data as a Tool to Predict Player Game Design Preferences: A Qualitative Pilot Study
Videogames, besides a form of entertainment, can be of added value to purposes such as physical rehabilitation (serious games). In this context, custom made serious games may be of great value, especially if they combine the necessary actions that the user must perform with engaging and captivating gameplay. Given data protection and ethical constraints, assessing a patientâs gaming preferences and personal traits to predict preferred game design by big data from online social profiles is not possible. In this matter, we developed a questionnaire that tries to infer patientsâ gaming preferences from limited personal information, which we denote as âSmall Dataâ. The questionnaire was tested in a pilot study with 17 healthy participants and results suggest that the collected information may help decide what kind of videogame better suits a particular patient, potentially aiding the process of developing Serious Games for healthcare
