Pengaruh Model Discovery Learning pada Materi Zat Aditif dan Zat Adiktif terhadap Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis dan Hasil Belajar Siswa SMP
The purpose of this observe is to decide the effect of the Discovery Learning model on the critical thinking skills and learning outcomes of junior high school students for additives and addictive substances. This have a look at is a quasi-experimental study experiment the usege of design non-equivalent control group design. The specimens in this study were classes VIIIA and VIIIB recognized by means of centered sampling. Quantitative data were acquired from pre-test and post-test results for critical thinking skills and learning outcomes, and then tested using an independent sample T-test. Data analysis revealed that the sig2 tail was greater than 0.05. This means that there is a difference between the mean of the experimental class and control class, and the mean of the experimental class is higher than control class. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the Discovery Learning learning model has a great influence on the critical thinking ability and learning outcomes of junior high school students

GaAs(111)A and B in hydrazine sulfide solutions : extreme polarity dependence of surface adsorption processes
Chemical bonds formed by hydrazine-sulfide treatment of GaAs(111) were
studied by synchrotron photoemission spectroscopy. At the B surface, the top
arsenic atoms are replaced by nitrogen atoms, while GaAs(111)A is covered by
sulfur, also bonded to underlying gallium, despite the sulfide molar
concentration being 103 times smaller than that of the hydrazine. This extreme
dependence on surface polarity is explained by competitive adsorption processes
of HS- and OH- anions and of hydrazine molecules, on Ga- adsorption sites,
which have distinct configurations on the A and B surfaces
Absence of an intrinsic value for the surface recombination velocity in doped semiconductors
A self-consistent expression for the surface recombination velocity and
the surface Fermi level unpinning energy as a function of light excitation
power () is presented for n- and p-type semiconductors doped above the
10 cm range. Measurements of on p-type GaAs films using a
novel polarized microluminescence technique are used to illustrate two limiting
cases of the model. For a naturally oxidized surface is described by a
power law in whereas for a passivated surface varies
logarithmically with . Furthermore, the variation in with surface state
density and bulk doping level is found to be the result of Fermi level
unpinning rather than a change in the intrinsic surface recombination velocity.
It is concluded that depends on throughout the experimentally
accessible range of excitation powers and therefore that no instrinsic value
can be determined. Previously reported values of on a range of
semiconducting materials are thus only valid for a specific excitation power.Comment: 10 pages, 7 figure
Case Studies of Ergonomic Interventions in Automotive Parts Distribution Operations
Ergonomic job analysis, intervention design, and intervention implementation are essential components of an ergonomics program designed to reduce worker exposure to risk factors associated with musculoskeletal disorders. As part of a 4-year study to reduce overexertion injuries in the service parts division of a major automaker, intervention case studies were identified that could be used at multiple facilities across the division. Interventions were developed and implemented. The three case studies include 1) self-elevating powered vehicle for transporting parts throughout the facility and for reaching to high bin locations; 2) lift and tilt pallet jacks for packing small parts into large bin-like containers; and 3) single-level telescoping conveyor used for delivering hand-held totes for subsequent sorting operations. Several analysis methods were used to assess worker exposure before and after intervention implementation (biomechanical analysis, posture analysis, worker interviews, and activity analysis). Following implementation, a decrease in exposure to risk factors for musculoskeletal disorders was documented. Worker interviews revealed acceptance and agreement that risk factors associated with the targeted tasks were reduced. Each case study includes a description of the implementation hurdles and can serve as both primary and secondary prevention of musculoskeletal disorders. Future work should document worker health and/or symptom changes as well as changes in risk factor exposure.Peer Reviewedhttp://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/45011/1/10926_2004_Article_496314.pd
Qualitative Environmental Health Research: An Analysis of the Literature, 1991-2008
BACKGROUND. Recent articles have advocated for the use of qualitative methods in environmental health research. Qualitative research uses nonnumeric data to understand people's opinions, motives, understanding, and beliefs about events or phenomena. OBJECTIVE. In this analysis of the literature, I report the use of qualitative methods and data in the study of the relationship between environmental exposures and human health. DATA SOURCES. A primary search on ISI Web of Knowledge/Web of Science for peer-reviewed journal articles dated from 1991 through 2008 included the following three terms: qualitative, environ*, and health. Inclusion and exclusion criteria are described. DATA EXTRACTION. Searches resulted in 3,155 records. Data were extracted and findings of articles analyzed to determine where and by whom qualitative environmental health research is conducted and published, the types of methods and analyses used in qualitative studies of environmental health, and the types of information qualitative data contribute to environmental health. DATA SYNTHESIS. Ninety-one articles met inclusion criteria. These articles were published in 58 different journals, with a maximum of eight for a single journal. The results highlight a diversity of disciplines and techniques among researchers who used qualitative methods to study environmental health, with most studies relying on one-on-one interviews. Details of the analyses were absent from a large number of studies. Nearly all of the studies identified increased scientific understanding of lay perceptions of environmental health exposures. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS. Qualitative data are published in traditionally quantitative environmental health studies to a limited extent. However, this analysis demonstrates the potential of qualitative data to improve understanding of complex exposure pathways, including the influence of social factors on environmental health, and health outcomes.National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (R25 ES012084, P42ES007381
Pelatihan Mindfulness Teaching untuk Meningkatkan Kesejahteraan Subjektif Guru Sekolah Inklusi
This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of mindfulness teaching training in improving the subjective well-being of teachers in an inclusive school in Yogyakarta. This research used non-randomized pretest-posttest control group design. There were 22 respondents which divided into 11 respondents for treatment group and 11 respondents for control group. They were asked to complete a survey consists of the satisfaction with life scale (SWLS) and positive and negative scale (PANAS) before and after experiment. The results showed that there is a significant difference between the subjective well-being of inclusive school teachers group given mindfulness teaching training and that of the teachers in the teachers group without mindfulness teaching training. This finding indicates that mindfulness teaching training was effective to improve inclusive school teachers’ subjective well-being
