Feet representation in modern and contemporary art: their iconographic, symbolic and compositive value

Una de las partes más importantes del cuerpo humano, los pies, pasan desapercibidos muchas veces para los estudiosos o aficionados al Arte, ya que parecen más atrayentes otros aspectos como los gestos de las manos, el poder de una mirada o una sonrisa… Este artículo intentará explicar el significado de los pies en el arte sin hacer un estudio anatómico, sino analizando su valor simbólico en las obras de arte más representativas de la historia desde los inicios del Renacimiento (siglo XV), a la llegada del XX.Our feet are one of the most important parts of our body. Sexismo y misoginia en el arte moderno y contemporáneo: obras y artistas

There are works in arts that denigrate and under value women and sometimes we do not pay attention to these works, didn´t the Greek sculpting the korai show their misogyny when hiding every and any feature showing beauty or anatomy if compared to the kuroi apolineos, then? We also moan... It is our goal here to focus on such differences. We will go through different Arts styles and observe when the artist was either an accomplice or an informer of women´s ill-treatment and abuse, of the way in which a rape topic was undertaken, of prostitution, of sexual harassment or the image of the so-called femme fatal. Deshumanizando a la mujer en la publicidad: un análisis de los nombres de imágenes de perfumes

El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar las palabras y las imágenes utilizadas por anunciantes al nombrar y dar a conocer las fragancias de perfumes. Nos centraremos en las referencias que nombres e imágenes tienen, así como en las connotaciones que estos nombres de fragancias y las imágenes llevan con ellos evidenciando que son una clara evidencia de la sexualización de las niñas y las mujeres en la publicidad de algunas fragancias. El sexo se convierte en un capítulo fundamental de la publicidad de perfumes para vender el producto convenciendo al público con mujeres que se convierten en objetos carentes de identidad  y valor. En relación a las palabras, los nombres de perfumes derivan de las palabras comunes del habla cotidiana, su nombre puede ser casi cualquier vocablo, sin embargo, dependiendo de la persona o en la comunidad, esta referencia será diferente.

RESUMEN: La Fundación Eugenio Granell es un centro referencial del arte contemporáneo en Galicia. Se especializa en el movimiento surrealista, vanguardia que tuvo en sus filas gran número de mujeres. Con este texto se intentará hacer una breve aproximación al Surrealismo, a la Fundación Granell y al rol que juegan las mujeres en el arte analizando cuál es su papel en la Fundación al destacar las creaciones de una de las artistas que han expuesto allí: Joanna Domanska. El Surrealismo de Joanna Domanska es actual y distinto, provocando inquietar con sus piezas donde siempre aparecen hombrecillos anónimos de espaldas, frente a algún objeto gigantesco: casas sin dueño, enormes libros, instrumentos. Este artículo se acercará al Centro Galego de Arte Contemporánea (Santiago de Compostela) desde su construcción en los años noventa del siglo XX para comprobar, a través de su historia, si es posible a día de hoy hablar de feminismo o no en su trayectoria. Se intentará llegar a unas conclusiones repasando la labor de sus gestores/as y algunas de las muestras más interesantes de las artistas que tienen un papel relevante en el ámbito del feminismo.AbstractThis article will approach the Galician Center for Contemporary Art (Santiago de Compostela) since its construction in the nineties of the 20th century, to check, through its history, if it is possible today, to speak of feminism or not in its history. Gender Violence and Art: Rape and Femicide in Art of Regina José Galindo

[Resumo] A violación e o feminicidio son dous dos ataques de violencia contra as mulleres máis crueis e tristemente máis frecuentes. A arte actual non é allea a este problema, e artistas como Regina José Galindo, en Guatemala, están implicadas/os en denunciar os abusos cometidos contra as mulleres a través das súas creacións. Regina Galindo é unha artista visual ou executante (performer) especializada en body art cuxo feminismo a levou a sentirse especialmente implicada en cuestións de xénero, polo que a muller é un dos temas recorrentes nas súas obras, malia que sempre violada, agredida ou oprimida. O outro tema que domina o seu traballo é o conflito armado que tivo lugar en Guatemala entre 1960 e 1996 e causou miles de vítimas, moitas delas mulleres ou nenas/os. Con base nestes dous temas e algunhas obras de arte e cunha forte motivación política, de denuncia e reivindicación, analizaranse as creacións concibidas por Regina Galindo á volta de casos de violencia de xénero[Abstract] Rape and femicide are two of the cruellest and, sadly, most frequent assaults of violence against women. Current art is no stranger to this problem and artists such as the Guatemalan Regina José Galindo are involved in denouncing the abuses committed against women through their artistic creations. Regina Galindo is a visual artist or performer, specialized in body art, and her feminism leads her to feel especially involved with gender issues, which is why women are one of the recurring themes in her works, but always the woman who is violated, assaulted or oppressed. The other issue that dominates his work is the armed conflict in Guatemala that took place between 1960-1996 and ended in thousands of victims, many of them women or children. With these two themes and some works of art with a strong political charge, of denunciation and vindication will be analysed the creations of Regina Galindo conceived around cases of gender violenc
