    Haught, Golshani and the Scientific Viewpoint of State Islamic University in Indonesia

    This article aims to examine the scientific view of the State Islamic University in Indonesia, namely, the concept of 'integration of science and religion'. The theory used is based on 'theology theory of evolution' of John F. Haught and theory of Islamic Science of Mehdi Golshani. State Islamic University such as UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Jakarta, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and other UIN, authorized open course, both of science humanities, social, technical and religious faculty. Referring to the Haught and Golshaniā€Ÿs views, there are three approaches in the development of Islamic science in UIN; First, science aims to find the meaning of Allah (ontological); second, dismantle and re-test the findings of the medieval Islamic scientists (epistemological); Third, utilizing science to build a better civilization (axiological). Thus, UINā€Ÿs existence in the future is largely determined by the success or failure of these institutions to develop the three areas of science Islam

    Respons Madrasah Terhadap Globalisasi

    This paper intends to explore the spirit of globalization in the madrassa. The analysis is done through the study of conceptual curriculum which is assumed to contain some elements of globalization such as democracy, autonomy, International markets, superiority and competitiveness. The development of quality of madrassa with global orientation develop four main competencies: 1) academic, 2) personal, 3) social and 4) spiritual competencies. They cover six elements, namely: (1) knowledge and cognition, (2) understanding and affection, (3) the ability to execute a task or job well, (4) value, that covers good behavior behavior that manifest themselves in a pupil, (5) the attitude , is a fast reaction to external stimuli, and (6) high interest in the positive range. To implement curriculum based on globalization management, madrasas can apply strategies such as: 1) self-management curriculum, creative and innovative spirit of autonomy and globalization; 2) master of science, personal formation, and mastery of social problem-solving skills; 3) master developmentally specific competency based learners

    Realitas eksistensi pesantren itu semakin nyata pentingnya manakala melihat perkembangan pesantren di Indonesia saat ini, khususnya pesantren di wilayah Jawa Timur sebagai representasi ā€˜induk semang\u27 lahirnya pondok pesantren di nusantara yang semakin pesat. Namun di tengah arus globalisasi yang begitu pesat ini, justru kondisi sebagian besar pesantren di Indonesia mengalami degradasi kualitas pembelajaran yang luar biasa, bahkan banyak yang ā€˜gulung tikar\u27. Dalam konteks itulah, upaya mengembangkan model manajemen mutu pembelajaran entrepreneurship berbasis sistem nilai di sejumlah pesantren di Indonesia, menjadi sangat urgen sebagai upaya memunculkan prototipe ā€˜pesantren nusantara masa depan\u27 yang lebih kokoh akan tradisi keilmuan, dan kewirausahaan (entrepreneurship) sekaligus yang ditopang oleh nilai-nilai keilmuan, profesionalitas dan kepesantrenan yang integratif, sehingga ke depan mampu menjadi pondok pesantren yang lebih kompetitif dalam percaturan dunia pendidikan global. Hasil penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa: (1). Sistem nilai yang dikembangkan oleh Pondok Pesantren Sidogiri Pasuruan dalam mendukung manajemen entreprenuershipnya mencakup 3 komponen yaitu: profesionalitas, keilmuan dan kepesantrenan; (2). Tingkat mutu pembelajaran entrepreneurshipnya dapat dikatakan sangat baik, karena didukung oleh nilai pembelajaran yang rata-rata tinggi dan stabil di antara para santri entreprenuernya, termasuk omzet 1.25 trilyun yang telah dihasilkannya; dan (3) Aplikasi model manajemen mutu pembelajaran entreprenuershipnya telah sesuai dengan prinsip manajemen mutu yang berbijak khususnya pada 3 aspek utama yaitu perencanaan mutu, pelaksanaan mutu dan evaluasi mutu pembelajaran entreprenuershipnya

    The quality of human resources is the key word in the face of today's global marketplace. Changes in the level of quality of human resources is often a issue in almost all organizations. Where the service quality can be affected by factors of work motivation, facilities such as reference books, information and leadership style in the university environment, especially in service in the library. This study aims to identify and analyze how far the direct influence of the three variables; motivation (X1), facilities (X2), leadership style (Y) with quality of services (Z). Sample as many as 153 respondents of 175 questionnaires were distributed from the student population of public and private polytechnics and engineering fields Busnis (not polytechnic health) in Palembang. The analysis model used is the SEM (structural equation model). Results of studies with variable conclusions berpengarh facilities directly and domnan to variable leadership style (0.49), while the third variable of motivation, facilities and leadership styles and dominant direct effect on the quality services is variable motivation (0.38)

    Analisis Reaksi Pasar Modal Setelah Pengumuman Initial Public Offering (Ipo) Pada Perusahaan Yang Terdaftar Di Bursa Efek Jakarta

    Stock exchange is a means to acquire capital and accumulate funds, therefore it is important in improving the public's participation in generating fund so as to support the national development. The meaning of IPO is when the company issues its stocks for the first time in the stock exchange. Therefore an IPO will result in a number of reactions from the capital market, and one of such reactions is return. Purpose of this research was to investigate whether the performance of stock exchanges in Indonesia is decreasing in the long run and whether there exists a difference between short term stock performance and long term stock performance and also the performance of the securities bought in first day's closing price. The survey method was used in this research. The research belong to deductive-quantitative by tested stock performance in short term and long term period of IPO up to one year. The abnormal return was calculated based on the total stock return, total market value, market adjusted model and relative wealth. The sample was constructed using purposive sampling technique from a population of 43 companies which conducted their IPO in the period from January 2002 up to December 2002 in Jakarta Stock Exchange. The statistic method used here was normality test, in which Kolmogorov-Smirnov Goodness-of-Fit test was first applied and then followed by difference test using one sample t-test and Wilcoxon matched-pair signed rank test. The result of this study showed that for the short term, the first day of trading resulted in positive mean of abnormal return, which turned into negative in the long period. This means that in the short term, the result is outperforming and in the long term the result is underperforming. For the stocks acquired with initial price, the short term and long term performance did not indicate any difference. However, for the stocks acquired with the first day's closing price, the short term and long term performance for a period of one month was found to be different from the performance of one year. This shows that the significant difference occurred only for the fist day of trading

    An objective of this research is to (1) identify factors that customer consider in choosing mobile phone operator service (whether CDMA and GSM), (2) identify dominant variable that influences consumer behavior. Kind of this research is applied research with a research method of causal study. This research is intended to student and university student segments in Malang City, which these are included into Net Generation group (born between 1977-1997) with age minimal limitation for respondent of 17 years. Sample framework for this research is user of CDMA and GSM cards of 175 respondents. Moreover, for its sample technique used is non-probability sampling with purposive sample method, and the second is quota sampling. Extraction result of 34 variables is 7 new factors, which it is labeled as follow: (1) product image factor, (2) service factor, (3) environment influence factor, (4) promotion factor, (5) individual factor, (6) price factor, and (7) process factor. From discriminant analysis, the contrary result with the hypothesis is found, that is price variable, rather than dominant variable in differentiating consumer behavior of CDMA operator to GSM operator. They are more sensitive to product process. Product image to persue subscriber for student of SMU and university as subscriber ā€œSmartā€ group. Research result conclude are to build competitive advantage, the operator must be to get positional advantage as differentiation ā€œcontentā€ service which result are process, as result from product positioning aplication
