Basados en una ley dada por la superintendencia financiera donde se empieza a regular el servicio exequial en Colombia y citando textualmente la reforma se inicia una comparación. La primera parte que se menciona es el servicio exequial desde el punto de vista de las compañías funerarias el cual incluye parque cementerio de la propiedad de la mismo, donde ofrecen la posibilidad de prestar todo el servicio basados en toda su infraestructura. De tal manera que se pueden tener osarios por familia y poder realizar todo en un mismo punto. The 'two Chinas' and Panama: an historical review of Panamanian relations with the People’s Republic of China and Taiwan, 1903–2017

This paper offers a historical overview of Panama’s ties with the “two Chinas”, focusing initially on Asian migration to the Isthmus of Panama before the territory became part of New Granada (Colombia). This migration was the result of Chinese labourers being recruited to work for the Panama railway construction company from 1850-1855 and, a few decades later, for construction of the French Canal and the Panama Canal. This will be followed by an examination of the Republic of China (ROC or Taiwan) and the People’s Republic of China (PRC) respective policies towards Panama. In addition, this paper analyses the new social, political, and economic scenarios resulting from Panama’s decision to establish diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China in June 2017. Panama’s engagement with China, particularly its links with China’s signature Belt and Road Initiative presents opportunities and challenges for the Central American country as it balances these with its national priorities

Implications of the agreements between China and Panama

Studying the implications of the bilateral agreements between the Republic of Panama and the People’s Republic of China of 2017 allows us to understand the economic and political effects of Chinese diplomacy on international cooperation, economic development, and soft power under the principles of trust and mutual benefit. The objective is to theorise the possible risks of the various aspects of these agreements; expand or modify their terms, ideally, if desirable; promote all sectors’ participation; and collect scientific evidence to make the agreements easier for decision-makers to evaluate. Maintaining complex, interdependent relationships with different spheres of power requires prioritising national interests and adapting them to the new global reality of the COVID-19 pandemic, which requires adjusting agreements on grounds other than the Belt and Road’s specific objectives

The diplomatic context between China and Panama and their agreements

n 2017, Panamanian President Juan Carlos Varela established official ties with the People’s Republic of China (PRC), deepening such diplomacy without disclosing why, exactly, his government had broken its long-standing relations with the Republic of China (Taiwan) in favor of those with the PRC, what commitments his government had made to the PRC, and how he planned to handle the PRC’s strategic interests. China’s objectives, however, are clear. Beijing knows the strategic value of relations with Panama, particularly through its multi-trillion-dollar Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). The Panamanian side, meanwhile, negotiated hastily in a process without consultation, leaving their country in a lurch. Accordingly, Panamanian now need to do the work—to evaluate Panama-PRC agreements, involve all relevant sectors, and move forward according to the country’s best interests. This study analyzes Chinese diplomacy with a focus on Latin America, as well as the content of the PRC’s 47 agreements with Panama, ultimately offering a path forward for Panama

Resistances 2.0: New Communication and Information Practices for Challenging Mining Extraction in Colombia

Las dos últimas décadas se han convertido para Colombia en un campo propicio para la inversión extranjera directa (IED), principalmente en materia de recursos naturales de los cuales se destaca el extractivismo minero. No obstante, dadas las características del país relacionadas con la riqueza cultural, hídrica y biodiversa, se ha levantado resistencia de comunidades pertenecientes a pueblos étnicos, campesinos y urbanos, que dicen «no a la minería y por la defensa de la vida, los territorios y los bienes comunes». El presente artículo da cuenta de la incidencia del uso de plataformas colaborativas de comunicación relativas a la web social, las cuales se articulan en el marco de las mediaciones alternativas, cuyo fin es activar tejidos comunicativos que coadyuvan a las luchas entendidas como resistencias, enfocadas en detener la gran minería, que se instala sobre la base de políticas y normas que irrumpen los territorios, impactando la vida de diversas poblaciones sobre las que recaen estos proyectos extractivos.The last two decades have become a very good field for foreign direct investment in Colombia (IED), mainly in natural resources from which the mining extractions have been outstanding. However, due to the characteristic of the country in cultural, hydric, and biodiversity richness, there has appeared a resistance of communities belonging to ethnic groups, peasants, and urban people, stating “no to mining, for the defense of live, territories and common goods.” This article refers to the incidence of the use of communicative collaboration platforms, related to social web, which articulate in the framework of alternative mediations, whose purpose is to active communicative networks helping the fights understood as resistances, focused on stopping the ig mining, installed on the base of policies and norms which introduce themselves in territories impacting the life of diverse population on which this extraction projects fall

Video Streaming Service Identification on Software-Defined Networking

It is well known that video streaming is the major network traffic today. Futhermore, the traffic generated by video streaming is expected to increase exponentially. On the other hand, SoftwareDefined Networking (SDN) has been considered a viable solution to cope with the complexity and increasing network traffic due to its centralised control and programmability features. These features, however, do not guarantee that network performance will not suffer as traffic grows. As result, understanding video traffic and optimising video traffic can aid in control various aspects of network performance, such as bandwidth utilisation, dynamic routing, and Quality of Service (QoS). This paper presents an approach to identify video streaming traffic in SDN and investigates the feasibility of using Knowledge-Defined Networking (KDN) in traffic classification. KDN is a networking paradigm that takes advantage of Artificial Intelligence (AI) by using Machine Learning approaches, which allows integrating behavioural models to detect patterns, like video streaming traffic identification, in SDN traffic. In our initial proof-of-concept, we derive the relevant information of network traffic in the form of flows statistics. Then, we used such information to train six ML models that can classify network traffic into three types, Video on Demand (VoD), Livestream, and no-video traffic. Our proof-of-concept demonstrates that our approach is applicable and that we can identify and classify video streaming traffic with 97.5% accuracy using the Decision Tree model

Diagnóstico de la responsabilidad social empresarial de la empresa de servicios turísticos Hotel los Arcos de Fundación Familias Unidas en Estelí

Se estudió la empresa de servicios turísticos Hotel los Arcos de Fundación Familias Unidas en Estelí con el objetivo principal de “Diagnosticar la responsabilidad social empresarial de la empresa de servicios turísticos Hotel los Arcos, de Fundación Familias Unidas”.A través de este estudio se caracterizaron los servicios ofertados por esta empresa y su proyección social tanto de manera interna a nivel de los beneficiarios directos de la empresa los cuales se consideran son sus trabajadores y externa en la ejecución de proyectos sociales que beneficia a la comunidad Local.El proceso Metodológico utilizado durante esta etapa de investigación y recolección de datos fue de carácter mixto según el tipo de investigación, descriptivo y deductivo, el cual se llevó a cabo en el Periodo de Agosto a Octubre del año 2017. A través de la observación, recopilación de datos, análisis y procesamiento de los mismos para darle salida a cada uno de los objetivos.El instrumento de investigación utilizado fue la entrevista, la cual se aplicó a los encargados del hotel, personal de la empresa, clientes de la misma. Además se consultó información por medio de manuales y bibliografía que sirvieron de guía durante el proceso de investigación para dirigir el tema y cumpliendo el objetivo principal: Diagnosticar el la responsabilidad social de Hotel los Arcos de Fundación Familias Unidas. Los datos recolectados se procesaron a través de Microsoft Word y Microsoft Excel. Entre los principales resultados obtenidos se tiene la actual situación del funcionamiento del Hotel Los Arcos y la percepción de la responsabilidad social empresarial del hotel, por parte de los trabajadores y los diferentes proyectos impulsados por Familias unidas en los cuales el hotel Los Arcos aporta activamente al desarrollo de estos
