Investigation of heavy-heavy pseudoscalar mesons in thermal QCD Sum Rules

    Get PDF
We investigate the mass and decay constant of the heavy-heavy pseudoscalar, BcB_c, ηc\eta_c and ηb\eta_b mesons in the framework of finite temperature QCD sum rules. The annihilation and scattering parts of spectral density are calculated in the lowest order of perturbation theory. Taking into account the additional operators arising at finite temperature, the nonperturbative corrections are also evaluated. The masses and decay constants remain unchanged under T100 MeVT\cong 100 ~MeV, but after this point, they start to diminish with increasing the temperature. At critical or deconfinement temperature, the decay constants reach approximately to 35% of their values in the vacuum, while the masses are decreased about 7%, 12% and 2% for BcB_c, ηc\eta_c and ηb\eta_b states, respectively. The results at zero temperature are in a good consistency with the existing experimental values as well as predictions of the other nonperturbative approaches.Comment: 11 Pages, 2 Tables and 6 Figure

This article discusses the constitutional enshrining versions of freedom of speech in Eastern European countries. Being reflected in all constitutions of this group of countries, freedom of speech received lexical interfacing with other freedoms or with ways of their realization. The systematization of constitutional articulation variants of freedom of speech allowed us to identify two fundamental approaches: securing freedom of speech and detailing it. In the considered constitutions, the formulation of “freedom of speech” is typical, which is complemented by freedom of expression of “opinion”, “conviction”, “one's own views”, “thought”, “thinking and thought”, and disseminating “ideas, opinions, beliefs, information”. It was revealed that in a number of constitutions, the freedom of speech is articulated through law, which creates the conditions for its excessive regulation. “Everyone” traditionally act as the constitutional addresses the freedom of speech. Scalar Quarkonia at Finite Temperature

    Get PDF
Masses and decay constants of the scalar quarkonia, χQ0(Q=b,c)\chi_{Q0} (Q=b,c) with quantum numbers IG(JPC)=0+(0++)I^G(J^{PC})=0^{+}(0^{++}) are calculated in the framework of the QCD sum rules approach both in vacuum and finite temperature. The masses and decay constants remain unchanged up to T100 MeVT\simeq100~MeV but they start to diminish with increasing the temperature after this point. At near the critic or deconfinement temperature, the decay constants reach approximately to 25% of their values in vacuum, while the masses are decreased about 6% and 23% for bottom and charm cases, respectively. The results at zero temperature are in a good consistency with the existing experimental values and predictions of the other nonperturbative approaches. Our predictions on the decay constants in vacuum as well as the behavior of the masses and decay constants with respect to the temperature can be checked in the future experiments.Comment: 12 Pages, 9 Figures and 2 Table

In order to assess the role of nerve sparing surgery on urinary incontinence (Ul) after open radical retropubic prostatectomy (RPE) we evaluated a consecutive series of 209 patients from 2007 till 2010. In the first group (n = 106, average age 58,08+5,84, PSA median 8,93 ng/ml) the patients underwent RPE using uni- or bilateral nerve sparing technique; in the second group (n = 103, average age 60,37+5,22, PSA median 10,07 ng/ml) the nerve sparing technique was not applied. The continence was defined as the absence of urinary leak with the possible usage of one pad per day. Slight incontinence - 1-2 pads per day, medium - 3, severe - more than 3 pads per day. One year after surgery 97,26% and 90,43% patients were continent in 1 and 2 group, respectively. Slight stress incontinence was found in 2,74% and 9,57% patients. No patient had medium and severe stress incontinence. Thereby the incidence of incontinence after nerve sparing RPE is lower than after no nerve sparing one.

Radical retropubic prostatectomy is one of the most often used treatments for localized prostate cancer. An important part of surgery follow-up is quality of life assessment. Surveys before the prostatectomy and every 3 months (up to one year) after it were made. The matters of incontinence, erectile and bowel dysfunction and the worry caused by them and their influence on social activity and quality of life were focused on. None of the patients showed heavy incontinence. Only 23.1% of patients had to use adult diapers from time to time one year after the surgery. One year after the surgery none of the patients expressed any regret regarding the treatment choice or its aftermath. Radical retropubic prostatectomy for prostate cancer being made in centers where it's a routine surgery doesn't lead to any substantial incontinence or quality of life degradation.

The predictive value of various indicators of sperm for male fertility

Introduction. DNA fragmentation of sperm is one of the possible causes of reduced fertility potential of men. However, a significant correlation between conventional semen parameters and sperm DNA fragmentation was not found. This fact determines the relevance of the study of the influence of various parameters of sperm on male fertility.Materials and methods. The study included 60 men, aged 26–36 years (median – 30 years) with idiopathic infertility and the level of DNA fragmentation of sperm is higher than 15 %. These men were treated with hyperbaric oxygen therapy, after 3 months in vitro fertilization performed partners of these men. DNA fragmentation of sperm cells was determined by TUNEL (upper limit of normal – 15 %). The level of reactive oxygen species (ROS) of the ejaculate were determined by chemiluminescence (upper limit of normal – 0.64 mV/s).Results. The frequency of pregnancy in vitro fertilization was following: 62.8 and 64.7 % (p > 0.05) for the total number sperm of spermatozoa < 38 × 106 /ejaculate and ≥ 39 × 106 /ejaculate, respectively; 63.3 and 63.6 % (p > 0.05) for mobility (a + b) of spermatozoa < 40 and ≥ 40 %, respectively; 58.3 and 64.6 % (p > 0.05) for normal forms of spermatozoa < 4 and ≥ 4 %, respectively; 67.3 and 20.0 % (p < 0.05) for the level of DNA fragmentation of sperm ≤ 15 and > 15 %, respectively; 64.9 and 33.3 % (p < 0.05) for the level of ROS in semen ≤ 0.64 and > 0.64 mV/s, respectively.Conclusion. The probability of pregnancy after in vitro fertilization significantly depends on the levels of sperm DNA fragmentation in the sperm and level of ROS in semen
