An Integrated Approach of Landscape Design in the Rehabilitation of an Urban River Corridor: River Tinto
Due to the increasing demand for its water resources, the changes in land use and the fast urban sprawl, the river Tinto became the mass of surface water of the river Douro´s watershed with lower physicochemical and biological quality. Taking into account its scale and urban context, the severity of the pollution level and the periodic flooding problem, became urgent to accomplish priority solutions for its riverside landscape, based on natural recovery principles and flood protection.
The purpose of this paper is to stress the contribution of the integrated approach of landscape design in the improvement of the life quality and safety assurance of the local population, taking into account information and proposals from previous projects, plans and programmes, bioengineering technical knowledge and the national legal mechanisms related to water resources management. It was intended to rehabilitate a stretch of the river Tinto with the creation of a riverside urban park – Meiral Park. This project’s aim was to extend and qualify the public space, ensuring the river resilience and enhancing the hydraulic connectivity of its ecosystems and the multiple functionality of the place, through the integration of different uses – production, protection and recreation.
With this project, it became obvious that landscape planners can take a more active and valid role in the management of water resources, through a multidisciplinary and intersectoral collaboration exercise. Indeed, it is believed that in the current political and economic context, incorporated into the guidelines of the Water Framework Directive, landscape design will gain a new dimension in the sustainable management of water resources
As
preferido apresentam menos comportamentos inibidos.
tipo desinibido.
Studies frequently reveal the manifestation of attachment disordered behaviors by institutionalized
children. At the same time, they have been described many risks associated with these children that
justify the systematic search for the understanding of this phenomenon. In this context, there are
variables that require study and others that, concerning its role on explaining the atypical forms of
attachment, are controversial. So, the main purpose of this investigation was to search the etiologic
factors of attachment disordered behaviors, highlighting the characteristics of children and care’s
contribution. To achieve it, we used a sample of 60 Portuguese children in preschool age, who live in
institutions and respective caregivers. To classify the quality of the bond between them, the
institutional technicians responded to the Identification Caregiver Questionnaire, and then, this
information was investigated and validated by researchers based on naturalistic observations. We also
used the Disturbances of Attachment Interview (Smyke & Zeanah, 1999) to explore the signs of
attachment disordered behaviors in the child. The caregivers, in addition of responding to this
interview, also answered the Children's Behavior Questionnaire (Rothbart, 2000) to assess the child's
temperament and the Caregiver Questionnaire, providing knowledge concerning the characteristics of
the care and caregivers’ beliefs. An interactive task (Soares et al., 2010) allowed the access to the
quality of close care. The results revealed that children who have preferred a certain caregiver
presented less inhibited behaviors. These behaviors were also negative and marginally associated to
the caregiver’s sensitivity and the dimension of behavior effortful control. Disinhibited behaviors were
negatively associated with the sensitivity, and negative and marginally correlated with the number of
working days per week of the caregiver. Furthermore, smaller negative affectivity and higher
extraversion were associated with less disinhibited behavior type. It was also found that male children
manifested more secure base distortions than the female. These atypical forms of attachment were
found positive and marginally correlated in the evaluation with the age of children, positively and
significantly related to the ratio and negatively associated with caregiver’s sensitivity. The sensitivity
of the caregiver was significantly correlated with some of their beliefs, but not with the child's
temperament. The results suggest that attachment disordered behaviors have different etiological
factors related to characteristics of the child and of the institutional care.Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) - Bolsa de Investigação PTDC/PSIPCL/

This business plan provides, first, an investigation into the development of e-commerce websites, the demand of purchases on these platforms and, an analysis of Internet sexuality, which includes sex shops, consumer preferences and evolution of sexuality. And secondly, investigates what consumers’ behaviors are related to online purchases and the consumption of sexual products in Portuguese society and how the perception of sexuality has evolved over recent years.
The main focus of the company created was to facilitate the purchase of sexual products. It aimed to offer a personalized service, match products according to customer needs, and transform the negative image created by society with trustworthy information and education about the topic, and provides innovation regarding to the products.
This business can be considered an incremental innovation in the sexuality market in Portugal because it applies significant changes according to what’s already exist in the market and enhances the customer experience while not fundamentally deviating from existing companies (Ovuakporie et al., 2021).
The e-commerce is committed to selling sexual products, but only the ones that have already been fully tested by the team, and that are guaranteed to be a good choice. When the time comes for the client to choose the product, the client can select the one that matches their necessities with the support of a the specialized team. The main idea would be selling a specific range of categorized products, selected according to high quality and promote new and different consumer experiences while providing knowledge about the topic.O plano de negócios apresentado prevê, em primeiro lugar, uma investigação sobre o desenvolvimento de plataformas de e-commerce, a procura e compras efetivas nestas plataformas, uma análise da sexualidade na Internet (que incluà sex shops, preferências do consumidor) e evolução da sexualidade.
Spatio-temporal distribution analysis of brand interest in social networks
Social Networks applications such as Facebook and Twitter became part of many people’s
lives and are used daily by millions of users. In such platforms, users share their emotions,
opinions, experiences, and thoughts. Twitter, in particular, is used to discuss diverse topics,
including brands, their products and services. In this thesis, we analyse how brand interest is
reflected on Twitter and how this platform can be used to monitor what people say about specific
brands, as an indicator of brand interest. Brand interest can be defined as the level of interest
one has in a brand, and the level of curiosity one has to learn more about a brand. For this work,
the volume of tweets is used as a measure of brand interest. Our methodology is based on time,
location, and the number of brand-related tweets to perform a spatio-temporal analysis.
Additionally, we propose a framework for discovering latent patterns (topics) from a large
dataset of grouped short messages to analyse brand interest, using Twitter as a data source. We
applied a well-known Text Mining technique called Topic Modelling, which is an unsupervised
learning technique used when dealing with text data, useful to uncover topics in a collection
of documents. This technique provides a convenient way to retrieve information from unstructured text. Topic Modelling tasks have been applied to track events/trends and uncover topics
in domains such as academic, public health, marketing, and so forth. The framework consists of training LDA (Latent Dirichlet Allocation) topic models on aggregated tweets, and then
applying the model on different documents, also composed by grouped Twitter posts. Furthermore, we describe a set of pre-processing tasks that helped to improve the performance of topic
models, enabling us to obtain a better output, thus performing a better analysis of it. The experiments demonstrated that Topic Modelling can successfully track people’s discussions on Social
Networks even in massive datasets such as the one used in the current work, and capture those
topics spiked by real-life eventsActualmente, plataformas como Twitter e Facebook fazem parte do dia-a-dia de muitas pessoas e são usadas por milhões de utilizadores. Nestas plataformas, denominadas Redes Sociais,

The role of the anesthesiologist through patient's eyes - a prospective study
Background: The role of the anesthesiologist remains uncertain, and many patients still do not recognize the functions of the anesthesiologist. There are still several concerns about anesthesia. The main objectives of this study were to assess the perception of the role of the anesthesiologist and to understand the main concerns regarding the anesthetic procedure.
Methods: Prospective study carried out for 2 months in patients before the pre-anesthetic consultation. A questionnaire with 15 questions about demographic data, previous anesthesia, functions of the anesthesiologist, main concerns of patients and knowledge about general and regional anesthesia was delivered. The questions were assessed as correct (one point) or incorrect / do not know / do not answer (0 points). The analysis was performed with SPSS 21, with p <0.20 considered statistically significant.
Results: 259 patients were included. 71,8% consider the anesthesiologist to be a specialized physician. The task most recognized by patients was to "put patients to sleep" before surgery and assess the patient before surgery. 24,7% consider the anesthesiologist the most competent member to treat complications such as severe allergic reactions, among others. 59,8% are not afraid of being anesthetized and 80,3% consider anesthesia a safe procedure. The main concern is not waking up after surgery. The difference between the number of correct answers is statistically significant in patients with different levels of education.
Conclusions: The role of the anesthesiologist remains underestimated, and patients' knowledge has evolved little over the years. Patients with higher academic levels and previous anesthetic experiences have a better knowledge about anesthetic procedures
A study about web accessibility in Portuguese museums: How to overcome the main difficulties
Museums and their websites are an important component in the promotion of accessible tourism. However, some problems related to web accessibility may raise great barriers to the practice of tourism by people with disabilities. This study evaluates the level of website accessibility of museums located in Portugal, as it illustrates the importance of information being presented in an accessible way. A sample of 575 websites was analysed based on Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, using an automatic web diagnostic tool (AccessMonitor). This analysis was performed considering the A, AA, and AAA conformance levels of WCAG. Currently the state of web accessibility levels is medium, and there are still constraints that make information gathering difficult for visitors with disabilities. After the barriers are identified, proposals to design more accessible websites are presented. These proposals contribute to making museums’ online information accessible to all people, independently of their needs and functional limitations
