Proliferation and detection of blog spam
The ease of posting comments and links in blogs has attracted spammers as an alternative venue to conventional email. An experimental study investigates the nature and prevalence of blog spam. Using Defensio logs, the authors collected and analyzed more than one million blog comments during the last two weeks of June 2009. They used a support vector machine (SVM) classifier combined with heuristics to identify spam posters' IP addresses, autonomous system numbers (ASN), and IP blocks. Experimental results show that more than 75 percent of blog comments during the reporting period are spam. In addition, the results show that blog spammers likely operate from a few colocation facilities. © 2006 IEEE
Lepton polarization correlations in
In this work we will study the polarizations of both leptons () in the
decay channel . In the case of the dileptonic inclusive
decay , where apart from the polarization asymmetries
of single lepton , one can also observe the polarization asymmetries of
both leptons simultaneously. If this sort of measurement is possible then we
can have, apart from decay rate, FB asymmetry and the six single lepton
polarization asymmetries (three each for and ), nine more
double polarization asymmetries. This will give us a very useful tool in more
strict testing of SM and the physics beyond. We discuss the double polarization
asymmetries of leptons in the decay mode within
the SM and the Minimal Supersymmetric extensions of it.Comment: 21 pages, 21 figures; version to match paper to appear in PR
Lepton Flavour Violation in Unparticle Physics
Recently H. Georgi has introduced an unparticle \unpart in order to
describe the low energy physics of a nontrivial scale invariant sector of an
effective theory. In this work we have explored the phenomenology of an
unparticle using the lepton flavour violating decay , and found that the branching ratio of this decay is strongly dependent
on the scaling dimension.Comment: 7 pages, 3 figures; typographical errors corrected and references

T violation in (Lambda_b -> Lambda l^+ l^-) decay beyond standard model
Using the most general, model independent form of effective Hamiltonian, the
transverse polarization P_T of Lambda in Lambda_b -> Lambda l^+ l^- decay is
studied. It is observed that the averaged is very sensitive to the
existence of new physics and can attain large values, which can be measured at
future colliders.Comment: 12 pages, 7 figures, LaTeX formatte
Fast and Accurate Coarsening Simulation with an Unconditionally Stable Time Step
We present Cahn-Hilliard and Allen-Cahn numerical integration algorithms that
are unconditionally stable and so provide significantly faster
accuracy-controlled simulation. Our stability analysis is based on Eyre's
theorem and unconditional von Neumann stability analysis, both of which we
present. Numerical tests confirm the accuracy of the von Neumann approach,
which is straightforward and should be widely applicable in phase-field
modeling. We show that accuracy can be controlled with an unbounded time step
Delta-t that grows with time t as Delta-t ~ t^alpha. We develop a
classification scheme for the step exponent alpha and demonstrate that a class
of simple linear algorithms gives alpha=1/3. For this class the speed up
relative to a fixed time step grows with the linear size of the system as N/log
N, and we estimate conservatively that an 8192^2 lattice can be integrated 300
times faster than with the Euler method.Comment: 14 pages, 6 figure
Thermal-Mechanical Properties of Polyurethane-Clay Shape Memory Polymer Nanocomposites
Shape memory nanocomposites of polyurethane (PU)-clay were fabricated by melt mixing of PU and nano-clay. Based on nano-indentation and microhardness tests, the strength of the nanocomposites increased dramatically as a function of clay content, which is attributed to the enhanced nanoclay–polymer interactions. Thermal mechanical experiments demonstrated good mechanical and shape memory effects of the nanocomposites. Full shape memory recovery was displayed by both the pure PU and PU-clay nanocomposites.
Unparticle Physics in the Moller Scattering
We investigate the virtual effects of vector unparticles in the Moller
scattering. We derive the analytic expression for scattering amplitudes with
unpolarized beams. We obtain 95% confidence level limits on the unparticle
couplings and with integrated luminosity of
and and 500 GeV energies. We show
that limits on are more sensitive than .Comment: 10 pages, 5 figures, 4 table
Model Independent Analysis of the Forward-Backward Asymmetry for the Decay
The sensitivity of the zero position of the forward backward asymmetry
for the exclusive
decay is examined by using most general non-standard 4-fermion interactions.
Our analysis shows that the zero position of the forward backward asymmetry is
very sensitive to the sign and size of the Wilson coefficients corresponding to
the new vector type interactions, which are the counter partners of the usual
Standard Model operators but have opposite chirality. In addition to these, the
other significant effect comes from the interference of Scalar-Pseudoscalar and
Tensor type operators. These results will not only enhance our theoretical
understanding about the axial vector mesons but will also serve as a good tool
to look for physics beyond the SM.Comment: 14 pages, 8 figures, Published version that appears in EPJ
Contact Interactions and Resonance-Like Physics at Present and Future Colliders from Unparticles
High scale conformal physics can lead to unusual unparticle stuff at our low
energies. In this paper we discuss how the exchange of unparticles between
Standard Model fields can lead to new contact interaction physics as well as a
pseudoresonance-like structure, an unresonance, that might be observable at the
Tevatron or LHC in, e.g., the Drell-Yan channel. The specific signatures of
this scenario are quite unique and can be used to easily identify this new
physics given sufficient integrated luminosity.Comment: 20 pages, 10 figs; minor text changes, ref added; typos correcte
