Potřebné výpočty jsou provedeny v programovém systému ANSYS.Master thesis deals with the analysis of wind effect on high slender engineering structures. There are explained important knowledge of the flow theory and compared each turbulent models according to relation of Reynolds and Strouhal number. The point of separation i salso defined. All necessary calculations are made in the ANSYS systém.

Did Predator Control Go to the Dogs? A 40-year Retrospective

In 1980, Green and Woodruff published an article entitled, “Is Predator Control Going to the Dogs?” At that time, the use of Livestock Guardian Dogs (hereafter LGDs) was a relatively new wildlife damage management tool in North America. Although this tool passed the test of time in its point of origin, early North American adopters stepped into a brave new world with little to guide them. In the modern world, knowledge of methods and means of wildlife damage management exists in written texts, films, and other guides. For LGDs, however, such materials did not exist 40 years ago. Over the last few decades, ecologists worldwide began a rigorous program to evaluate the use and effects of LGDs on livestock and natural systems. We now endeavor to update and evaluate the state of LGDs as a wildlife damage management tool in the course of this special issue, asking whether or not predator control went to the dogs

Nonlinear second-order equations with functional implicit impulses and nonlinear functional boundary conditions

    Get PDF
AbstractIn this paper we deal with nonlinear second-order boundary value problems with impulses. The impulsive functions depend implicitly on the different considered variables and the boundary value conditions are nonlinear. In both cases functional dependence on the solution is allowed. The existence results follow from the existence of a pair of well-ordered lower and upper solutions

Monitoring of excessive deformation of steel structure Extra-High Voltage pylons

    Get PDF
Reliability and security of a power transmission depends on the state of the power grid and mainly on the state of the Extra-High Voltage pylons. The paper deals with deformation analysis of existing steel structure of selected Extra-High Voltage pylons which showed excessive differences comparing to the original design. In the assessment of the situation, geodetic survey of selected pylons of power grid that showed the greatest deformation was performed. On taken images, deformation of steel structures by using the FOTOMNG system was also analyzed. The proposed method allows a modeling of the structure of the object based on precisely obtained photographic documentation of the current state. It also represents a very effective method which allows to quickly and efficiently analyze the deformation in the structure of Extra-High Voltage pylons in the critical position of the power grid. Other benefits include the possibility of repeatable and safe measurement.Web of Science62232932

Subharmonic bouncing solutions of generalized Lazer-Solimini equation

    Get PDF
The paper deals with the singular differential equation x 00 + g(x) = p(t), with g having a weak singularity at x = 0 and 2π-periodic function p. For any positive integers m and n, the coexistence of 2mπ-periodic bouncing solutions having n impacts with the singularity and a classical positive periodic solution is proven

Software analysis of mining images for objects detection

    Get PDF
The contribution is dealing with the development of the new module of robust FOTOMNG system for editing images from a video or mining image from measurements for subsequent improvement of detection of required objects in the 2D image. The generated module allows create a final high-quality picture by combination of multiple images with the search objects. We can combine input data according to the parameters or based on reference frames. Correction of detected 2D objects is also part of this module. The solution is implemented into FOTOMNG system and finished work has been tested in appropriate frames, which were validated core functionality and usability. Tests confirmed the function of each part of the module, its accuracy and implications of integration.Web of Science181665
