    Relação entre limitações físicas e sintomatologia depressiva em idosos europeus

    Objetive: To explore the relationship between physical limitations and depressive symptomatology. Methods: Study with a cross-sectional design. Data were from the population-based Survey of Health, Aging, and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) wave seven (2017). Physical limitations were assessed by the Global Activity Limitations Indicator (GALI). The EURO-D scale was used to measure depressive symptomatology. Results: The sample consisted of 13450 individuals with a mean age of 70.7 ± 7.6 years. Physical limitations showed a positive and significant correlation with depressive symptomatology (r=0.221; p < 0.001). For men, having physical limitations increased 46% (OR=1.46, 95% IC: 1.35, 1.57) the probability of having depressive symptoms and for women increased 50% (OR=1.50, 95% IC: 1.38, 1.63). Conclusion: Having physical limitations increases the likelihood of having depressive symptomatology.Objetivo: Explorar a relação entre as limitações físicas e a sintomatologia depressiva. Metodologia: Estudo com um desenho transversal. Os dados provêm da base populacional da wave 7 (2017) do Inquérito de Saúde, Envelhecimento e Reforma na Europa (SHARE). As limitações físicas foram avaliadas pelo Indicador Global de Limitações de Atividades (GALI). A escala EURO-D foi utilizada para avaliar a sintomatologia depressiva. Resultados: A amostra foi constituída por 13450 indivíduos com uma idade média de 70.7 ± 7.6. As limitações físicas apresentaram uma correlação positiva e significativa com a sintomatologia depressiva (r=0.221; p < 0.001). Para os homens, ter limitações físicas aumentou 46% (OR=1.46, 95% IC: 1.35, 1.57) a probabilidade de apresentar sintomatologia depressiva e para as mulheres aumentou 50% (OR=1.50, 95% IC: 1.38, 1.63).     QoS metrics-in-the-loop for endowing runtime self-adaptation to robotic software architectures

    The design of a robot that is capable of operating autonomously in a changing and unstructured scenario is based on complex software architec- tures, in which perceptual and actuation components, as well as deliberative ones, are considered. The inherent dynamism of this kind of scenarios forces the software architecture to be able to adapt the robot’s behaviour to de- tected changes at runtime. This adaptation is often hard-coded by the robotic engineer within software components, thus considering the specific situations that s/he believes to be appropriate at design-time. Subsequently, when any of these situations occur, software components can react by updating parame- ters, planning decisions, etc., then ensuring that the robot provides the desired response. On the contrary, adding and managing situations that were not ini- tially considered is a cumbersome and expensive task. This paper describes a complete model-based framework for endowing a robot control architecture with the ability of self-adapting the robot’s behaviour at runtime. On the one hand, this framework provides robotic designers with a textual model editor allowing them to specify variation points in the robot behaviour and define how these variation points should be configured at runtime according to the perceived situation. On the other hand, the framework also includes a code generator that, taking the previous models as an input, generates and ap- propriately configures the runtime infrastructure needed to monitor relevant non-functional properties and, according to their evolution, perform the ap- propriate behaviour adaptations to meet the required robot quality-of-service (QoS). The proposed framework is discussed and validated in two case studies using different and well-known robotics software architectures.     O trabalho foi desenvolvido como forma de subsidiar ações de planejamento e gestão ambiental no município de Ipu-Ce, a partir de uma metodologia geoecológica fundamentada na análise integrada da relação natureza-sociedade a partir de uma caracterização socioeconômica e natural. Foram elaborados mapas através do uso de geotecnologias de informações geográficas, de forma a delimitar os sistemas físico-naturais, possibilitando a caracterização e discussão do mesmo. Percebe-se, em Rodriguez (1994), que os sistemas formadores da paisagem são complexos e exigem uma multiplicidade de classificações que podem, segundo o autor, enquadrar-se perfeitamente em três princípios básicos de análise: o genético, o estrutural sistêmico e o histórico, que se fundem numa classificação complexa. Conhecer esses sistemas físico-naturais e sua relação com a sociedade é importante para tomadas de decisões territoriais, pautadas na capacidade de suporte dos mesmos com relação à atividade antrópica

    Low-diffusion Xe-He gas mixtures for rare-event detection: electroluminescence yield

    [EN] High pressure xenon Time Projection Chambers (TPC) based on secondary scintillation (electroluminescence) signal amplification are being proposed for rare event detection such as directional dark matter, double electron capture and double beta decay detection. The discrimination of the rare event through the topological signature of primary ionisation trails is a major asset for this type of TPC when compared to single liquid or double-phase TPCs, limited mainly by the high electron diffusion in pure xenon. Helium admixtures with xenon can be an attractive solution to reduce the electron diffu- sion significantly, improving the discrimination efficiency of these optical TPCs. We have measured the electroluminescence (EL) yield of Xe-He mixtures, in the range of 0 to 30% He and demonstrated the small impact on the EL yield of the addition of helium to pure xenon. For a typical reduced electric field of 2.5 kV/cm/bar in the EL region, the EL yield is lowered by similar to 2%, 3%, 6% and 10% for 10%, 15%, 20% and 30% of helium concentration, respectively. This decrease is less than what has been obtained from the most recent simulation framework in the literature. The impact of the addition of helium on EL statistical fluctuations is negligible, within the experimental uncertainties.     Assessment of the Body Composition and the Loss of Fat-Free Mass through Bioelectric Impedance Analysis in Patients Who Underwent Open Gastric Bypass

    Background. Bariatric surgery is considered an effective option for the management of morbid obesity. The incidence of obesity has been gradually increasing all over the world reaching epidemic proportions in some regions of the world. Obesity can cause a reduction of up to 22% in the life expectancy of morbidly obese patients. Objective. The objective of this paper is to assess the weight loss associated with the first 6 months after bariatric surgery using bioelectric impedance analysis (BIA) for the evaluation of fat mass and fat-free mass. Method. A total of 36 morbidly obese patients were subjected to open gastric bypass surgery. The patients weight was monitored before and after the procedure using the bioelectric impedance analysis. Results. Bariatric surgery resulted in an average percentage of weight loss of 28.6% (40 kg) as determined 6 months after the procedure was performed. Analysis of the different components of body weight indicated an undesirable loss of fat-free mass along with the reduction of total body weight. Conclusion. Open gastric bypass induced a significant loss of total weight and loss of fat-free mass in patients six months after the surgery. The use of bioelectric impedance analysis resulted in an appropriate estimation of the total weight components in individuals subjected to bariatric surgery allowing a more real analysis of the variation of weight after the surgery

    ANÁLISE DO CONCEITO DE CLASSIFICAÇÃO DE RISCO PARA ENFERMAGEM EM SERVIÇOS DE EMERGÊNCIA

    Objetivo: Analisar o conceito de classificação de risco, na prática de Enfermagem, em serviços de emergência. Método: Trata-se de um estudo reflexivo, realizado a partir de análise de conceito, do modelo proposto por Walker e Avant. Seguiram-se as seguintes etapas: Seleção do conceito; Objetivos da análise conceitual; Identificação dos possíveis usos do conceito; Determinação dos atributos definidores; Identificação do caso modelo; Identificação de caso adicional (contrário); Identificação de antecedentes e consequentes; e Definição de referenciais empíricos. Resultados: Foram definidos aspectos da utilização do uso do conceito na literatura, a apresentação dos atributos e dos casos que implementam o conceito. A literatura traz a utilização do conceito de forma equivocada e este foi clarificado com os achados do estudo.  Conclusão: Ressalta-se a importância da definição conceitual para a melhoria de sua utilização na prática clínica e nos serviços de emergência

    Panorama epidemiológico das internações por Flutter e Fibrilação Atrial no Brasil nos últimos anos

    This article aims to analyze the epidemiological panorama of hospitalizations and deaths due to atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter, in Brazil, in the last five years. Secondary data relating to hospital morbidity due to atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter available on the website of the Department of Informatics of the Unified Health System (DATASUS) was used. In Brazil, 335,317 hospitalizations for atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter were recorded between 2019 and 2023. It is concluded that the incidence of atrial fibrillation and flutter was higher in male patients, with women being less affected.Este artigo tem por objetivo analisar o panorama epidemiológico das internações e óbitos por fibrilação atrial e flutter atrial, no Brasil, nos últimos cinco anos. Foram utilizados dados secundários referentes à morbidade hospitalar por fibrilação atrial e flutter atrial disponíveis no site do Departamento de Informática do Sistema Único de Saúde (DATASUS). No Brasil foram registradas 335.317 internações por fibrilação atrial e flutter atrial ocorridos entre 2019 e 2023. Conclui-se que a incidência da fibrilação atrial e flutter se mostrou maior em pacientes do sexo masculino, sendo as mulheres menos acometidas
