The largest hyper-rectangle in a three dimensional orthogonal polyhedron

    Get PDF
Given a three dimensional orthogonal polyhedron P, we present a simple and efficient algorithm for finding the three dimensional orthogonal hyper-rectangle R of maximum volume, such that R is completely contained in P. Our algorithm finds out the three dimensional hyper-rectangle of maximum volume by using space sweep technique and enumerating all possible such rectangles. The presented algorithm runs in O((n2n^2+K)logn) time using O(n) space, where n is the number of vertices of the given polyhedron P and K is the number of reported three dimensional orthogonal hyper-rectangles for a problem instance, which is O(n3n^3) in the worst case

Indian Economy is progressing at a considerable pace. There are enough number of opportunities in Information Technology, Pharma, BPOs, KPOs, manufacturing and other sectors. It is a fact that the growth of these sectors is dependent on the supply of amply qualified and skilled managers. Many Business Schools and Management Educational Institutions are working in this direction The present study aims to know the initiatives of business schools at Hyderabad in general and ICBM-SBE in specific. The objectives of the study are: to identify some of the dimensions of management education, to know the reasons for low outcomes in some of the conventional MBA colleges and to know the perceptions of the students about the quality of management education programmes at ICBM- SBE. Both primary and secondary data have been used for analysis. The sample size is 525. Purposive sampling is used. Statistical tools such as chi-square test, geometric mean, factor analysis and means scores on three point and five point rating are used for analysis. Two brand equity models, Viz., Brandz Model and Keller’s Model have been adapted. The concluding part of the study states that the quality of management education revolves around three Is viz., Initiatives, Internal Processes and Insights. ICBM – School of Business Excellence which is at the top of the pyramid in both the brand equity models, is well appreciated for the commitment, intertwining information technology with transformation technology and above all for its insight. The makers (The management and staff of ICBM) are quite successful in convincing and drawing the attention of the takers (About 150 recruiters)

A Privacy Protection Mechanism for Mobile Online Social Networks

A Location sharing system is the most critical component in mobile online social networks (MOSNS).Huge number of user\u27s location information will be stored by the service providers. In addition to the location privacy and social network privacy cannot be guaranteed to the user in the earlier work. Regarding the enhanced privacy against the inside attacker implemented by the service provider in (MOSNS), we initiate a new architecture with multiple servers .It introduces a protected solution which supports a location sharing among friends and strangers. The user friend set in each query is submitted to the location server it divides into multiple subset by the location server. If the user makes a query to the server the data can be retrieved only for the registered users instead of all. We use Three Layer of Security likely, High, Medium and Low for the Privacy implementation. Simultaneously with a location sharing it offers check ability of the searching results reoccurred from the servers. We also prove that the new construction is safe under the stronger security model with enhanced privacy

Study of simple sequence repeat (SSR) polymorphism for biotic stress resistance in elite rice variety JGL 1798

To provide ready to use markers for back ground selection in marker assisted breeding of rice, we used GPP 2 as donor parent for xa13, Xa21, Gm4 resistance to bacterial blight, gall midge and NLR 145 as another donor parent for Pi-kh gene resistance to blast and JGL 1798 as recurrent parent was investigated using 128 simple sequence repeat (SSR) primers covered on chromosome number 1-12. The results reveal that 36 HRM primers showed distinct polymorphism among the donor and recurrent parents studied indicating the robust nature of microsatellites in revealing polymorphism. Based on this study, the large range of similarity values for related cultivars using microsatellites provides greater confidence for the assessment of simple sequence repeats (SSR) polymorphism. Keywords: Simple sequence repeats (SSR), parental polymorphism, JGL 1798, hyper variable markersAfrican Journal of Biotechnology Vol. 12(40), pp. 5833-583

Not AvailableSamba Mahsuri is an elite, fine-grain type rice variety which is grown extensively in India. In order to fingerprint Samba Mahsuri and to differentiate it from 26 other closely related fine-grain type varieties, we utilized a total of 113 SSR markers, which included 87 hyper variable SSRs and 26 (GATA)n motif specific SSRs distributed uniformly across the rice genome. Twenty-six SSRs were found to be polymorphic among the rice varieties analyzed, amplifying a total of 74 alleles with an average of 2.84 alleles per marker. Cluster analysis based on Jaccard’s similarity coefficient using UPGMA grouped the 27 rice varieties into five clusters. Samba Mahsuri and another elite fine-grain type variety, Sona Mahsuri (BPT 3291) were observed to be grouped in the same cluster. A twin-marker combination JGT11-16.3 + RM19426 could unambiguously differentiate Samba Mahsuri from other fine-grain type varieties through multiplex-PCR. To utilize these SSR markers specific for Samba Mahsuri effectively for detection of impurities in Samba Mahsuri, a rapid and cost effective two-dimensional bulked DNA sampling strategy was designed and validated. Not Availabl
