Dengan penerapantema ini juga diharapkan dapat mewujudkan hotel resor yang memiliki nilai jual dan keselarasan denganlingkungannyaKata Kunci: Hotel Resor, Arsitektur Tepi AirAbstractPulisan village that located in East Likupang District, North Minahasa Regency had a white sandy shorewith underwater park that has become one of the best diving spots in North Sulawesi, because of it’s charmand beauty, it has attracted tourists both domestic and foreign tourist. Even with it’s beauty, there’s a lackof facilities to sustain tourists activities, and it is evident with only one existing resort : Casa Baio, which islocated far from tour spot. Therefore, it is a necessity to build a resort that exist near the tourist spot and sustain any tourist activities, either for those who wants to linger and stay for a while to enjoy the natural beauty, or for those who justcame by and enjoy the North Minahasa underwater attraction. It is expected for this resort hotel to improvethe growth of regional economy through the tourism sector. Waterfront Architecture is the chosen themebased on site capabilities and natural formation, so it is expected that this theme will be sea oriented andmaximize waterfront potential. With this applied theme, it is expected to realize a high value resort hotel thatis in harmony with the surrounding environment. Keywords: Resort Hotel, Waterfront Architectur
Engaging China – Reflections from the EU’s and ASEAN’s Responses. EU Centre Background Brief, 3rd January 2019
China’s rise as a global economic and trading power has taken on a new significance for the Asia-Pacific region as well as the western world in light of USA’s increasing protectionism under the Trump administration. This brief will explore how regional organizations like the Association for South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the European Union (EU) as well as their member states respond to the rise of China and its increasing assertiveness in projecting its power and protecting its interests globally. China’s geographical proximity to South East Asia and the power competition between China and USA are important factors that shape the responses of ASEAN nations. This brief looks at the “hedging” and “bandwagoning” strategy employed by ASEAN member states against China. On the other hand, being a more unified actor than ASEAN and a central pillar for a rule-based multilateral world order, the EU hopes to constructively manage its internal differences while engaging China in its reform process. Upon closer look, the author finds that the EU, like ASEAN, is challenged by an unpredictable and unilateral America First under Trump, and an increasingly assertive China. To manage the rising tensions and uncertainties, both regional organisations need to be more cohesive and united. They should also work more closely together to uphold a rule-based multilateral order
Detecting Cross-Modal Inconsistency to Defend Against Neural Fake News
Large-scale dissemination of disinformation online intended to mislead or
deceive the general population is a major societal problem. Rapid progression
in image, video, and natural language generative models has only exacerbated
this situation and intensified our need for an effective defense mechanism.
While existing approaches have been proposed to defend against neural fake
news, they are generally constrained to the very limited setting where articles
only have text and metadata such as the title and authors. In this paper, we
introduce the more realistic and challenging task of defending against
machine-generated news that also includes images and captions. To identify the
possible weaknesses that adversaries can exploit, we create a NeuralNews
dataset composed of 4 different types of generated articles as well as conduct
a series of human user study experiments based on this dataset. In addition to
the valuable insights gleaned from our user study experiments, we provide a
relatively effective approach based on detecting visual-semantic
inconsistencies, which will serve as an effective first line of defense and a
useful reference for future work in defending against machine-generated
disinformation.Comment: Accepted at EMNLP 202

Does caffeine consumption affect work performance across different job types?
We propose executing a panel series case study for a large organization in Singapore over a year to examine how caffeine impacts work performance across different job types. Our research question is how does caffeine affect work performance under different conditions due to work type differences. Our dependent variable would be work performance as measured by employees’ Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). We propose to gather data for two of our important independent variables: caffeine use through a recorded pantry system and average sleep hours from a survey. We will analyze the data by using two-factor ANOVA with replication to find the interaction between Caffeine and Work types, as well as regression analysis to determine the impact of key-independent variables. The findings of our study has the potential to influence safety regulations surrounding jobs relating to caffeine, similar to the regulations for alcohol
Ethnic ties, location choice, and firm performance in foreign direct investment: A study of Taiwanese business groups FDI in China
This paper examines ethnic ties and their impact on FDI location choice and firm performance. Drawing on social network theory and using data from 88 Taiwanese business groups, the study tests the impact of ethnic ties on firm FDI location choice and performance outcomes in China. Results show that ethnic ties of top managers matter in facilitating firm FDI location choice. In contrast to our expectations however, ethnic ties do not help to improve firm performance in China. Implications of these results are discussed in view of existing literature and future research opportunities are delineated

Temozolomide and Pazopanib Combined with FOLFOX Regressed a Primary Colorectal Cancer in a Patient-derived Orthotopic Xenograft Mouse Model.
PurposeThe goal of the present study was to determine the efficacy of temozolomide (TEM) and pazopanib (PAZ) combined with FOLFOX (oxaliplatin, leucovorin and 5-fluorouracil) on a colorectal cancer patient-derived orthotopic xenograft (PDOX) mouse model.Materials and methodsA colorectal cancer tumor from a patient previously established in non-transgenic nude mice was implanted subcutaneously in transgenic green fluorescence protein (GFP)-expressing nude mice in order to label the tumor stromal cells with GFP. Then labeled tumors were orthotopically implanted into the cecum of nude mice. Mice were randomized into four groups: Group 1, untreated control; group 2, TEM + PAZ; group 3, FOLFOX; group 4, TEM + PAZ plus FOLFOX. Tumor width, length, and mouse body weight were measured weekly. The Fluor Vivo imaging System was used to image the GFP-lableled tumor stromal cells in vivo. H&E staining and immunohistochemical staining were used for histological analysis.ResultsAll three treatments inhibited tumor growth as compared to the untreated control group. The combination of TEM + PAZ + FOLFOX regressed tumor growth significantly more effectively than TEM + PAZ or FOLFOX. Only the combination of TEM + PAZ + FOLFOX group caused a decrease in body weight. PAZ suppressed lymph vessels density in the colorectal cancer PDOX mouse model suggesting inhibition of lymphangiogenesis.ConclusionOur results suggest that the combination of TEM + PAZ + FOLFOX has clinical potential for colorectal cancer patient
