Słowacki pisze dramat...
Słowacki pisze dramat... (Słowacki is writing a drama...) is dedicated to dramatic fragments.
By outnumbering Słowacki’s other works from the years 1839–1849, they determine the specificity
of his entire work in this period and call for recognition as an overall phenomenon. On the
basis of two works, the article presents unique issues related to these dramas. Walter Stadion is an
example of a chaotic record which has seen diverse interpretative reconstructions by its editors.
Książę Michał Twerski (Prince Mikhail Tversky) provides insights into the poet’s writing technique
and a possibility to confront the work’s text with his excerpts from historical works and his personal
notes. In the last part, the analysis has been based on the terminology used in the research of
Słowacki’s completed dramas (such as W. Szturc’s dramatic “istopes” or K. Ziemba’s miniature
prefigurations). The term “fractal”, placed in reference to these notions, is a new proposal presented
in the article, in which a description of the work’s formal structure is combined with higher
levels of its meaning

Can a Computer Recognize Hate Speech? Machine Learning (ML) in Qualitative Data Analysis
automatycznej kategoryzacji opartych o algorytmy uczenia maszynowego. W dalszej części artykułu
opisujemy zastosowane metody kodowania automatycznego. Tekst kończy podsumowanie wskazujące
na czynniki, które są kluczowe dla procesu badawczego wykorzystującego uczenie maszynowe. The purpose of this article is to present the process of automatic tagging of hate speech in social media. The implementation
of this process allows for quantitative treatment of qualitative methods: analysis on the corpora of hundreds thousands of texts based
on their meaning. The process is possible through algorithms of machine learning (ML).
The example of the hate speech designation project in texts from Polish online forums is presented. The key issue is the precise of
conceptualization and operationalization of category “hate speech.” This allows for preparing specific instructions and conducting the
training code unit. As a result we get higher rates of inter-coder agreement. Marked texts will be used as training data for automated
categorization methods based on ML algorithms. Then we describe the course of machine coding. This article also seeks to establish
problems associated with automatic coding of hate speech and propose solutions. In summary, we point the factors that are crucial to
the research process that uses machine learning

The Impact of Laser Radiation on Polypropylene Molded Pieces Depending on Their Surface Conditions
The article presents an analysis of the impact of a laser beam interaction (Nd: YVO4) with selected operational parameters on the quality of graphical marks obtained on the surfaces of polypropylene-molded pieces with different surface textures (variable parameters of the surface layer). Polypropylene test specimens were produced by injection using the original injection mold, which allowed for the obtainment of products with variable surface finish parameters determined by the surface condition of the forming cavity. The presented relationship between the parameters of laser performance, the texture of a molded piece surface, the molded piece’s color, and types of masterbatches supporting the marking process allows for the assessment of the efficiency of graphic symbol application by laser marking. The original evaluation criteria for the conducted process were adopted
“Corpus of the Four Poets”: the digital dimension of the na onal heritage. Project assump ons
This paper presents the preliminary assumptions of the “Corpus of the Four Poets” project, carried out in cooperation between Polish philologists (IBL PAN, UKSW) and IT specialists (CLARIN-PL, Wrocław University of Technology). The aim of the project is to create a digital corpus containing all Polish-language texts by the authors of the so-called “Great Romanticism”: Adam Mickiewicz, Juliusz Słowacki, Zygmunt Krasiński, and Cyprian Norwid, as well as to develop IT tools integrated with the corpus. The fi nal result will be an online open access database with software. The texts for the corpus have been selected from the print sources that are well-known to readers, which provides the most complete and accurate form of the texts and a relative completeness of the lexical base. The set of metadata and annotations developed in the subsequent stages of the project will enable retrieval of the data on the language of individual authors and their objectivised comparison
