Summary of Supersonic Jet and Rocket Noise
This paper summarizes a two-part special session, “Supersonic Jet and Rocket Noise,” which was held during the 174th Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America in New Orleans, Louisiana. The sessions were cosponsored by the Noise and Physical Acoustics Technical Committees and consisted of talks by government, academic, and industry researchers from institutions in the United States, Japan, France, and India. The sessions described analytical, computational, and experimental approaches to both fundamental and applied problems on model and full-scale jets and rocket exhaust plumes
Carcinogenicity evaluation for the application of carbon nanotubes as biomaterials in rasH2 mice
The application of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) as biomaterials is of wide interest, and studies examining their application in medicine have had considerable significance. Biological safety is the most important factor when considering the clinical application of CNTs as biomaterials, and various toxicity evaluations are required. Among these evaluations, carcinogenicity should be examined with the highest priority; however, no report using transgenic mice to evaluate the carcinogenicity of CNTs has been published to date. Here, we performed a carcinogenicity test by implanting multi-walled CNTs (MWCNTs) into the subcutaneous tissue of rasH2 mice, using the carbon black present in black tattoo ink as a reference material for safety. The rasH2 mice did not develop neoplasms after being injected with MWCNTs; instead, MWCNTs showed lower carcinogenicity than carbon black. Such evaluations should facilitate the clinical application and development of CNTs for use in important medical fields.ArticleSCIENTIFIC REPORTS. 2:498 (2012)journal articl

In the Primary School will begin life Education as a new subject two years after. The subject of life Education is very important to teaching about living affairs. But, what is Life Education of core-curriculum and how to teaching the subject. It is very difficult to teaching and to understand for young children. In this study it is attempted to make a consideration on the problems about life Education
Millimeter Radio Continuum Emissions as the Activity of Super Massive Black Holes in Nearby Early-Type Galaxies and Low-Luminosity Active Galactic Nuclei
We conducted millimeter continuum observations for samples of nearby
early-type galaxies (21 sources) and nearby low-luminosity active galactic
nuclei (LLAGN; 16 sources) at 100 GHz (3 mm) using the Nobeyama Millimeter
Array (NMA). In addition, we performed quasi-simultaneous observations at 150
GHz (2 mm) and 100 GHz for five LLAGNs. Compact nuclear emissions showing flat
or inverted spectra at centimeter-to-millimeter wavelengths were found in many
LLAGNs and several early-type galaxies. Moreover, significant flux variability
was detected in three LLAGNs. These radio properties are similar to Sgr A*. The
observed radio luminosities are consistent with the fundamental plane of black
hole activity that has suggested on the basis of samples with black hole masses
ranging from 10 to 10^10 M_sun. This implies nuclear jets powered by
radiatively inefficient accretion flows onto black holes.Comment: 11 pages, 2 figures, accepted for publication in the Astronomical
