A Vaccinium microcarpum (Turcz. ex Rupr.) Schmalh. Magyarországon
A növényt, amelyet 1994-ben Vaccinium oxycoccos L. néven közöltek a Siroki Nyírjes-tóról, e cikk első szerzője 1999-ben Vaccinium microcarpum (Turcz. ex Rupr.) Schmalh. fajként azonosította. A határozás helyességét bizonyító morfometriai tulajdonságok gyűjtésére 2016. augusztus 24-én került sor a siroki Nyírjes-tó tőzegmohalápján és szeptember 2-án és 3-án a beregi Báb-tava és a Nyíres-tó tőzegmohalápján. A vizsgálatokhoz felhasználtuk a Beregi-lápokon készített korábbi saját fényképfelvételeinket is. A siroki állomány növényeinek apró, háromszög-tojásdad alakú levelei a levélvállnál a legszélesebbek, a tojásdad-elliptikus murvák a csupasz virágkocsányok alsó harmadában fejlődnek, sötét rózsaszín virágaik magánosak, a porzószálak abaxiális felülete mindenütt szőrős, és a termés körte alakú. A beregi állomány növényeinek ezzel szemben elliptikus-tojásdad levelei szélességében és hosszúságában is jóval nagyobbak. Szőrös virágkocsányaik középső harmadában fejlődnek a szálas-lándzsás murvák, fehér virágaik (2)–3–4–(5) virágú virágzatot alkottak, a porzószálaknak csak a szélei szőrösek, a termés gömb alakú. A. A gyűjtött adatok statisztikai elemzése alátámasztotta, hogy a Sirokon található növények V. microcarpum fajhoz, míg a beregiek V. oxycoccos fajhoz tartoznak.</jats:p

Novel genetic sex markers reveal high frequency of sex reversal in wild populations of the agile frog (Rana dalmatina) associated with anthropogenic land use
A hasonló kémiai
Ezzel szemben a
terbutilazin két, természetes vizekben is előforduló koncentrációjának valamelyikét (0,3
meghatározóak a természetben
Development opportunities for the franchise system of DIEGO – Online marketing
A DIEGO franchise rendszere példaértékű a magyar franchise rendszerek vonatkozásában.
Toads phenotypically adjust their chemical defences to anthropogenic habitat change
Abstract Despite the well-documented effects of human-induced environmental changes on the morphology, physiology, behaviour and life history of wild animals, next to nothing is known about how anthropogenic habitats influence anti-predatory chemical defence, a crucial fitness component of many species. We investigated the amount and composition of defensive toxins in adult common toads (Bufo bufo) captured in natural, agricultural and urban habitats, and in their offspring raised in a common-garden experiment. We found that, compared to toads captured from natural habitats, adults from both types of anthropogenic habitats had larger toxin glands (parotoids) and their toxin secretion contained higher concentrations of bufagenins, the more potent class of bufadienolide toxins. Furthermore, urban toads had lower concentrations of bufotoxins, the compounds with lower toxicity. None of these differences were present in the captive-raised juveniles; instead, toadlets originating from agricultural habitats had smaller parotoids and lower bufotoxin concentrations. These results suggest that toads’ chemical defences respond to the challenges of anthropogenic environments via phenotypic plasticity. These responses may constitute non-adaptive consequences of pollution by endocrine-disrupting chemicals as well as adaptive adjustments to the altered predator assemblages of urban and agricultural habitats
Sex reversal and ontogeny under climate change and chemical pollution: are there interactions between the effects of elevated temperature and a xenoestrogen on early development in agile frogs?
“Heat waves” experienced during larval life have species-specific consequences on life-history traits and sexual development in anuran amphibians
Extreme temperatures during heat waves can induce
mass-mortality events, but can also exert sublethal negative effects by compromising
life-history traits and derailing sexual development. Ectothermic animals may,
however, also benefit from increased temperatures via enhanced physiological
performance and the suppression of cold-adapted pathogens. Therefore, it is
crucial to address how the intensity and timing of naturally occurring or
human-induced heat waves affect life-history traits and sexual development in
amphibians, to predict future effects of climate change and to minimise risks arising
from the application of elevated temperature in disease mitigation. We raised
agile frog (Rana dalmatina; Bonaparte, 1840) and common toad (Bufo bufo; Linnaeus, 1758) tadpoles at 19 °C and exposed them to a
simulated heat wave of 28 or 30 °C for six days during one of three ontogenetic
periods (early, mid or late larval development). In agile frogs, exposure to 30 °C during early larval
development increased mortality. Regardless of timing, all heat-treatments
delayed metamorphosis, and exposure to 30 °C decreased body mass at
metamorphosis. Furthermore, exposure to 30 °C during any period and to 28 °C
late in development caused female-to-male sex reversal, skewing sex ratios strongly
towards males. In common toads, high temperature only slightly decreased survival
and did not influence phenotypic sex ratio, while it reduced metamorph mass and
length of larval development. Juvenile body mass measured two months after metamorphosis
was not altered by temperature treatments in either species.
Our results indicate that heat
waves may have devastating effects on amphibian populations, and the severity
of these negative consequences, and sensitivity can vary greatly between species
and with the timing and intensity of heat. Finally, thermal treatments against cold-adapted
pathogens have to be executed with caution, taking into account the thermo-sensitivity
of the species and the life stage of animals to be treated.</p
