    Efektifitas Herba Gargarisma terhadap Streptococcus pada Rongga Mulut

    This study examines oral hygiene that may influence the physical condition of any human body. This influence is so strong since entering any food get into the body through mouth. Naturally, our grand parents have already eaten something that disinfect microorganism in their mouths. For instant, they eat a kind of herb gargle or mouth wash from any cheap plantation. Not only cheap, but it is also safe because it has no side effect at all. Therefore, this study would like to observe the effectiveness of any kind of herb gargle to control microorganism in the mouth. The purpose of this study is to compare some herb gargles which may refresh our mouth. The sample was 45 children consist of male and female in the Panti Asuhan Yatama Firdaus, at kelurahan Srondol Wotan, Kecamatan Banyumanik, Semarang. Three kind of gargle such as clove (Eugenia carryophyllata), sirih (piper betel) and nira aren (arenga pinnala) were distributed to three groups of 45 children. Each group consists of 15 children rinsed a kind of gargle and spited out into a glass tube prepared. The concentration of bacteria from their mouth was measured in the laboratory. Therefore, herba gargarisma that controls microorganism in their mouth identified. The results indicate that reducing streptococcus by rinsing clove is stronger a sirih and nira. It is because the clove contains eugenol. But since it is so hot, many people dislike to chew clove their mouth. However, the clove is good additional raw material for toothpaste and/or gargle. We believe that clove in the toothpaste and/or gargle will reduce the concentration of the streptococcus in the mouth. Therefore, this study recommends that clove may be used in the industrially to produce toothpaste and gargle since it is can give a good affect the oral hygiene.     Tujuan pendidikan adalah mengubah perilaku menjadi yang lebih baik. Dosen melaksanakan proses perkuliahan kepada peserta didik wajib menguasai evaluasi perkuliahan. Kegiatan perkuliahan di Jurusan Keperawatan Gigi Poltekkes Semarang sudah berjalan dengan baik namun masih kurang dalam hal evaluasi terhadap butir-butir soal. Sudah ada e-lerning dengan alamat http://poltekkes-smg.ac.id/helti namun belum didayagunakan secara maksimal oleh para dosen termasuk pengelolaan soal dan diharapkan ada inegrasi dengan https://www.sims-nakes.org.Jenis penelitian yang akan dilakukan adalah penelitian kualitatif. Metode kualitatif digunakan untuk melakukan proses identifikasi pada tahapan studi pendahuluan yang pada akhirnya terbentuk suatu rancangan Prototipe Aplikasi Analisis Butir Soal Ujian Akhir Semester. Populasi penelitian seluruh mahasiswa semester II Jurusan Keperawatan Gigi Poltekkes Kemenkes Semarang berjumlah 42 orang. Metode waterfall digunakan sebagai proses membangun sistem meliputi analisa kebutuhan, desain sistem, peni;isan kode program, pengujian program, penerapan program dan pemeliharaan. Rancangan sistem menggunakan bahasa pemrograman PHP dan Java - Jquery dengan basis data menggunakan MySQL.Telah dibuat Prototipe Aplikasi Analisis Butir Soal Ujian Akhir Semester Genap Mata Kuliah Konsep Dasar Pelayanan Asuhan Kesehatan Gigi Dan Mulut Tahun Akademik 2018/2019  Berdasarkan Validitas, Reliabilitas, Daya Pembeda, Tingkat Kesukaran, Dan Efektivitas Pengecoh. Prototipe ini dibuat agar memudahkan dosen dalam melakukan analisis butir soal ujian pada mahasiswa. Dengan metode ini maka ujian dapat dilakukan berbasi komputer serta paper less.

Behavior that tends to ignore dental and oral hygiene is generally based on a lack of knowledge about dental and oral health and its maintenance. School student intervention is carried out with the aim that learning about hygiene and dental health can be carried out as early as possible to increase students' knowledge about the importance of maintaining health, especially dental and oral health. The teacher component is the best promoter in educational activities because they are familiar with the method of educating and motivating school students. This study aims to determine the role of teachers in efforts to promote dental and oral health in students at school.This research’s design is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Informants in this study were selected through a purposive sampling technique. The main informants in this study amounted to 3 people, consisting of UKS / UKGS Mentors teachers, while the triangulation informants in this study were 2 people, consisting of the vice principal and the UKS / UKGS supervisor from the Puskesmas.The results of the study indicate that UKGS activities, as a forum for promotion of dental and oral health of students in schools, are recommended for routine training for teachers to improve their knowledge and attitudes so that they can motivate teachers to actively take the initiative to develop various activities related to oral health promotion at school

    Background: Prevalence of tooth loss due to extraction is highest in the elderly aged 65 years and over. Tooth loss means loss of tooth function therefore it affects the quality of life. It seems a reflection of a person's comfort and disability in terms of limited physical, psychological, and social functions. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between number and region of tooth loss with the quality of life in the elderly at the Margo Mukti Elderly Social Service Home, Rembang.Method: Research design was observational study with cross sectional approach. Sample size was 58 elderly people taken from the total population of 300 elderly who live at social services home. Data was collected by examining the number and region of tooth loss followed by interviews using the Oral Health Impact Profile (OHIP-14) questionnaire. Data analysis was performed by univariate and bivariate analysis, using the test chi square and Kolmogorov Spirnov to determine the relationship between independent and dependent variables.Result: The results showed significance of statistical was found at relation number and region of tooth loss with quality of life (0.006). The highest number of tooth loss was in the range of 6-23 teeth. Anterior region was the most tooth lost. Most of elderly (67.2%) have good quality of life.Conclusion: There is relationship between number and region of tooth loss with quality of life related to oral healt

    TITLEThe etiology of rampant caries in pre-school children in TK Pertiwi Jembungan I BoyolaliABSTRACTBaby bottle caries is a dental disease that begins from a tooth and concerns the multi-surface and spreads rapidly to other teeth due to persistent exposure to factors of cause. This study aims to determine the factors that cause rampan caries in students TK Pertiwi Jembungan I Boyolali District.The type of this research is quantitative descriptive with case study research method. The data were collected by examination of caries trajectory, saliva pH and PHP-M index, and questionnaires for time and questionnaire variables based on Bloom's approach theory covering environmental factors, behavior, health service and heredity. Priority problem using odd ratio data analysis test result obtained that the most dominant cause factor is practice (OR value = 16,25), attitude (OR value = 15,00) and knowledge (OR value = 9,3).The results showed that salivary pH value of all respondents was acid (pH 7.0) and 57% of respondents had bad category plaque index value. Time factor showed 57% of respondents were bad category. 48% of respondents who have knowledge of bad category. 61% of respondents already have a good attitude. 100% of respondents did not brush their teeth before bedtime. 83% of respondents have a habit of brushing their teeth only when bathing. Health care factors, 100% of respondents have never treated dental cavities and have not received dental health education, 52% of respondents have fragile teeth and 26% of respondents have a dental structure of crowding. And apple has the ability to self-cleansing effect. This study aims to determine the effect of chewing an apple to the quantity of Streptococcus mutans bacteria in children with special needsThis type of research is descriptive. The method used in this study is a quasi experimental and design studies carried out by one group pretest and posttest. In this study, a sample calculation of the number of bacteria before and after chewing apples in saliva using Total Plate Count. This study aims to determine the potential of the chemical content of purple sweet potato (ipomoea batatas l,) as the material identification of the presence of plaqueThis study research method was Experimental Research and Posttest Only Design as research approach. Sampling used with total Sampling methods and the number of respondents was 30 people. All respondents subjected twice treatment who gets purple sweet potato solution and hatching materials disclosing solution as a positive control at different times.Results showed  Purple sweet potato can be used as identification of the presence of plaque on the tooth surface and of the test statistic test Independent t test, obtained p 0.000 means there are differences of influence between the material of purple sweet potato with materials disclosing solution as the material identification of the presence of dental plaque.     Salivary Glucose Level Increases Severity ff Periodontal Condition in Patients with Type 2 DM

    Saliva can be used for early detection of Diabetes Mellitus (DM). The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between salivary glucose level of patients with type 2 DM on periodontal tissue and to compare it with non DM condition. Observational analysis with cross sectional study was the design used with 40 patients in each group as samples. Periodontal conditions were examined using a dental probe and salivary glucose levels with Eppendorf Ecom 6125 Photometer. The data was analysed statistically with Spearman test to find the relationship between salivary glucose level and periodontal condition and Mann Whitney U Test to compare DM and non DM groups. Cofficient value of Spearman was 0.86, there was a strong correlatiom between salivary glucose level and periodontal condition. Salivary glucose level of DM patients was 8.55 and the control groups was 1.85 (p=0.02). Higher salivary glucose level would increase severity of periodontal tissue status

    Gerakan KB mandiri yang terus digalaknan sebagai salah satu cara untuk mengatasitingginya pertumbuhan penduduk danmenajdi tanggung jawab kesejahteraan perumbuhan penduduk dan menajdia tanggung jaab keserhateraan kelaurga dan masyarakat. Dalam pemilihan tempat pelaayan KB banyak faktor yang diperhatikan: jenis kontrasepsi, jarak tempuh, biaya pelayanan dan teknis pelayanan, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi tentang beberapa factor yang mempengaruhi akseptor KB dan jenis kontrasepsi yang dipilih dengan pemilihan tempat pelayanan KB di kelurahan Sumurboto Kecamatan Banyumanik semarang tahun 2002. Penelitian adalah penelitian explanatory dependekatan cross sectional. Teknik pengambilan sample dengan simple random sampling dengan cara pengambilan sample propotional probability dan jumlah sample 87 akseptor. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan kuesioner. Untuk melihat hubungan antara variabel bebas (pengetahuan, pendidikan, pendapatan, sikap dan jenis kontrasepsi) menggunakan uji Chi Square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pengetahuan (p=0,000), pendidikan (p=0,000), pendapatan (p=0,000), sikap (p=0,022) dengan pemilihan tempat pelayanan KB (swasta dan pemerintah). Tidak terdapat hubungan antara jenis kontrasepsi (p=0,403) dengan pemilihan tempat pelayanan KB (swasta dan pemerintah). Kesimpulan bahwa beberapa karakteristik akseptor KB yaitu pengetahuan, pendidikan. Pendapatan, sikap ada hubungan dengan tempat pelayanan KB (swasta dan pemerintah) sedangkan jenis kontrasepsi tidak ada hubungan. Disarankan agar BKKBN mempertimbangkan dalam pelayanan KB mengutamakan kelayanan mutu sehingga pelayanan yang diberikan sama dengan pelayanan swasta dan masyarakat menggunakan pelayanan KB pemerintah.
