    Integration of Real-Time Clock Unit into Reconfigurable 8051 IP-core

    Metal concentrations in surface sediments of beyler reservoir (Turkey)

    The accumulation of metals (Iron, Aluminium, Zinc, Copper, Manganese, Boron, Chromium, Nickel, Cadmium, Lead) was seasonally (November 2009 to July 2010) measured in sediment samples taken from different areas of Beyler reservoir which is an important water source for irrigation in West Black Sea region (Turkey). Metals in sediment samples were analyzed by ICP-OES. The difference between the stations except for Zn metal (p\0.05) has not been considered as important and a statistical difference between seasons for Fe, Ni metals (p\0.01) and Cu metal (p\0.05) has been observed. The magnitude of metal concentrations in sediment was determined as Aluminium[ Iron[Manganese[Zinc[Chromium[Copper[ Boron[Nickel[Lead[Cadmium. Enrichment factor (EF) for all metals has been calculated (EF\1). In the evaluation done by considering the EF values, it is seen that the metal concentrations found in the Beyler Dam Lake sediment stem from the natural composition of the sediment.The authors are grateful for the financial support of the Scientific and Technological Council of Turkey, TUBITAK (Project No: 109Y013)

    A game theory competition analysis of quadropolistic liner container shipping market

    This paper demonstrates a non-cooperative four rational player’s static game framework to analyse the shipping alliance competition on a particular Far East-Northern Europe liner shipping service loop. The complete-perfect information case of the players is taken into account and the Cournot-Nash equilibrium pure strategy solution concept is utilised. The approach developed in this study focuses on the current liner shipping alliance structure and assumes the long term stability of the current alliances. The research steps are mathematically integrated to different methodological outcomes and numerically tested in the given case study. The results suggested that, in a two year period, additional ship capacity deployment would reduce the competitiveness of the alliances. It is proposed that outcomes of this research will provide significant theoretical contribution to the existing literature and will generate a robust tactical decision support rationale regarding to the capacity deployment problem of the liner container shipping industry

    A Friendship Formed in Ankara: The Founding of the Swiss Turkish Friendship Association (1928-1945)

    The Swiss anthropologist, Prof. Dr. Eugène Pittard was well-known and respected by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the President of the Republic of Turkey. In addition to being Afet İnan's doctoral teacher from the University of Geneva, Prof. Dr. Pittard was also an honorary member of the Turkish Historical Society, the honorary president of the Second Turkish History Congress, and, in 1938, a faculty member at the Ankara Faculty of Languages, History and Geography. While Pittard was not able to visit Turkey again after this date and was thus unable to attend the Third Turkish History Congress in 1943, Prof. Dr. Pittard's interest in Turkey continued after he had returned to Switzerland. In 1945, as a direct result of initiatives by himself and his wife, Hélène Pittard, the Swiss Turkish Friendship Association was established with the aim of helping to develop cultural and economic relations between Turkey and Switzerland. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, Şükrü Saraçoğlu, was appointed as the Association's honorary president. The Pittard couple participated in congresses, presented conferences on various subjects, and published works that introduced the Republic of Turkey to a wider audience during their visits to Turkey in 1928, 1937 and 1938. In 1973, which was also the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the Republic of Turkey, the Swiss-Turkey Friendship Association was founded with the aim of helping to readdress the cultural relations between the two countries. It is notable that this new Association had a similar name to the one founded in 1945. This study tells and discusses the story of the friendship which was born in Ankara, and which forms the basis and foundations of current relations between Turkey and Switzerland

    06.03.2018 tarihli ve 30352 sayılı Resmi Gazetede yayımlanan “Yükseköğretim Kanunu İle Bazı Kanun Ve Kanun Hükmünde Kararnamelerde Değişiklik Yapılması Hakkında Kanun” ile 18.06.2018 tarihli “Lisansüstü Tezlerin Elektronik Ortamda Toplanması, Düzenlenmesi ve Erişime Açılmasına İlişkin Yönerge” gereğince tam metin erişime açılmıştır.Belirsiz ve dinamik hale gelen iş ortamında, çalışanların çalışma sınırlarında aşağıdan yukarı yönde yaptıkları değişiklikler olarak tanımlanan iş şekillendirme alternatif bir iş dizaynı yöntemi olarak ortaya çıkmıştır. Çalışanların iş performansı ve işten ayrılma niyeti endüstriyel ve örgütsel psikolojide çok sayıda araştırma yapılan ve ilgi çeken konular arasındadır. Son yıllarda iş şekillendirme ile birey ve organizasyon açısından büyük öneme sahip birçok iş tutumunun etkişimini ele alan araştırmalar literatürde yerini almaktadır. Bu araştırmada iş şekillendirmenin iş performansına ve işten ayrılma niyetine etkisinde iş tatmini, işe adanmışlık ve örgütsel bağlılık gibi iş tutumlarının aracılık rolü olup olmadığının test edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Ayrıca iş şekillendirme kavramının teorik olarak açıklanması, etkilerinin incelenmesi, öncüllerinin ifade edilmesi diğer amaçlar arasında yer almaktadır. Nicel araştırma perspektifiyle yapılandırılan bu araştırmanın verileri anket formu aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında Türkiye'de ilaç sektöründe 415 satış ve pazarlama çalışanından elde edilen veriler analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmada üç model kurgulanmıştır. Birinci modelde bağımsız değişken iş şekillendirme iken bağımlı değişken iş performansıdır. İşe adanmışlık aracı değişkendir. İkinci modelde bağımsız değişken iş şekillendirme iken bağımlı değişken birinci modelde olduğu gibi iş performansıdır. İş tatmini ise aracı değişkendir. Üçüncü modelde ise bağımsız değişken iş şekillendirme olup bağımlı değişken işten ayrılma niyetidir. Örgütsel bağlılık aracı değişkendir. Toplanan veriler SPSS 22.0 versiyona girilmiştir. Bu aşamadan sonra yapısal eşitlik modeli gerektiren analizler (SPSS) AMOS Graphics 22.0 versiyonu ile, diğer analizler ise SPSS 22.0 versiyonu ile tamamlanmıştır. Yapılan analizler sonucunda; birinci modelle ilgili olarak işe adanmışlığın iş şekillendirme davranışlarının iş performansı üzerindeki etkisinde tam aracılık rolü bulunmuştur. İkinci modelle ilgili olarak iş tatmininin işe şekillendirme davranışlarının iş performansı üzerindeki etkisinde kısmi aracılık rolü bulunmuştur. Üçüncü modelle ilgili olarak ise örgütsel bağlılığın iş şekillendirme davranışlarının işten ayrılma niyeti üzerindeki etkisine tam aracılık ettiği tespit edilmiştir.In face of uncertain and dynamic environments an alternatife form of work design has emerged job crafting defined as proactive bottom-up changes in employees' work boundaries. Employees' job performance and their intention to leave are among the most researched and interesting topics in industrial & organizational psychology. In recent years, researches dealing with the interaction of job crafting and many business attitudes that are of great importance in terms of individuals and organizations take place in the literature. In this study, it is aimed to test whether job attitudes such as job satisfaction, work engagement and organizational commitment have mediating role in the effect of job crafting on job performance and intention to leave. In addition, explaining the concept of job crafting theoretically, examining its effects, and expressing its predecessors are among other purposes. The data of this research, which was structured from a quantitative perspective, was collected through a questionnaire. Within this research, we analyzed data obtained from 415 sales and marketing employees in the pharmaceutical sector in Turkey. Three models were designed in the research. In the first model, the independent variable is job crafting, while the dependent variable is job performance. The work engagement is mediator variable. In the second model, the independent variable is job crafting, while the dependent variable is the job performance as in the first model. Job satisfaction is mediator variable. In the third model, the independent variable is job crafting and the dependent variable is intention to quit. The organizational commitment is mediator variable. The collected data was entered into SPSS version 22.0. After this stage, analyzes requiring structural equation modeling (SPSS) were completed with AMOS Graphics 22.0 version and other analyzes were completed with SPSS 22.0 version. As a result of the analysis; In relation to the first model, it was found that work engagement had a full mediating role in the impact of job crafting behaviors on job performance. For the second model, it was found that job satisfaction had a partial mediating role in the impact of job crafting behaviors on job performance. Regarding the third model, it was found that organizational commitment had a full mediating role in the impact of job crafting behaviors on intention to leave

    Winter sports awareness levels of students taking ski lessons

    This study examines the winter sports awareness levels of the students who take the optional ski course at Erzurum Technical University, Faculty of Sport Sciences, and Faculty of Engineering, according to various variables. The data were collected from the students who took the optional ski course in the 2021-2022 academic year with the help of questionnaires. A total of 145 students, 87 male, and 58 female students, participated in the study using the quantitative research model. A questionnaire technique consisting of two parts was used in the research. In the first part, the "Personal Information Form" was used to determine the demographic characteristics of the participants. The "Winter Sports Awareness Level Scale" was used in the second part. Frequency analysis, kurtosis, skewness test, One-Way Anova analysis, t-test, and correlation analysis were used in the study. The study found a moderate, positive, and significant relationship between the sub-dimensions of winter sports awareness levels. According to the gender variable of the students participating in the study, no significance was found in the awareness levels of winter sports. According to the department variable, in the affective sub-dimension, the engineering faculty students were significantly higher than the sports science faculty students. In addition, according to the variable of where you live, it was determined that the students living in the cities were significantly higher than those living in the villages at the level of winter sports awareness. As a result, it can be said that the gender variable is not a distinguishing variable on the level of winter sports awareness. According to the age variable, it was determined that the winter sports awareness levels of the students aged 23-25 were significantly higher than the students aged 26 and over
