    Statistics of a noise-driven Manakov soliton

    We investigate the statistics of a vector Manakov soliton in the presence of additive Gaussian white noise. The adiabatic perturbation theory for Manakov soliton yields a stochastic Langevin system which we analyze via the corresponding Fokker-Planck equation for the probability density function (PDF) for the soliton parameters. We obtain marginal PDFs for the soliton frequency and amplitude as well as soliton amplitude and polarization angle. We also derive formulae for the variances of all soliton parameters and analyze their dependence on the initial values of polarization angle and phase.Comment: Submitted to J.Phys.A: Mathematical and Genera

    Impedance and magnetic properties of CoFeCrSiB amorphous ribbons near the curie point

    The influence of temperature on the magnetic properties and magnetoimpedance of Co64Fe3Cr3Si15B15 and Co67FCr3Si15B12 amorphous ribbons having different Curie points are studied. The impedance and its component are found to change greatly when the ribbons pass into the paramagnetic state. This finding can be used to determine the Curie point of ferromagnets and design high-sensitivity thermal transducers. © 2013 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd

    We examine the existence and stability of discrete spatial solitons in coupled nonlinear lasing cavities (waveguide resonators), addressing the case of active defocusing media, where the gain exceeds damping in the low-amplitude limit. A new family of stable localized structures is found: these are bright and grey cavity solitons representing the connections between homogeneous and inhomogeneous states.     Magnetoimpedance and stress-impedance effects in amorphous CoFeSiB ribbons at elevated temperatures

    The temperature dependencies of magnetoimpedance (MI) and stress impedance (SI) were analyzed both in the as-quenched soft magnetic Co68.5Fe4Si15B12.5 ribbons and after their heat treatment at 425 K for 8 h. It was found that MI shows weak changes under the influence of mechanical stresses in the temperature range of 295-325 K and SI does not exceed 10%. At higher temperatures, the MI changes significantly under the influence of mechanical stresses, and SI variations reach 30%. Changes in the magnetoelastic properties for the different temperatures were taken into consideration for the discussion of the observed MI and SI responses. The solutions for the problem of thermal stability of the magnetic sensors working on the principles of MI or SI were discussed taking into account the joint contributions of the temperature and the applied mechanical stresses. © 2020 by the authors.KK-2019/00101Funding: This work was supported in part by the Basque Country government under Elkartek program, grant KK-2019/00101

    Permalloy-Based Thin Film Structures: Magnetic Properties and the Giant Magnetoimpedance Effect in the Temperature Range Important for Biomedical Applications

    Permalloy-based thin film structures are excellent materials for sensor applications. Temperature dependencies of the magnetic properties and giant magneto-impedance (GMI) were studied for Fe19Ni81-based multilayered structures obtained by the ion-plasma sputtering technique. Selected temperature interval of 25 degrees C to 50 degrees C corresponds to the temperature range of functionality of many devices, including magnetic biosensors. A (Cu/FeNi)(5)/Cu/(Cu/FeNi)(5) multilayered structure with well-defined traverse magnetic anisotropy showed an increase in the GMI ratio for the total impedance and its real part with temperature increased. The maximum of the GMI of the total impedance ratio Delta Z/Z = 56% was observed at a frequency of 80 MHz, with a sensitivity of 18%/Oe, and the maximum GMI of the real part Delta R/R = 170% at a frequency of 10 MHz, with a sensitivity of 46%/Oe. As the magnetization and direct current electrical resistance vary very little with the temperature, the most probable mechanism of the unexpected increase of the GMI sensitivity is the stress relaxation mechanism associated with magnetoelastic anisotropy.This work was supported in part by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research under grants mol nr no. 16-32-50054 and by the ELKARTEK grant KK-2016/00030 of the Basque Country Government

    We study the statistics of optical data transmission in a noisy nonlinear fiber channel with a weak dispersion management and zero average dispersion. Applying path integral methods we have found exactly the probability density functions of channel output both for a non-linear noisy channel and for a linear channel with additive and multiplicative noise.     Appearance of bound states in random potentials with applications to soliton theory

    We analyze the stochastic creation of a single bound state (BS) in a random potential with a compact support. We study both the Hermitian Schrödinger equation and non-Hermitian Zakharov-Shabat systems. These problems are of special interest in the inverse scattering method for Korteveg–de-Vries and the nonlinear Schrödinger equations since soliton solutions of these two equations correspond to the BSs of the two aforementioned linear eigenvalue problems. Analytical expressions for the average width of the potential required for the creation of the first BS are given in the approximation of delta-correlated Gaussian potential and additionally different scenarios of eigenvalue creation are discussed for the non-Hermitian case
