Determination of dynamic impact factor for continuous girder bridge due to vehicle braking force by finite element method and experimental

    Get PDF
In this study, the finite element method (FEM) is used to investigate the dynamic response of continuous girder bridge due to moving three-axle vehicle . Vertical reaction forces of axles that change with time make bending vibration of girder significantly  increase. The braking in the first span is able to create response in other spans. In addition, the dynamic impact factors are investigated by both FEM and experiment for Hoa Xuan bridge. The results of this study provide an improved understanding of the bridge dynamic behavior and can be used as additional references for bridge codes by practicing engineers

Co-simulation of self-adjusting fuzzy PI controller for the robot with two-axes system

    Get PDF
This paper presents the co-simulation of the self-adjusting fuzzy PI controller to control a two-axes system. Each axis was driven by a permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM). The position and speed controller used the fuzzy PI algorithm with parameters adjusted by a radial basis function neural network (RBFNN). The vector control was applied to the decoupled effect of the PMLSM. The field programmable gate array (FPGA) was used to control both axes of the system. The very high-speed integrated circuit-hardware description language (VHDL) was developed in the Quartus II software environment, provided by Altera, to analyze and synthesize designs. Firstly, the mathematical model of PMLSM and fuzzy PI was introduced. Secondly, the RBFNN adjusted the knowledge base of the fuzzy PI. Thirdly, the motion trajectory was introduced for testing the control algorithm. Fourthly, the implementation of the controller based on FPGA with the FSM method and the structure of co-simulation between Matlab/Simulink and ModelSim were set up. Finally, discussion about the results proved the effectiveness of the control system, determining the exact position and trajectory of the XY axis system. This research was successful in implementing a two-motor controller within one chip

APPLICATION OF FUZZY LOGIC FOR CONTROLLING MECHANISM OF RELATIVE MANIPULATION ROBOT (MRM ROBOT)

In robot control, mathematical equations describing dynamic behaviors of robots are usually complicated. Additionally, the components such as inertial and friction parameters appearing in these equations are very difficult to determine exactly. With robots having complex structure such as parallel robots, MRM robots etc., the derivation of dynamic equations becomes more difficult and sometimes cannot obtain analytically. In those cases, controlling robot based on its equations of motion is quite hard. Applying fuzzy logic for robot control can overcome the mentioned drawbacks. This is because fuzzy control algorithm gives favorable condition to deal with the lack of adequation as well as inaccuracy of components in robot’s dynamic equations. Furthermore, the fuzzy rules are created by clauses which based on human logic, so it is easily to understand and implement. This paper discusses the application of fuzzy logic for controlling MRM robots. To compare the results obtained from fuzzy control, this paper are also adressed the use of the computed torque algorithm to control MRM robot

    Get PDF
A value chain in construction industry is implemented to ensure that a construction project is successful from the planning stages, all the way to the completed and approved building. Therefore, it is important to utilize a construction value chain because it ensures that the project delivers the maximum value for the least amount of capital. However, value chain analysis in the construction industry is little understood. The present study aims to analyze the status quo for the construction value chain in Vietnam. The findings indicated that there are three primary parts of the Vietnam construction value chain. The analysis results indicated that there are three primary parts of the Vietnam construction value chain which includes: (1) input factors (i.e., labors, materials, and machines); (2) construction processes (i.e., design, bidding, foundation construction, structural construction, and finishing works); (3) construction markets (i.e., civil construction market, industrial construction, infrastructure construction). The outcomes illustrated a comprehensive picture in the Vietnam construction value chain and build a strong platform to implement better appropriate tasks towards improving sustainable competitive advantages in the construction industry

    Get PDF
Red phosphorus-based camouflage compositions are often used on naval ships to counter anti-ship missiles. This work focused on investigating the obscurant and infrared radiation characteristics of infrared-screening smoke of pyrotechnic compositions based on red phosphorus, Mg-Al alloy, barium nitrate and Viton A rubber. The results demonstrated that the smoke clouds of the formulation based on red phosphorus and Mg-Al alloy have a high attenuation capability to 1.064 µm laser radiation. Besides, these smokescreens also have a better emission power in the wavelength range of 2.5-5 and 8-14 µm. Therefore, the smoke compositions based on red phosphorus and Mg-Al alloy can be used in camouflage devices on naval ships against infrared and laser-guided missiles

Développer une autonomisation guidée de l'apprenant en français sur objectifs spécifiques : vers un apprentissage fondé sur le Web (web based learning)

This research lies at the intersection of four different areas: French for specific purposes; discourse analysis; learner autonomy and web based learning. We’ve collected a corpus which provided data for designing contextualized discursive activities exploiting the web (web-based learning : web as a communication tool, web as artifact integrated into the learning environment ) in the context of FOS for tourism. We chose to focus on the discursive activity because it allows us to answer two questions: - What should be taught / learned in a context of FOS for tourism ? - What are the characteristics of speech involved ? Our corpus comprises two printed travel guides on Vietnam (approximately 1000 pages) and oral discourse transcribed from records of tour guide speeches (about 10 hours in total). It is therefore both data mining in the corpus, the transfer of this data for applied linguistic and their direct reuse in the design of learning activities. The transfer is the application of the conclusions drawn from the analysis of the corpus for the development of discursive activities while the reuse of these data consists in extracting corpus elements to integrate them into discursive activities. To analyze the corpus, to structure and to program discursive activities, we used the XML and developed scripts for computer operations (analysis and learning activities ). Finally, our research leads to a didactic perspective. We recommend the discursive approach for the design of syllabus and discursive learning activities. We illustrate this approach with some learning activities. It should be noted that this is an exploratory study and not an experimental one.

Hybrid User Pairing for Spectral and Energy Efficiencies in Multiuser MISO-NOMA Networks with SWIPT

    Get PDF
In this paper, we propose a novel hybrid user pairing (HUP) scheme in multiuser multiple-input single-output nonorthogonal multiple access networks with simultaneous wireless information and power transfer. In this system, two information users with distinct channel conditions are optimally paired while energy users perform energy harvesting (EH) under non-linearity of the EH circuits. We consider the problem of jointly optimizing user pairing and power allocation to maximize the overall spectral efficiency (SE) and energy efficiency (EE) subject to userspecific quality-of-service and harvested power requirements. A new paradigm for the EE-EH trade-off is then proposed to achieve a good balance of network power consumption. Such design problems are formulated as the maximization of nonconcave functions subject to the class of mixed-integer non-convex constraints, which are very challenging to solve optimally. To address these challenges, we first relax binary pairing variables to be continuous and transform the design problems into equivalent non-convex ones, but with more tractable forms. We then develop low-complexity iterative algorithms to improve the objectives and converge to a local optimum by means of the inner approximation framework. Simulation results show the convergence of proposed algorithms and the SE and EE improvements of the proposed HUP scheme over state-of-the-art designs. In addition, the effects of key parameters such as the number of antennas and dynamic power at the BS, target data rates, and energy threshold, on the system performance are evaluated to show the effectiveness of the proposed schemes in balancing resource utilization

LAPFormer: A Light and Accurate Polyp Segmentation Transformer

Polyp segmentation is still known as a difficult problem due to the large variety of polyp shapes, scanning and labeling modalities. This prevents deep learning model to generalize well on unseen data. However, Transformer-based approach recently has achieved some remarkable results on performance with the ability of extracting global context better than CNN-based architecture and yet lead to better generalization. To leverage this strength of Transformer, we propose a new model with encoder-decoder architecture named LAPFormer, which uses a hierarchical Transformer encoder to better extract global feature and combine with our novel CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) decoder for capturing local appearance of the polyps. Our proposed decoder contains a progressive feature fusion module designed for fusing feature from upper scales and lower scales and enable multi-scale features to be more correlative. Besides, we also use feature refinement module and feature selection module for processing feature. We test our model on five popular benchmark datasets for polyp segmentation, including Kvasir, CVC-Clinic DB, CVC-ColonDB, CVC-T, and ETIS-LaribComment: 7 pages, 7 figures, ACL 2023 underrevie
