It has the highest Tc value among the intermetalic compounds. MgB2 has many properties make it very attractive for superconducting applications; these are large coherence length, high critical current density (Jc), high critical magnetic field (Bc) values. There are several methods developed to produce high quality MgB2 superconducting thin films. Magnetron sputtering system is a widely used method to deposit thin films. In this study, an MgB2/Mg target was produced by using MgB2 and Mg powders with a hot press technique. Prepared sputtering target used to grow MgB2 superconducting thin films on Al2O3 polycrystal and LaAlO3 single crystal substrate by a high vacuum magnetron sputtering system. To enhance the superconducting properties of as-grown films and to increase the crystal quality of the as-grown film an ex-situ anneal process was examined. X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) method was used to obtain crystal structure of the grown films. To observe the surface morphology of the films and to measure the thickness of the films Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) images were taken.Electron Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy (EDX) technique was used to identify the chemical contents of the films. Low temperature electrical measurement was done under various magnetic fields to observe the superconducting behavior of prepared films. The effects of ex-situ annealing process were also investigated. It was found that ex-situ annealing process develops the structural and electrical properties of MgB2 thin films

    Predviđanje modula loma i modula elastičnosti toplinski obrađenog drva anatolskog kestena (Castanea sativa) modelom razvrstavanja fuzzy logikom

    In this study, test samples prepared from Anatolian chestnut (Castanea sativa) wood were first exposed to heat treatment at 130, 145, 160, 175, 190 and 205 ºC for 3, 6, 9 and 12 hours. Then the values of the samples of the modulus of rupture (MOR) and modulus of elasticity (MOE) were determined and evaluated by multiple variance analysis. The aim of this study was to establish the effects of heat treatment on the MOR and MOE values of wood samples by using fuzzy logic classifier. Secondly, input and output values and rule base of the fuzzy logic classifier model were built by using the results obtained from the experiment. The developed fuzzy classifier model could predict the MOR and MOE values of test samples at the accuracy levels of 92.64 % and 90.35 %, respectively. The model could be especially employed in manufacturing stages of timber industry.U radu se prikazuju istraživanju u kojima su, prije svega, pripremljeni uzorci od drva kestena te izloženi zagrijavanju na temperaturama od 130, 145, 160, 175, 190 i 205 ºC tijekom 3, 6, 9 i 12 sati. Nakon toga uzorcima su određeni modul loma (MOR) i modul elastičnosti (MOE) te je napravljena analiza varijanci dobivenih vrijednosti. Cilj provedene studije bio je utvrditi učinak toplinske obrade drva na MOR i MOE vrijednosti drvnih uzoraka uporabom modela razvrstavanja neizrazitom (fuzzy) logikom. Ulazne i izlazne vrijednosti te osnovna pravila modela neizrazitog razvrstavanja defi nirani su uporabom rezultata dobivenih eksperimentom. Razvijeni model neizrazitog (fuzzy) razvrstavanja moguće je primijeniti za predviđanje MOR i MOE vrijednosti drvnih uzoraka s točnošću od 92,64 % i 90,35 %. Model može biti primijenjen u proizvodnim uvjetima, posebice u procesu proizvodnje piljene drvne građe

    Bu araştırma Türkiye’de uygulanan ve “Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı 2013 okul öncesi eğitim program” ve “Amerika Birleşik Devletleri Ohio eyaletinde uygulanan erken öğrenme standartları” öğrenme ve öğretme süreçlerine yansıtılan değerleri karşılaştırmak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmada Nitel araştırma desenlerinden Doküman analizi kullanılmıştır. Kurumların web sayfalarından programlara ve standartlara ulaşılarak içerik analizi yöntemi ile analiz yapılmıştır. MEB 2013 okul öncesi eğitim programı öğretimin planlanması ve uygulanması bölümü ile uygulamada öğretmene rehberlik etmek amacıyla hazırlanan etkinlikler kitabındaki uygulamalar esas alınmıştır. Bu bölümde öğretmenlere veriler yönergeler değerlerle ilişkilendirilerek karşılarına değer ifadeleri yazılmıştır. Ohio’da ise öğretmenlere rehber niteliğinde erken öğrenme standartları uygulama rehberi esas alınmıştır. Bu rehberde yine öğretmenlere verilen yönergeler değerlerle ilişkilendirilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda; “anadile saygı, doğa ve çevre bilinci, kurallara uyma, etkili dinleme, doğru ve güzel konuşma, farklılıklara saygı gösterme, sanat ve estetik değerleri koruma, Işbirliği, özgüven, kitap sevgisi ve sorumluluk alma ortak değerler olarak belirlenmiştir. Ortak değerlerin dışında adalet, aidiyet, aile olma ve ailenin değeri, anlayışlı olma, bağımsızlık, bağlılık, bilgiye değer verme, bireysel ve toplumsal kültür mirasına değer verme, birlik beraberlik, cesaret, çok kültürlülük, yardım etme, uyum ve bunların dışında bir çok değerin Ohio eğitim standartlarına yansıtıldığı görülmüştürThis study was conducted to compare the values called up in 2013 preschool education program of the Ministry of National Education (MNE) applied in Turkey with those called up in learning and teaching processes of early learning standards applied in Ohio State of the United States of America. In the study, the document analysis, which is one of the qualitative research patterns, was used. The curricula and standards were reached on the web sites of institutions and they are processed with content analysis method. The research is based on the section regarding the planning and application of teaching in 2013 preschool education program of MNE and applications in the activities book prepared to guide the teachers in practice. In this section, the instructions provided to teachers are associated with the values and value expressions are written next to them. When it comes to Ohio, application guide for early learning standards prepared for teachers is grounded on. In this guide, the instructions provided to teachers are associated with values again. According to the results of the research respect for mother tongue, natural and environmental consciousness, following the rules, respect for differences, arts, protecting aesthetic assets, collaboration, self-confidence, bibliophily and taking responsibility are determined as common values. Apart from common values, it is seen that numerous values such as justice, belonging, being a family and value of family, being understanding, independence, loyalty, valuing knowledge, valuing individual and social cultural heritage, unity and solidarity, courage, multiculturalism, helping, rapport and many others are reflected on Ohio education standards

    EXAMINE THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE LEVELS OF LIFE SATISFACTION AND LEISURE TIME SATISFACTION OF FOREIGN STUDENTS STUDY AT ERCIYES UNIVERSITY, TURKEY

    The aim of the study is to examine the relationship between the levels of life satisfaction and leisure time satisfaction of foreign students study at Erciyes University. The research group totally consists of 220 foreign students, 147 of them are male and 73 of them are female students study at Erciyes University. In order to obtain lesiure time satisfaction level data, ''Leisure Time Satisfaction Scale'' developed by Karlı et al. In 2008 and 'Life Satisfaction Scale' developed in 1985 by Diener et al. There was no significant difference between the groups in terms of gender variance, while there was a meaningful difference between the groups according to the place they live, the sporting situation, the type of activity they attended and the way they affect their classes. There was an important difference found between the groups according to their gender, sporting activities, activity types they attended and their influence on their courses, while there was no significant difference found between the groups according to their residence status in life satisfaction levels. There was a positive relationship found between the leisure time satisfaction levels and the life satisfaction levels of the foreign students who participated in the study. As a result, as the level of satisfaction of foreign students who study at Erciyes University increases then their level of satisfaction also increases.  Article visualizations

    Fresh and hardened properties of steel fiber reinforced concrete produced with fibers of different lengths and diameters

    Concrete is a brittle material which has a low tensile strength and a low tensile strain capacity. These weak points of concrete can be resolved by including fibers made of different materials with high technical specifications. This special type of concrete is known as Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete (SFRC) and exhibits superior properties in terms of ductility, fracture energy, toughness, strength and durability due to the addition of steel fibers when compared to conventional concrete. SFRC has a varied application area. In practice, steel fibers which have different lengths, diameters, and aspect ratios are used. These variable characteristics of steel fibers have highly influence on the performance of SFRC. The goal of this study is aimed at creating a standard foresight in determining the fiber types by comparing the steel fiber types which have the same tensile strengths and different lengths, diameters, and aspect ratios. For this purpose, the series of SFRC specimens which have the same concrete mixing ratios were produced by using steel fibers which have the same tensile strengths and different lengths, diameters, and aspect ratios. The fresh properties of the produced SFRC specimens were determined by the Slump test. The hardened properties were determined by compressive and flexural strength tests. It was shown that the fresh and hardened properties of the SFRC specimens were changed by steel fibers that had the same shapes, tensile strengths and different lengths, diameters, and aspect ratios. The optimum steel fiber types were determined according to the targeted fresh and hardened properties of SFRC
