____ This article aims to reflect on some political categories present in Brazilian law and related to gender norms, understanding law as a discourse. It seeks to outline a delineation of gender norms and theory of recognition, based on Judith Butler, starting to reflect on law as a technology of gender and, finally, bringing some categories related to gender norms present in Brazilian legal discourse, especially in the constitutional text, in decisions of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) and in some legal regulations. Thus, it is located how the legal discourse hides the subject of and also hides mechanisms of its own constitution in power relations, characterizing limitations of the political categories used in the Brazilian legal discourse.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

The purpose of this work is to put in evidence the debate around the category of violence by Fanon, with the objective of discussing its need to gender studies, too. We’ve done it from the analysis of a specific concept of his literary work that it is still little discussed: atmospheric violence. Facing an expressive number of academic works about this author in Brazil, this one looks for contributing with the discussion over this concept, to go through the moments when the subject is debated by the own author and some reactions about his thought. It’s possible to affirm that Fanon shows a countercolonial epistemology and that this debate is a connection on his writings. As epistemology we defend that the violence category using by Fanon can be also moved to the gender studies area, in a way to understand the different manners which the violence is objectified as well as those contexts where it occurs.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

This article deals with the differential distribution of death in the face of viral epidemics and pandemics. We will take the current Sars-CoV-2 pandemic in conjunction with the HIV epidemic in order to understand how barriers that divide humans into groups, by which it is decided who can or cannot die of a viral disease. Thinking from Donna Haraway's feminism and critique of human exceptionalism, her theory is articulated with the notions of biopolitics, necropolitics and framing, in order to situate the relationships between some humans and these viruses, considering crossings such as race, gender and sexuality. It is possible to understand that, even without any scientific evidence that justify fatal encounters between some humans and viruses, the stories produced about these pathogens guide those who live or die in contact with them.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

This article discusses some issues related to the Brazilian social and political scenario. Although the universality of rights is provided by law, some groups of people are systematically vulnerable and excluded, which becomes more complex depending on the different factors that intersect their bodies and experiences, including gender, sexuality, class, race, ethnicity. This situation worsens with the rise of certain groups and discourses, which we discuss three: conservatism, neopentecostalism and neoliberalism. Even though they are heterogeneous, keeping important differences between them, they work together in different circumstances. We present a reading of this scenario, establishing relationships between the elements presented that are producers of subjectivities and forms of specific relationships.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

The role of thermal energy accommodation and atomic recombination probabilities in low pressure oxygen plasmas

International audienceSurface interaction probabilities are critical parameters that determine the behaviour of low pressure plasmas and so are crucial input parameters for plasma simulations that play a key role in determining their accuracy. However, these parameters are difficult to estimate without in situ measurements. In this work, the role of two prominent surface interaction probabilities, the atomic oxygen recombination coefficient ? O and the thermal energy accommodation coefficient ? E in determining the plasma properties of low pressure inductively coupled oxygen plasmas are investigated using two-dimensional fluid-kinetic simulations. These plasmas are the type used for semiconductor processing. It was found that ? E plays a crucial role in determining the neutral gas temperature and neutral gas density. Through this dependency, the value of ? E also determines a range of other plasma properties such as the atomic oxygen density, the plasma potential, the electron temperature, and ion bombardment energy and neutral-to-ion flux ratio at the wafer holder. The main role of ? O is in determining the atomic oxygen density and flux to the wafer holder along with the neutral-to-ion flux ratio. It was found that the plasma properties are most sensitive to each coefficient when the value of the coefficient is small causing the losses of atomic oxygen and thermal energy to be surface interaction limited rather than transport limited
