Els cursos de formació bàsica per a la Reforma, dirigits als mestres de Cicle Inicial de l'escola pública i privada concertada, van començar el gener i acabaran el juliol d'aquest any. Els objectius que hom pretén aconseguir són amplis. El Departament d'Ensenyament els concreta en quatre: - Donar a conèixer la nova orientació del sistema educatiu i les innovacions més significatives de caire psicopedagògic i estructural que introdueix. - Afavorir el coneixement del Disseny Curricular de l'Etapa de Primària com a instrument de renovació pedagògica, de reflexió sobre els diferents continguts de l'ensenyament i de sistematització de la tasca docent. - Donar elements per poder desenvolupar el currículum en el cicle, d'acord amb el Projecte Educatiu del Centre. - Capacitar el professorat per contrastar la seva pràctica educativa en el Cicle Inicial amb els plantejaments psicopedagògics i didàctics de la Reforma

New algorithms for DNA sequencing by hybridization

The reconstruction of DNA sequences from DNA fragments is one of the most challenging problems in computational biology. In recent years the specific problem of DNA sequencing by hybridization has attracted quite a lot of interest in the optimization community. Despite the fact that well-working constructive heuristics are often the basis for well-working metaheuristics, only two constructive heuristics exist. Both approaches were proposed by Blazewicz and colleagues; the first one is a look-ahead greedy technique, and the second one is a constructive technique based on constructing reliable sub-sequences. Our motivation was twofold. First, we wanted to develop better constructive heuristics. Second, on the basis of these heuristics we wanted to develop new state-of-the-art metaheuristics for DNA sequencing by hybridization. In the first part of the paper we present our constructive heuristics. We show that the results of the best constructive heuristic are comparable to the results of existing metaheuristics, while using less computational time. In the second part of the paper we propose an ant colony optimization (ACO) approach and apply it in a so-called multi-level framework. Both, the ACO algorithm and the multi-level framework are based on our constructive heuristics. The computational results show that our algorithm is currently a state-of-the-art algorithm for DNA sequencing by hybridization.Postprint (published version

Tutorizando el aprendizaje proactivo de nuevas tecnologías: taller de programación Android

Mediante el Programa Google EMEA’s AndroidEDU, la UPC ha impartido un novedoso taller de programación para Android. Durante diez semanas se tratan diferentes temas sobre este sistema y una veintena de alumnos trabajan ejercicios en grupos reducidos. Los grupos colaboran para investigar y solucionar las dificultades técnicas que surgen. Posteriormente, cada grupo realiza y defiende un proyecto propio. El interés en Android ha permitido fomentar el aprendizaje proactivo, con muy buenos resultados. Como profesores esta experiencia nos ha permitido afrontar nuevos retos docentes, obligándonos a replantear nuestro rol, a crear material docente adecuado a los nuevos medios de difusión social (foro FIB, YouTube, etc.), y a suplir la falta de experiencia en el tema con una interesante colaboración profesoralumno.SUMMARY: Within the AndroidEDU Google EMEA Program, the UPC has organized a innovative programming workshop for Android. For ten weeks, twenty students (who are organized in small groups) deal with different topics about Android. Those groups work together to investigate and resolve technical difficulties that may arise. By the end of the course, each group works on and fends for its own project.The growing interest in Android has allowed us to apply proactive learning techniques with very good results. As teachers, this experience has allowed us to meet new challenges, since it has forced us to rethink our role, to create educational material accordant with the new communication media (forum FIB, YouTube, etc.), and to supply the lack of expertise with an interesting collaboration between teachers and students.Peer Reviewe
