Öğretmen adaylarının bilgi okuryazarlık öz-yeterlikleri ve mesleğe yönelik tutumları
Bu araştırmanın amacı pedagojik formasyon eğitimine kayıtlı öğrencilerin öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutumları ile bilgi okuryazarlığı öz-yeterlikleri arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. Araştırma ilişkisel tarama modeline dayalı olarak yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın evrenini pedagojik formasyon eğitimine kayıtlı olan öğrenciler oluşmaktadır. Örneklemini ise Fırat Üniversitesinde pedagojik formasyon eğitimine dahil olan ve seçkisiz örnekleme (random) yöntemiyle alınan 241 öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Kurbanoğlu, Akkoyunlu ve Umay tarafından geliştirilen Tuncer tarafından Türkçeye uyarlanan Bilgi Okuryazarlığı Öz Yeterlik Ölçeği ve Çetin tarafından geliştirilen Öğretmenlik Mesleğine Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın bulguları incelendiğinde, bireylerin bilgi okuryazarlığı öz-yeterlikleri ile öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutumlarının yüksek olduğu görülmüştür. Ayrıca bireylerin bilgi okuryazarlığı öz-yeterlikleri ile öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutumları arasında zayıf düzeyde ilişkinin olduğu görülmüştür. Tespit edilen ilişkinin niteliğini daha iyi anlamak amacıyla yapılan regresyon analizi sonucunda, bilgi okuryazarlığı öz-yeterliğinin öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutum puanlarına ait toplam varyansın yaklaşık %4’ünü açıkladığı tespit edilmiştir.The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the attitudes of students enrolled in pedagogical formation training to the teaching profession and information literacy self-efficacy. The research was conducted based on the relational screening model. The research's universe consists of students enrolled in pedagogical formation training. The sample of the study consisted of 241 students who took pedagogical formation training at Fırat University and were randomly selected. Tuncerand the Attitude Scale towards Teaching Profession developed by Çetin were used as the data collection tool in the study. When the findings of the study were examined, it was seen that individuals' attitudes towards information literacy self-efficacy and teaching profession were high. It has also been found that individuals have a weak correlation between information literacy self-efficacy and attitudes towards the teaching profession. As a result of the regression analysis conducted to better understand the qualification of the relationship identified, it was found that the information literacy self-sufficiency explained about 4% of the total variance of attitude scores for the teaching profession. RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN SUCCESS ORIENTATION, SELF EFFICACY ON SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND METACOGNITIVE THINKING SKILLS
In this study, relations between metacognition, achievement orientation and scientific research self-efficacy were investigated. Research findings attested that metacognitive thinking skills play a mediator effect between success orientations and self-efficacy on scientific research. Further to that, success orientation rendered a positive impact on the perception of scientific research self-efficacy and success orientations positively affected meta-cognitive thinking. On the other hand, self-efficacy on scientific research had a negatively insignificant effect on meta-cognitive thinking skills. At the end of this research, it can be suggested to instructors that in tracking and learning processes in their class if they employ activities that stimulate metacognitive thinking skills after completing success-orientated activities, positive feedbacks could be obtained on students' perception of scientific research self-efficacy level. Aside from that since the paths between divergent and success orientations; problem solving, decision making, alternative evaluation and metacognitive thinking and conclusion and discussion, method and literature review and perception of scientific research self-efficacy show; it can be argued that these correlational results would be safely employed in academic processes. Öğrenme stilleri ile öğrenmeye yönelik tutum arasındaki ilişki
Bu araştırmanın amacı baskın öğrenme stili ile öğrenmeye yönelik tutum arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. Araştırma Fırat Üniversitesinde öğrenim gören 164 öğrenci üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Veri toplama aracı olarak, Kolb tarafından geliştirilen Kolb Öğrenme Stili Envanteri ile Öğrenmeye Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulguları incelendiğinde, öğrencilerin en fazla Özümseyen, sonra sırasıyla Ayrıştıran, Yerleştiren ve Değiştiren öğrenme stillerine sahip oldukları tespit edilmiştir. Cinsiyet değişkenine göre baskın öğrenme stilleri arasında anlamlı düzeyde görüş farklılığı tespit edilirken öğrenmeye yönelik tutumun sadece beklenti alt boyutunda kadınların lehine anlamlı düzeyde görüş farklılığı tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca öğrenmeye yönelik tutumun yaş ve öğrenim görülen fakülte değişkenine göre anlamlı düzeyde görüş farklılığı olduğu belirlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak, değiştiren öğrenme stiline sahip bireylerin öğrenmeye yönelik tutumlarının diğer öğrenme stiline sahip olan bireylerden yüksek olduğu tespit edilmiştir.The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the dominant learning and attitudes towards learning. The research was carried out on 164 students at Fırat University. Kolb Learning Style Inventory by Kolb and and Learning Attitude Scale were used as data collection tools. When the research findings were examined, it was determined that the students had the most assimilating, then segregating, placing and modifying learning styles respectively. When there was a significant difference in opinion
among the dominant learning styles according to the gender variable, only the expectation sub-dimension of the attitude towards learning was found to be significantly different in favor of the women. In addition, the attitude towards learning was determined to be significantly different according to age and education faculty variables. As a result, it has been determined that the attitudes towards learning of individuals with a changing learning style are higher than those with other learning styles
An analysis on the effect of computer self-efficacy over scientific research self-efficacy and information literacy self-efficacy
Present research investigates reciprocal relations amidst computer self-efficacy, scientific research and information literacy self-efficacy. Research findings have demonstrated that according to standardized regression coefficients, computer self-efficacy has a positive effect on information literacy self-efficacy. Likewise it has been detected that information literacy self-efficacy positively affects scientific research self-efficacy. It has also been designated that computer self-efficacy has a positive impact on scientific research self-efficacy. It is suggested that the findings of present research shall provide assistance in detecting the sequence of computer, information literacy and scientific research skills development courses that shall be integrated into curriculums
Extended Target Tracking and Classification Using Neural Networks
Extended target/object tracking (ETT) problem involves tracking objects which
potentially generate multiple measurements at a single sensor scan.
State-of-the-art ETT algorithms can efficiently exploit the available
information in these measurements such that they can track the dynamic
behaviour of objects and learn their shapes simultaneously. Once the shape
estimate of an object is formed, it can naturally be utilized by high-level
tasks such as classification of the object type. In this work, we propose to
use a naively deep neural network, which consists of one input, two hidden and
one output layers, to classify dynamic objects regarding their shape estimates.
The proposed method shows superior performance in comparison to a Bayesian
classifier for simulation experiments
Investigation of effects of computer anxiety and internet attitudes on computer self-efficacy
During the use of computers in education or in computer based programs one must have
information regarding the state of learners’ affective behaviors. Learners’ attitudes and perceptions
towards new technologies are quite effective on their learning levels. In this research, effects of
computer anxiety and internet attitude on computer self-efficacy were investigated. According to the
research findings, computer anxiety has a strong influence on internet attitudes. Moreover, it was
concluded that internet attitude affected computer self-efficacy. On the other hand, a significant relation
between computer anxiety and computer self-efficacy could not be determined. Based on these
findings, we may suggest that by keeping computer anxiety under control, we may be able to positively
develop learners’ internet attitudes. We may further suggest that students who have positive internet
attitude also have relatively enhanced computer self-efficacy
The impact of economic crisis on agricultural macroeconmic variables in turkey for the period of 1980-2008.
This study explores the impact of the economic crisis on the agricultural sector of Turkey. The data used covers the period of 1980-2008. This study employs some agricultural macro variables namely, gross value added of the agricultural sector, quantity index of agricultural export and import values, relative prices of agricultural goods and the reel exchange rate. The framework of the analysis is a five variables VAR model. Via this VAR model the study try to assess the impact of the economic crisis that occurred after the 1980’s on the agricultural sector of Turkey. Applying the VAR model a robust relationship is found between agricultural GDP, import, export, relative prices and exchange rates. The assessment of the effect of the economic crisis is being captured by adding a dummy variable to the model. The results show that there is no robust relationship between agricultural GDP and the indicator of the years of the (dummy) crisis. Moreover, there seems to be a positive relationship between the dummy and agricultural export and exchange rate while a negative one between import and relative prices.Economic Crisis, VAR, Agricultural Macro-Variables, Turkey
