Delooping the functor calculus tower

We study a connection between mapping spaces of bimodules and of infinitesimal bimodules over an operad. As main application and motivation of our work, we produce an explicit delooping of the manifold calculus tower associated to the space of smooth maps $D^{m}\rightarrow D^{n}$ of discs, $n\geq m$, avoiding any given multisingularity and coinciding with the standard inclusion near $\partial D^{m}$. In particular, we give a new proof of the delooping of the space of disc embeddings in terms of little discs operads maps with the advantage that it can be applied to more general mapping spaces

XAFS spectroscopy. I. Extracting the fine structure from the absorption spectra

Three independent techniques are used to separate fine structure from the absorption spectra, the background function in which is approximated by (i) smoothing spline. We propose a new reliable criterion for determination of smoothing parameter and the method for raising of stability with respect to k_min variation; (ii) interpolation spline with the varied knots; (iii) the line obtained from bayesian smoothing. This methods considers various prior information and includes a natural way to determine the errors of XAFS extraction. Particular attention has been given to the estimation of uncertainties in XAFS data. Experimental noise is shown to be essentially smaller than the errors of the background approximation, and it is the latter that determines the variances of structural parameters in subsequent fitting.Comment: 16 pages, 7 figures, for freeware XAFS analysis program, see http://www.crosswinds.net/~klmn/viper.htm

Deconvolution problems in x-ray absorption fine structure

A Bayesian method application to the deconvolution of EXAFS spectra is considered. It is shown that for purposes of EXAFS spectroscopy, from the infinitely large number of Bayesian solutions it is possible to determine an optimal range of solutions, any one from which is appropriate. Since this removes the requirement for the uniqueness of solution, it becomes possible to exclude the instrumental broadening and the lifetime broadening from EXAFS spectra. In addition, we propose several approaches to the determination of optimal Bayesian regularization parameter. The Bayesian deconvolution is compared with the deconvolution which uses the Fourier transform and optimal Wiener filtering. It is shown that XPS spectra could be in principle used for extraction of a one-electron absorptance. Hochschild-Pirashvili homology on suspensions and representations of Out(Fn)Out(F_n)

We show that the Hochschild-Pirashvili homology on any suspension admits the so called Hodge splitting. For a map between suspensions $f\colon \Sigma Y\to \Sigma Z$, the induced map in the Hochschild-Pirashvili homology preserves this splitting if $f$ is a suspension. If $f$ is not a suspension, we show that the splitting is preserved only as a filtration. As a special case, we obtain that the Hochschild-Pirashvili homology on wedges of circles produces new representations of $Out(F_n)$ that do not factor in general through $GL(n,Z)$. The obtained representations are naturally filtered in such a way that the action on the graded quotients does factor through $GL(n,Z)$

Експериментальне обґрунтування і досвід використання ксенорогівки при лікувально-тектонічній кератопластиці у хворих із виразками рогівки різної етіології

The aim of the work. Substantiation of expediency of use of cryolophilized xenographer of pig in medical-tectonic keratoplasty in patients with corneal ulcers of different etiology.Materials and Methods. In the experiment, in order to study the effectiveness of different methods of preserving the pig’s cornea, various methods of preserving donor crows were used: the wet chamber according to V. P. Filatov, lyophilized drying, deep freezing (–196 oC) without cryoprotectant, deep freezing with cryoprotector, deep freezing with cryoprotector and subsequent lyophilization. Experimental xenoceratoplasty, using intralamellar keratoplasty, was carried out on Vietnamese swine and rabbits of the chinchilla breed. Time of observation of animals – 6 months. Therapeutic or therapeutic-tectonic keratoplasty with keratocoenomplant according to the method of N.O. Puchkivska was performed by patients with complications of inflammatory diseases of the cornea and with burn injuries of the cornea.Results and Discussion. The conducted researches were established that the best stored structure of the cornea during deep freezing with the cryoprotectant, and the subsequent lyophilization almost does not affect its structure. As a result of studying the features of the reaction of the eye to the transplantation of xenogeneous cobblestones for different methods of preservation with subsequent allotransplantation in the cornea of the pig or xenotransplantation in the cornea of the rabbit, it was found that the reaction of the pig’s cornea itself to the pig donor coronary allograft and the response to the xenograft in the cornea of the rabbit was insignificant. According to the results of clinical application in patients with ulcerative complications of inflammatory diseases of the cornea and eyes burns, it was determined that the postoperative period was characterized by a calm flow. The term xenoceratome implant resorption usually lasted from 3 to 8 weeks. Complete healing of the ulcer, the closure of the fistula with the formation of clouded cornea in the area of defect with moderate vascularization was achieved in all patients. All patients with burn eyes managed to keep the cornea from perforation, to keep an eye and a feeling of light with a further perspective o f restoration of sight. The best results of the canine preservation of the pig’s cornea were observed with its deep freezing with the cryoprotectant and subsequentlyophilization. The results of the clinical application of keratoceno implant indicate the expediency and promise of its use in patients with ulcerative complications of inflammatory diseases and after burn injury to the cornea.Цель работы: обоснование целесообразности использования криолиофилизированной ксенороговицы свиньи при лечебнотектонической кератопластике у больных с язвами роговицы различной этиологии.Материалы и методы. В эксперименте с целью изучения эффективности различных методов консервирования роговицы свиньи были использованы различные методы консервирования донорских роговиц: влажная камера по В. П. Филатову, лиофилизированное высушивание, глубокая заморозка (-196 0С) без криопротектора, глубокое замораживание с криопротектором, глубокое замораживание с криопротектором и последующей лиофилизацией. Экспериментальная ксенокератопластика по методике интраламелярной кератопластики была проведена на вьетнамских свиньях и кроликах породы Шиншилла. Срок наблюдения за животными – 6 месяцев. Лечебная или лечебнотектоническая кератопластика кератоксеноимплантатом по методике Н. А. Пучковской проведена больным с осложнениями воспалительных заболеваний роговицы и с ожоговыми повреждениями роговицы.Результаты исследований и их обсуждение. По результатам проведенных исследований установлено, что лучше сохраняется структура роговицы при глубоком замораживании с криопротектором, а следующая лиофилизация почти не влияет на ее структуру. В результате изучения особенностей реакции глаза на трансплантацию ксеногенних роговиц при различных методах консервирования с последующей аллотрансплантацией в роговицу свиньи или ксенотрансплантация в роговицу кролика установлено, что реакция глаза роговицы свиней на аллотрансплантат донорской роговицы свиньи и реакция на ксенотрансплантат в роговицу кролика была незначительной. По результатам клинического применения у больных с язвенными осложнениями воспалительных заболеваний роговицы и ожогов глаз установлено, что послеоперационный период отличался спокойным течением. Срок рассасывания ксенокератоимплантата обычно длился от 3 до 8 недель. Полное заживление язвы, закрытие фистулы с образованием помутнения роговицы в области дефекта с умеренной васкуляризацией было достигнуто у всех больных. У всех больных с ожогами глаз удалось сохранить роговицу от перфорации, сохранить глаз и светоощущение с последующей перспективой восстановления зрения. Лучшие результаты консервирования роговицы свиньи наблюдались при ее глубоком замораживании с криопротектором и последующей лиофилизацией. Результаты клинического применения кератоксеноимплантата свидетельствуют о целесообразности и перспективности его применения у больных при язвенных осложнениях воспалительных заболеваний и после ожоговых повреждений роговицы.Мета роботи: обґрунтувати доцільність використання кріоліофілізованої ксенорогівки свині при лікувально-тектонічній кератопластиці у хворих із виразками рогівки різної етіології.Матеріали і методи. В експерименті з метою вивчення ефективності різних методів консервування рогівки свині були використані різні методи консервування донорських рогівок: волога камера за В. П. Філатовим, ліофілізоване висушування, глибоке заморожування (-196 оС) без кріопротектора, глибоке заморожування з кріопротектором, глибоке заморожування з кріопротектором і наступною ліофілізацією. Експериментальна ксенокератопластика за методикою інтраламелярної кератопластики була проведена на в’єтнамських свинях і кроликах породи Шиншила. Термін спостереження за тваринами – 6 місяців. Лікувальну або лікувально-тектонічну кератопластику кератоксеноімплантатом за методикою Н. О. Пучківської проведено хворим із ускладненнями запальних захворювань рогівки та з опіковими пошкодженнями рогівки.Результати досліджень та їх обговорення. За результатами проведених досліджень встановлено, що найкраще зберігається структура рогівки при глибокому заморожуванні з кріопротектором, а наступна ліофілізація майже не впливає на її структуру. У результаті вивчення особливостей реакції ока на трансплантацію ксеногенних рогівок при різних методах консервування з наступною алотрансплантацією в рогівку свині чи ксенотрансплантацією в рогівку кролика встановлено, що реакція ока рогівки свинок на алотрансплантат донорської рогівки свині та реакція на ксенотрансплантат у рогівку кролика була незначною. За результатами клінічного застосування у хворих із виразковими ускладненнями запальних захворювань рогівки і опіків очей встановлено, що післяопераційний період відрізнявся спокійним перебігом. Термін розсмоктування ксенокератоімплантата зазвичай тривав від 3 до 8 тижнів. Повне загоєння виразки, закриття фістули з утворенням помутніння рогівки в ділянці дефекту із помірною васкуляризацією було досягнуто у всіх хворих. У всіх хворих з опіками очей вдалось зберегти рогівку від перфорації, око і світловідчуття з подальшою перспективою відновлення зору. Найкращі результати консервування рогівки свині спостерігались при її глибокому заморожуванні з кріопротектором та подальшою ліофілізацією. Результати клінічного застосування кератоксеноімплантата свідчать про доцільність і перспективність його застосування у хворих при виразкових ускладненнях запальних захворювань та після опікових пошкоджень рогівки

In this article the author examines the system of organization of emergency medical care for life-threatening conditions and diseases at the scene and en route to medical facilities. The concept of medical emergency is defined and a brief history of the development of this phenomenon is provided. The author examines six aspects of the ambulance, according to the “Star of Life”. Other aspects under consideration - the training of paramedics, types of urgent actions carried out directly at the scene, the types of paramedics according to the level of medical training and the dominant international types of organization of paramedical services.В данной статье автор рассматривает систему организации экстренной медицинской помощи при угрожающих жизни состояниях и заболеваниях на месте происшествия и в пути следования в лечебно-профилактические учреждения. Определяется понятие и приводится краткая история развития «скорой медицинской помощи». Согласно «Звезде Жизни», автор анализирует 6 аспектов системы скорой медицинской помощи. Другие рассматриваемые аспекты – это подготовка персонала станций скорой медицинской помощи, виды неотложных мероприятий, проводимых непосредственно на месте происшествия, категории парамедиков по уровню медицинской подготовки и доминирующие международные виды организации службы парамедиков

Гирудотерапия – путь к экологичной медицине

The modern medicine in its actual form has existed only about 100 years. It has reached very significant results in the treatment of health states, requiring urgent medical asisstance, with the help of synthetic drugs. In a relatively short period of time an impressive pharmaceutical industry that sells immense amounts of drugs has been created. At the same time when the synthetic drugs are used in the treatment of chronic diseases, besides the positive results, a lot of undesirable effects can be observed. The last generations have been “massively attacked” with a big variety of such drugs. These methods of treatment have caused an “ecological disaster” in the human organism and leaded to the different types of allergy and toxic reactions. According to the medical literature about 50% of diseases are iatrogenic. So, in the modern medicine has appeared such a concept as a “drug – induced disease”. Taking into consideration the high percentage of such pathological processes, the scientists and physicians have started to study more intensively the folk medicine which has by far less side effects. Hirudotherapy is a part of it. A medical leech has many positive effects on the human body without “contaminating” it with different synthetic substances. This method is recommended for the treatment of many systemic diseases. Hirudotherapy is practiced in many European and CIS countries. In 1990 the International Association of Hirudotherapists was created, and in 1991 the First International Congress was held. The latest scientific researches prove that the modern and folk medicine are very well combined with each other. In conclusion we can say with confidence that the treatment with leeches has its special role. This ancient method of therapy has an enormous potential both from practical (it can be used in applied medicine) and scientific point of view. So, hirudotherapy must take its deserved place in the modern medicine in the Republic of Moldova as well.Современная медицина в своём нынешнем виде существует не более 100 лет. Она достигла значительных результатов в лечении состояний, требующих неотложной медицинской помощи, посредством синтетических медикаментов. За относительно короткий период была создана внушительная фармацевтическая индустрия, поставляющая огромное количество лекарств. В то же время при хронических заболеваниях, для лечения которых применяются синтетические препараты, наравне с позитивными результатами, наблюдается и много нежелательных эффектов. Последние поколения были «массивно обстреляны» различными препаратами такого типа. Эти методы лечения вызвали «экологическую катастрофу» на уровне организма, что привело к появлению разных типов аллергии и токсических реакций. По данным литературы около 50% заболеваний являются ятрогенными, в связи с этим в медицине появилось такое понятие как «медикаментозная болезнь». Принимая во вниманиe большой масштаб этих патологических процессов, учёные и врачи направили свои усилия в сторону народной медицины, где наблюдается гораздо меньшее количество побочных реакций. К категории последней и относится гирудотерапия. Лечебная пиявка оказываeт ряд положительных воздействий на организм человека, не «загрязняя» его различными синтетическими веществами. Этот метод лечения показан при многих системных заболеваниях. Гирудотерапия практикуется во многих европейских странах и СНГ. В 1990г. была создана Международная Ассоциация Гирудологов, а в 1991г. прошёл Первый Международный Конгресс. Последние научные исследования доказывают, что традиционная и народная медицина очень хорошо взаимно дополняются. В заключении можно с уверенностью сказать, что лечение пиявками имеет особое значение. Этот древнейший метод терапии обладает огромным потенциалом, как с практической, так и с научной точки зрения. Гирудотерапия должна занять своё достойное место в современной медицине и в Республике Молдова

M. Kontsevich's graph complex and the Grothendieck-Teichmueller Lie algebra

We show that the zeroth cohomology of M. Kontsevich's graph complex is isomorphic to the Grothendieck-Teichmueller Lie algebra grt_1. The map is explicitly described. This result has applications to deformation quantization and Duflo theory. We also compute the homotopy derivations of the Gerstenhaber operad. They are parameterized by grt_1, up to one class (or two, depending on the definitions). More generally, the homotopy derivations of the (non-unital) E_n operads may be expressed through the cohomology of a suitable graph complex. Our methods also give a second proof of a result of H. Furusho, stating that the pentagon equation for grt_1-elements implies the hexagon equation

Spontaneous symmetry breaking in amnestically induced persistence

We investigate a recently proposed non-Markovian random walk model characterized by loss of memories of the recent past and amnestically induced persistence. We report numerical and analytical results showing the complete phase diagram, consisting of 4 phases, for this system: (i) classical nonpersistence, (ii) classical persistence (iii) log-periodic nonpersistence and (iv) log-periodic persistence driven by negative feedback. The first two phases possess continuous scale invariance symmetry, however log-periodicity breaks this symmetry. Instead, log-periodic motion satisfies discrete scale invariance symmetry, with complex rather than real fractal dimensions. We find for log-periodic persistence evidence not only of statistical but also of geometric self-similarity.Comment: 4 pages, 2 color fig
