GEOLOGI DAN STUDI BATUAN GRANIT DAERAH AMAHUSU DAN SEKITARNYA KECAMATAN NUSANIWE KOTA AMBON PROVINSI MALUKU
Secara administratif daerah penelitian terletak di daerah Amahusu dan sekitarnya, Kecamatan Nusaniwe, Kota Ambon, Provinsi Maluku. Peta daerah penelitian memanjang dengan arah timur laut – barat daya. Secara geografis memiliki koordinat 3o40’16” LS – 128o24’40” BT : 3o45’43” LS – 128o15’16” BT : 3o40’16” LS – 128o18’20” BT : 3o44’19” LS – 128o27’20” BT. Dengan skala 1:50.000 diperbesar dengan skala 1:25.000 dengan luas daerah penelitian 761 Km². Secara umum stratigrafi daerah telitian terdiri empat satuan batuan yaitu, Satuan Peridotit sebagai basement, kemudian terjadi proses vulkasnisme yang menghasilkan batuan terobosan yang terdiri dari Satuan intrusi granit, kemudiaan tidak selaras diatas Satuan intrusi granit diendapkan Satuan batugamping terumbu, dan yang terakhir adalah diendapkan material lepas yang merupakan Satuan endapan aluvial yang terdiri atas material berukuran pasir, kerikil sampai bongkah. Dalam pembagian satuan geomorfik pada daerah penelitian, penulis membagi daerah telitian menjadi tiga Satuan geomorfik yaitu Satuan geomorfik dataran dengan subsatuan geomorfik dataran pantai, Satuan geomorfik sistem plutonik dengan subsatuan geomorfik perbukitan plutonik dan Satuan geomorfik karst topografi dengan subsatuan geomorfik lapies. Himpunan batuan vulkanik pada daerah telitian terdiri atas peridotit dan granit. Hasil analisa kimia menunjukan afinitas magma pada batuan granit termasuk dalam seri Kalk-Alkali. sedangakan batuan peridotit termasuk dalam seri Tholeit. Lingkungan tektonik daerah penelitian terbentuk pada daerah busur kepulauan yang berhubungan dengan zona penunjaman. dicirikan dengan melimpahnya magma yang berkomposisi kaya silika
Conservation tillage increases in soil water storage, soil animal populations, grain yield, and response to fertiliser in the semi-arid subtropics
We compared 4 tillage practices (traditional, stubble mulch, reduced, no tillage) during 10 years under rainfed conditions on an alluvial soil in the semi-arid subtropics of central Queensland. In the final 4 years, responses to applied fertiliser nitrogen (N), sulfur (S), and zinc (Zn) were determined. We measured soil water storage, soil nitrate accumulation, grain yield (sorghum, wheat), grain protein content, and populations of soil macrofauna, with the aim of identifying soil-conserving practices that also produce high yields of high quality grain. Stubble mulch, reduced tillage, and no tillage all outyielded traditional tillage when soil fertility was adequate. With applied N, S, and Zn, the mean wheat yields from traditional, stubble mulch, reduced, and no tillage were 2.44, 3.32, 3.46, and 3.64 t/ha, respectively. The yield responses to tillage practices were due to increases in storage of soil water or efficiency of crop water use or both. Populations of soil macrofauna averaged (per m2) 19 (traditional tillage), 21 (stubble mulch), 33 (reduced tillage), and 44 (no tillage). The effect of the tillage practices on soil animal populations may be a factor contributing to the measured differences in soil water storage and water use efficiency. We conclude that conservation tillage practices can greatly increase grain yields, provided crop and fallow management practices are appropriate. Potential yield advantages are realised if crop establishment, crop nutrition; and control of weeds, bests, and diseases are adequate
Learning together through international collaboration in teacher education in Malaysia. Report of a project to develop a Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Primary Mathematics
Copyright University of Hertfordshire, School of Education 2011Learning together through international collaboration in teacher education in Malaysia is the report of an enterprising partnership between the University of Hertfordshire, UK, the Ministry of Education Malaysia and two Institutes of Teacher Education in Malaysia. Working collaboratively with colleagues in Malaysia, the University of Hertfordshire School of Education designed, validated, supported and quality assured a Bachelor of Education (Honours) degree programme for initial teacher training for a single cohort of 120 students over four years. All the students graduated in 2010. Learning together through international collaboration in teacher education in Malaysia provides a record of the project itself. It also documents in-depth insights from contributors to the project in two main areas: the collaborative approach to working together and issues relating to learning and teaching, including the Action – Reflection – Modelling (ARM) pedagogical approach, which underpinned the degree programme. Senior managers, teacher educators and lecturers share some of their learning from working together to develop and implement the new degree programme. Student teachers voice some experiences from their school placements. They describe how they used ARM; highlight some of the benefits of the approach and identify some of the challenges associated with introducing a different pedagogy in schools as they were 'learning to teach'. There are glimpses of 'lively and attractive' classes in which 'pupils enjoy and feel comfortable to learn' and 'are eager to answer my questions'. School mentors provide additional insights into the student teachers' learning and teaching practice. The richness of the contributions is reflected in the many quotations included in the report. The successful completion of this project was due to the dedication and expertise of many contributors. The findings documented in this report are relevant for all those engaged in international collaboration and teacher education.Final Published versio
Network analysis of host–virus communities in bats and rodents reveals determinants of cross-species transmission
Bats are natural reservoirs of several important emerging viruses. Cross-species transmission appears to be quite common among bats, which may contribute to their unique reservoir potential. Therefore, understanding the importance of bats as reservoirs requires examining them in a community context rather than concentrating on individual species. Here, we use a network approach to identify ecological and biological correlates of cross-species virus transmission in bats and rodents, another important host group. We show that given our current knowledge the bat viral sharing network is more connected than the rodent network, suggesting viruses may pass more easily between bat species. We identify host traits associated with important reservoir species: gregarious bats are more likely to share more viruses and bats which migrate regionally are important for spreading viruses through the network. We identify multiple communities of viral sharing within bats and rodents and highlight potential species traits that can help guide studies of novel pathogen emergence
KELT-10b: The First Transiting Exoplanet from the KELT-South Survey -- A Hot Sub-Jupiter Transiting a V = 10.7 Early G-Star
We report the discovery of KELT-10b, the first transiting exoplanet
discovered using the KELT-South telescope. KELT-10b is a highly inflated
sub-Jupiter mass planet transiting a relatively bright star (TYC
8378-64-1), with T = K, =
and [Fe/H] = , an inferred mass
M = M and radius R =
R. The planet has a radius R =
R and mass M =
M. The planet has an eccentricity consistent with zero and a semi-major
axis = AU. The best fitting linear
ephemeris is = 2457066.720450.00027 BJD and P =
4.16627390.0000063 days. This planet joins a group of highly inflated
transiting exoplanets with a radius much larger and a mass much less than those
of Jupiter. The planet, which boasts deep transits of 1.4%, has a relatively
high equilibrium temperature of T = K, assuming zero
albedo and perfect heat redistribution. KELT-10b receives an estimated
insolation of 10 erg s cm,
which places it far above the insolation threshold above which hot Jupiters
exhibit increasing amounts of radius inflation. Evolutionary analysis of the
host star suggests that KELT-10b is unlikely to survive beyond the current
subgiant phase, due to a concomitant in-spiral of the planet over the next
1 Gyr. The planet transits a relatively bright star and exhibits the
third largest transit depth of all transiting exoplanets with V 11 in the
southern hemisphere, making it a promising candidate for future atmospheric

Statefinder and Om Diagnostics for Interacting New Holographic Dark Energy Model and Generalized Second Law of Thermodynamics
In this work, we have considered that the flat FRW universe is filled with
the mixture of dark matter and the new holographic dark energy. If there is an
interaction, we have investigated the natures of deceleration parameter,
statefinder and diagnostics. We have examined the validity of the first
and generalized second laws of thermodynamics under these interactions on the
event as well as apparent horizon. It has been observed that the first law is
violated on the event horizon. However, the generalized second law is valid
throughout the evolution of the universe enveloped by the apparent horizon.
When the event horizon is considered as the enveloping horizon, the generalized
second law is found to break down excepting at late stage of the universe.Comment: 9 pages, 13 figure
Transfer learning for galaxy morphology from one survey to another

Published by Oxford University Press on behalf of the Royal Astronomical Society.Deep Learning (DL) algorithms for morphological classification of galaxies have proven very successful, mimicking (or even improving) visual classifications. However, these algorithms rely on large training samples of labelled galaxies (typically thousands of them). A key question for using DL classifications in future Big Data surveys is how much of the knowledge acquired from an existing survey can be exported to a new dataset, i.e. if the features learned by the machines are meaningful for different data. We test the performance of DL models, trained with Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) data, on Dark Energy survey (DES) using images for a sample of 5000 galaxies with a similar redshift distribution to SDSS. Applying the models directly to DES data provides a reasonable global accuracy ( 90%), but small completeness and purity values. A fast domain adaptation step, consisting in a further training with a small DES sample of galaxies (500-300), is enough for obtaining an accuracy > 95% and a significant improvement in the completeness and purity values. This demonstrates that, once trained with a particular dataset, machines can quickly adapt to new instrument characteristics (e.g., PSF, seeing, depth), reducing by almost one order of magnitude the necessary training sample for morphological classification. Reconstructing interacting new agegraphic polytropic gas model in non-flat FRW universe
We study the correspondence between the interacting new agegraphic dark
energy and the polytropic gas model of dark energy in the non-flat FRW
universe. This correspondence allows to reconstruct the potential and the
dynamics for the scalar field of the polytropic model, which describe

Magnetic field - temperature phase diagram of quasi-two-dimensional organic superconductor lambda-(BETS)_2 GaCl_4 studied via thermal conductivity
The thermal conductivity kappa of the quasi-two-dimensional (Q2D) organic
superconductor lambda-(BETS)_2 GaCl_4 was studied in the magnetic field H
applied parallel to the Q2D plane. The phase diagram determined from this bulk
measurement shows notable dependence on the sample quality. In dirty samples
the upper critical field H_{c2} is consistent with the Pauli paramagnetic
limiting, and a sharp change is observed in kappa(H) at H_{c2 parallel}. In
contrast in clean samples H_{c2}(T) shows no saturation towards low
temperatures and the feature in kappa(H) is replaced by two slope changes
reminiscent of second-order transitions. The peculiarity was observed below ~
0.33T_c and disappeared on field inclination to the plane when the orbital
suppression of superconductivity became dominant. This behavior is consistent
with the formation of a superconducting state with spatially modulated order

Cosmological evolution and statefinder diagnostic for new holographic dark energy model in non flat universe
In this paper, the holographic dark energy model with new infrared cut-off
proposed by Granda and Oliveros has been investigated in spatially non flat
universe. The dependency of the evolution of equation of state, deceleration
parameter and cosmological evolution of Hubble parameter on the parameters of
new HDE model are calculated. Also, the statefinder parameters and in
this model are derived and the evolutionary trajectories in plane are
plotted. We show that the evolutionary trajectories are dependent on the model
parameters of new HDE model. Eventually, in the light of SNe+BAO+OHD+CMB
observational data, we plot the evolutionary trajectories in and
