    Effectiveness of Picture Stories in Value Education and Language Skills inIndonesian Language Learning. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness ofpicture stories to improve learning achievement in value education (honesty,patience, and religious worship) and language skills (listening and reading) inIndonesian language learning. This study was a quasi-experimental studyemploying the pretest-posttest control group design. The population comprised all114 Year II students of MIN Tempel Sleman Yogyakarta. The sample, selected bythe random sampling technique, consisted of 70 students, divided into theexperimental group and the control group. The results show that (1) the learningachievement in value education of the students in the experimental group is higherthan that of the students in the control group, and (2) the learning achievement inlanguage skills of the students in the experimental group is higher than that of thestudents in the control group. It can be concluded that the use of picture stories iseffective for value education and Indonesian language skills

    Empati Terhadap Siswa Berkebutuhan Khusus: Ditinjau Dari Jenjang Pendidikan Inklusi Dan Jenis Kelamin

    Empathy is a part of important things to support students with special needs for their interpersonal development. Moreover, it is also a prominent factor of student\u27s mental health in inclusive school. This research aimed to investigate student\u27s empathy based on their educational level. The methods of this research was quantitative.,the instruments used were Empathy Scale from Index of Empathy for Children and Adolescents. Anova and t-test were used to analyze data. The results showed that there were differences empathy based on educational level (F = 435.541 p < .001). Empathy on Junior High School was higher than of other educational levels. Empathy on Junior High School (M = 38.5; SD = 6.135 ), University (M = 29.27; SD = 3.927), Senior High School (M = 20.89; SD = 3.406), Elementary School (M = 14.40; SD = 6.509 ). The results showed that there were differences empathy based on sex (t = 3.940 p< .001). The results showed that empathy on female students (M = 27.33 SD = 9.740) higher than male students (M = 23.75 SD = 9.581)

    Through applying propaganda rhetoric in speaking skill learning at senior high school

    Propaganda Rhetoric Learning is relevant with strengthening students’ character at school. One of characters that can be strengthened is religious character. Religious character education can be seen either in general school or in religion-based school. Then, the purposes of writing this paper are (1) to describe propaganda rhetoric learning on speaking competency at a senior high school, (2) to describe the relevance of propaganda rhetoric learning in students’ book of Indonesian Language and Literature. The interest toward Language Sciences and Culture 12 1 INTRODUCTION Education is believed to build the intelligence as well as the personality of the human to be better stage. However, what would happen if education is solely interested in intellectuals without building the character of their students? The result is moral damages and value violations. Ultimately, this kind of education will be like a robot, minded, but not characterized, empty soul. The deterioration of the current behavior has been widely reported by some television stations even in newspapers. For example, exemplary problem of the officials who are said to be fond of swearing and mocking and even painful as shown by law expert of political communication Emrus Sihombing in www.tribunnews.com/2015/03/26 stated that "Ahok's ethics violation is more dangerous than corruption ". When the corruption is the only material impact, the ethics that are being degenerated are mental, moral and behavioral. Related to the use of language in communicating, Ahok can be categorized as ignorant in ethics. This research belongs to descriptive qualitative research. Data of this research are propaganda rhetoric utterances made by students. Data are collected by means of taking notes, selecting compatible data and taking notes on data cards. Data validation technique uses source and technique triangulation. Data are analyzed by means of analyzing participant’s perspective with strategies which are interactive and adaptable. The results of this research are (1) 12th Grade 2013 Curriculum with the interest of Indonesian Language subject is speaking (formal and non-formal), teachers can give an assignment to speak in the form of propaganda (propaganda rhetoric), (2) Learning speaking is relevant with KD (Basic Competency) in 2013 curriculum

    Economic Empowerment for Poor Women Using Grameen Bank Model in Indonesia

    This research aimed at analysing the contribution of Islamic Microfinance which used Grameen Bank model to the economic empowerment and poverty alleviation in Cianjur Regency. This research used quantitative approach. Primary data were collected using questionnaires. While the secondary data were derived from the annual report of the cooperative, Central Bureau of Statistics of Cianjur, journals and other related literature. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The number of samples used was 100 female poor respondents from all female members of Cooperative Dhuafa Mitra in 2017, at Mande branch office, Cianjur Regency. The analytical technique used was Spearman correlation, and Kruskal-Wallis free sample test. This research concluded that Islamic Microfinance using Grameen Bank model had positive contribution to economic empowerment of poor women. Financial capital and social capital were the keys to success in empowering the poor community. Islamic microfinance using Grameen model also had a significant relationship with poverty alleviation. This article also proved that poverty could be overcome if economic development is run based on human development. The results of this study strengthen the conclusions of Nasim Shah Shirazi and Aman Ullah Khan (2009), Rajesh Kumar Shastri (2009), Muhammad Yunus (2008), Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (2008), Mohammad Anwarul Kabir, Suman Dey and Mohammad Shamsal Islam (2012) Sadegh Bakhtiari (2006), as well as Musa bin Mansour and Tawfiq Brahm Chaouch (2013) who stated that micro-loans are able to create self-employment opportunities and have an impact on rural poverty reduction and unemployment. The results of this study are different from the conclusions of JUJ Onwumere (2012), Anis Chowdhury (2009), Dan Matovu (2006) and Katsushi S.     Pengaruh Model Generative Learning terhadap Kemampuan Analisis Siswa pada Materi Sistem Saraf Manusia

    Analysis is a basic ability for students to think critically and include one of the high cognitive that were important to mastered students. Where the ability of high-level thinking was one of the goals of education in the 21st century. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Generative Learning model on the Ability of Student Analysis on Matter of Human Nervous System in Class XI IPA SMA Muara Lakitan Musi Rawas Regency. This research used Quasi Experiment method of Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population of this research was the students of class XI IPA with sampling technique used nonprobability of purposive sampling. With the sample of research class XI IPA 1 and XI IPA 2 which amounted to 69 students. Technique of data collection used multiple choice test amounting to 15 question, observation of model execution, field notes and documentation. Based on analysis result of student\u27s analysis ability showed that mastery of analysis ability indicator in experiment class 67,7% higher than control class that was 55,3%. The improvement of analytical ability can be seen from the N-gain value where the experimental class has a gain value of 0,53 with medium category higher than control class that is 0.19 with low category. The results of hypothesis testing using t test obtained tcount = 3.969 and ttable = 1.670 with 95% confidence level ( = 0.05). The data shows that tcount&gt; ttable, then H0 is rejected and Ha accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the Generative Learning model has an effect on the students\u27 analysis ability in the XI grade of SMA Negeri Muara Lakitan of Musi Rawas Regency

    Salah satu bentuk pembelajaran kontekstual yang dilakukan dalam mata kuliah taksonomi vertebrata adalah melakukan penelitian proyek yang membahas kaitan antara etnozoologi di daerah asal mahasiswa dengan ilmu taksonomi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk 1) mendeskripsikan materi taksonomi vertebrata yang dapat dipelajari dari kegiatan penelitian proyek etnozoologi; 2) mendeskripsikan ragam etnozoologi yang digunakan dalam kegiatan penelitian proyek etnozoologi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yang menggunakan bahan berupa data-data dari hasil penelitian proyek mahasiswa pada semester Gasal 2012/2013. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan adalah melakukan telaah dan analisis data. Hasil penelitian ini adalah 1) materi taksonomi vertebrata yang dapat dipelajari dari kegiatan penelitian proyek etnozoolog antara lain materi pisces, amphibia, reptilia, aves, dan mammalia; 2) ragam etnozoologi yang digunakan dalam kegiatan penelitian proyek etnozoologi antara lain hewan sebagai bahan pangan, simbol/mitos/agama/seni budaya, dan ornamen/dekorasi/peralata

    Lama Fermentasi Terhadap Mutu Cocoghurt Menggunakan Enterecoccus Faecalis Up-11 Yang Diisiolasi Dari Tempoyak

    Coconut milk is usually used as condiment for production various Indonesia traditional cuisine coconut milk can be also used as raw material for making cocoghurt because of it is high nutrional value. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of fermentation time on the quality of cocoghurt . The research used a Completely Randommized Design with five treatments, T1 (duration of fermentasi in three hours), T2 (duration of fermentation in six hours), T3 (duration of fermentation in nine hours), T4 (duration of fermentation in twelve hours) and T5 (duration of fermentation in fifteen hours) with three replication. The data was analyzed using ANNOVA, if any influence continued with DNMRT test at 5%. Results show that fermentation time significantly (P0.05) total solids, ash content, protein content, total lactid acid bacteria, test organoleptik of flavor, and taste. It was concluded that the best quality of cocoghurt. Was obtained in the fermentation time of six hours (T2), that meets the Indonesian yoghurt standard (SNI 102981: 2009) as total lactid acid, fat content, total solids, ash content, and protein content

    Pemanfaatan Mangga Arum Manis dalam Pembuatan Dodol dengan Perbedaan Konsentrasi Tepung Ketan dan Rumput Laut

    Utilization of cotton candy mango in directly encourage mango processing into derived products. One cotton candy mango derivative products is Dodol. Dodol is expected to be high in fiber. Fiber can be obtained from the addition of seaweed in the manufacture Dodol. The purpose of research is the use in the manufacture of cotton candy mango Dodol with different concentrations ofb glutinous rice and seaweed. The study was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 4 replications. Each study uses comparative glutinous rice and seaweed that is different in each treatment including K1R1 (85:15), K2R2 (80:20), K3R3 (75:25) and K4R4 (70: 30). Parameters measured were moisture content, ash, crude fiber, and organoleptic. The best treatmentis K1R1with sticky riceflour ratio of 85% and15% moisture content of grass yield 10.14; ash content of 0.39; crude fiber of 8.30 overall acceptance
