    Integrated assessment of the environmental hazard level of technologies of drilling and blasting operations with using emulsion explosives in quarries

    Purpose. Adaptation of the “unified method of quantitative and qualitative assessment of the level of environmental hazard of the operation of industrial enterprises, facilities and introduced technologies in the field of production and ecology” to the technologies of drilling and blasting operations in quarries for extraction of ore and nonmetallic materials with the use of various types of explosives. The methods. They are based on a heuristic evaluation of the impact of priority man-made factors of the technologies used according to the 4-point scale (0, 1, 2, 3), and then – of the complex level of their environmental hazard – according to the total 15-point scale, evenly divided into three qual-itative levels. Findings. The identification of types and sources of environmental hazard for natural environments (atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere, soils and biota) was performed when using emulsion and TNT-containing explosives during drilling and blasting operations in quarries. The intensity, perio-dicity and consequences of various accompanying man-made factors were taken as the criteria of influence of dangerous impact of technological processes on the condition of the above natural en-vironments. It was found that the integrated level of the environmental hazard of man-made impacts of drilling and blasting operations using emulsion explosives was 2.33, in other words, it was “low”. When using TNT-containing explosives it was 5.00, i.e. appeared on the boundary of the first and the second ranges, where the “low” hazard level changes to “moderate”. This is an evi-dence of a higher (more than 2 times) environmental efficiency of using emulsion explosives com-pared to the use of TNT-containing explosives. The originality. The system of identification and management of environmental and technology-related risks under conditions of extraction of ore and nonmetallic materials in quarries by the drill and blast method was proposed, whereupon an integrated assessment of the level of environmental hazard of mining enterprises is proposed to be defined as a sum of average grade points (for each of the man-made factors) according to quantitative-qualitative scale. Practical implications. The developed methods allow determining with a sufficient degree of reli-ability the level of environmental hazard of existing technologies of drilling and blasting operations and substantiating expediency of change-over to emulsion explosive materials

The relevance of this problem is caused by the aggravation of a number of issues of social and economic development of the society that negatively affects the material guaranteeing of employees both by the state and by private entrepreneurs. In the conditions of market economy, employers don’t use various methods of motivation of employees to ensure the labor discipline. The existing problems in the area of guaranteeing discipline are defined in the article. Characteristic features are analyzed; the concepts of «motivation», «stimulus», «legal incentive» are clarified. Motivation presented as two interrelated processes: motivation and stimulation. Stimulation is defined as the management process over an employee’s behavior or a group of employees, which is expressed in a meaningful impact on staff behavior by influencing the conditions of the life and usage of motives that impel such a labor group to work. The importance of legal incentive in the matter of labor discipline is evident, because it is a factor of influence that is used by an employer (or other authorized person) to correct, improve labor behavior of an employee or a group of employees. Common and different features of these concepts are researched. Thus, the fundamental difference between the concepts of «motivation» and «stimulation» is the fact that stimulation is one of the means by the assistance of which motivation can be realized. The following types of motivation like: material, immaterial, moral, organizational are defined and singled out. Motivation mechanisms of a human being are researched, particularly the structure of labor motivation of employees in the modern conditions is studied. Based on the research it is concluded that discipline of employees is almost impossible without external influence on it, which is an incentive and encouragement.Рассмотрены пути повышения дисциплины труда работников. Определены существующие проблемы в сфере обеспечения дисциплины труда. Конкретизированы понятия «мотивация», «стимул» и «правовой стимул». Исследован мотивационный механизм человека, в особенности структура трудовой мотивации работника в современных условиях.     Carrier-induced ferromagnetism in p-Zn1-xMnxTe

    We present a systematic study of the ferromagnetic transition induced by the holes in nitrogen doped Zn1-xMnxTe epitaxial layers, with particular emphasis on the values of the Curie-Weiss temperature as a function of the carrier and spin concentrations. The data are obtained from thorough analyses of the results of magnetization, magnetoresistance and spin-dependent Hall effect measurements. The experimental findings compare favorably, without adjustable parameters, with the prediction of the Rudermann-Kittel-Kasuya-Yosida (RKKY) model or its continuous-medium limit, that is, the Zener model, provided that the presence of the competing antiferromagnetic spin-spin superexchange interaction is taken into account, and the complex structure of the valence band is properly incorporated into the calculation of the spin susceptibility of the hole liquid. In general terms, the findings demonstrate how the interplay between the ferromagnetic RKKY interaction, carrier localization, and intrinsic antiferromagnetic superexchange affects the ordering temperature and the saturation value of magnetization in magnetically and electrostatically disordered systems.Comment: 14 pages, 10 figure

The relevance of the study is due to the need of a comprehensive study of the mechanism of ensuring labor discipline in modern conditions. The specified problems are caused by the aggravation of a number of issues concerning social and economic development of the society that negatively affect endowment of workers from both the state and from private entrepreneurs, as parties of labor legal relations within market economy, unfortunately, do not follow the laws to ensure labor discipline. Existing problems related to the implementation of the mechanism of ensuring discipline have been determined. The definition of the mechanism of ensuring labor discipline has been provided; its components – the impact of legislative activity, the impact of legal proceedings, the impact of administrative procedures and measures to ensure labor discipline have been analyzed. The author has also provided the definition and singled out tax-exempt minimum of persons and tax social benefits that affect the amount of penalties in case of violation of the current legislation. The mechanism to ensure labor discipline has been researched, in particular, the author has studied the elements of labor motivation of workers in the modern conditions. Based on the research the author has concluded that frequent violations of labor discipline, which is the result of the old basis, therefore, points to the expediency of the adjustment of this mechanism.Раскрыто понятие механизма обеспечения дисциплины труда, определены его основные элементы.     Clinical case of chemoresistant tuberculosis in the patient with tuberous sclerosis: difficulties of diagnosis, features of the course and treatment.

    In the practical activities of a modern doctor, significant difficulties are noted in the diagnostics and proper management of patients with hereditary diseases due to the limited coverage of the population by genetic researches. For a long time, the patients with a variety of complaints are observed by doctors of various specialties, and the therapy often has little effect due to a lack of understanding of the true causes of pathological changes. The situation is complicated by case of a combined course of a hereditarily caused disease and some other disease of an infectious, non-infectious or tumor nature. The aim of the research was to study the characteristics of clinical manifestations, course of tuberculosis with resistance to anti-TB drugs in a patient with a rare hereditary disease from the group of phacomotoses - Bourneville-Pringle disease or tuberous sclerosis. This disease has a wide range of clinical manifestations, accompanied with the development of benign neoplasms in various organs and systems, damages to the skin, brain, organs of vision, lungs, kidneys, heart, as well as the musculoskeletal and endocrine system. It leads to development of various infectious and non-infectious pathologies in these organs. The article covers a 4-year period of observation of a young patient with late diagnosed tuberous sclerosis, suffering from pulmonary tuberculosis and tuberculosis of urinary system, includes the initial diagnosis of a specific disease, the course, the dynamics against received treatment and the development of relapse with the formation of resistance to anti-TB drugs. The difficulties in the management of tuberculosis in this patient were in the detection of numerous neoplasms and changes in the internal organs, in particular in the kidneys and lungs, which characterized tuberous sclerosis, on the one hand this contributed to untimely diagnosis of tuberculosis, and on the other hand – worsening the course and the progression of a specific process, as well as an unfavourable prognosis for recovery

    Magnetic oxide semiconductors, oxide semiconductors doped with transition metal elements, are one of the candidates for a high Curie temperature ferromagnetic semiconductor that is important to realize semiconductor spintronics at room temperature. We review in this paper recent progress of researches on various magnetic oxide semiconductors. The magnetization, magneto-optical effect, and magneto-transport such as anomalous Hall effect are examined from viewpoint of feasibility to evaluate the ferromagnetism.     Dilute ferrimagnetic semiconductors in Fe-substituted spinel ZnGa2_2O4_4

    Solid solutions of nominal composition [ZnGa2_2O4_4]1x_{1-x}[Fe3_3O4_4]x_x, of the semiconducting spinel ZnGa2_2O4_4 with the ferrimagnetic spinel Fe3_3O4_4 have been prepared with xx = 0.05, 0.10, and 0.15. All samples show evidence for long-range magnetic ordering with ferromagnetic hysteresis at low temperatures. Magnetization as a function of field for the xx = 0.15 sample is S-shaped at temperatures as high as 200 K. M\"ossbauer spectroscopy on the xx = 0.15 sample confirms the presence of Fe3+^{3+}, and spontaneous magnetization at 4.2 K. The magnetic behavior is obtained without greatly affecting the semiconducting properties of the host; diffuse reflectance optical spectroscopy indicates that Fe substitution up to xx = 0.15 does not affect the position of the band edge absorption. These promising results motivate the possibility of dilute ferrimagnetic semiconductors which do not require carrier mediation of the magnetic moment.Comment: 9 pages and 6 figure

    Intraoperative ultrasonography in pancreatic surgery: staging and resection guidance

    Background: Intraoperative ultrasound examination (IOUS) is indispensable part of modern surgical interventions in tumors of hepatopancreatobiliary zone. In this study retrospective analysis of IOUS efficiency in surgical treatment of pancreatic tumors was provided. Materials and Methods: In the period from January 2013 till November 2015 in the National Cancer Institute IOUS was applied during 76 surgical interventions: for pancreatic head tumors — in 46 (60.5%) patients, for body/tail pancreatic tumors — in 20 (26.3%) patients, in 10 (13.2%) patients — for periampullary zone neoplasms. In IOUS we performed primary tumor assessment (localization, degree of tumor spreading to superior mesenteric vessels, hepatoduodenal ligament vessels, additional foci occurrence in pancreas), and liver metastases detection. Surgical interventions were performed: pancreatoduodenectomy in 52 (68.4%) patients, radical antegrade modal pancreatosplenectomy — in 14 (18.4%) patients. Results: IOUS allowed determining additional tumor foci in pancreas in 2 (2.6%) patients, in 8 (10.5%) observations tumor invasion into portal or superior mesenteric vein was determined. In 21 (27.6%) patient additional hepatic neoplasms were detected (in half of cases — 11.8%, metastases). These findings resulted in change of surgical intervention extent in 23 (30.3%) patients: expansion to combined resections in 14 (18.4%) patients, reduction to symptomatic operations in 5 (6.6%) cases, organ-preserving operations were performed in 4 (5.3%) patients. Variant anatomy of hepatic arterial blood supply was determined in 41 (53.9%) patients that necessitated performance correction of resection stages for preservation of adequate hepatic blood supply. Conclusions: IOUS is a highly-precise diagnostic method substantively influencing operation course in pancreatic tumors, enabling surgeon to provide adequate staging and permanent correction of operation course. Analyzing the elements of this offense by labor the author proves that not every employee is subject to a disciplinary offense. Not any failure to fulfill work duties, but guilty of unlawful can be a sign of the misconduct. The article is accompanied by suggestions for improving the current labor laws.Статья посвящена характеристике состава дисциплинарного проступка как основания привлечения работника к дисциплинарной ответственности. Анализируя элементы состава этого трудового правонарушения, автор обосновывает, что не каждый работник является субъектом дисциплинарного проступка и только виновное и противоправное неисполнение трудовых обязанностей является признаком дисциплинарного проступка.
