Discourse on translation in the light of psychoanalytical theories

Wydział Filologii Polskiej i KlasycznejW przedstawianej rozprawie prowadziłem badania dotyczące możliwości wykorzystania narzędzi wypracowanych na gruncie teorii psychoanalitycznych do opisania zjawisk z dziedziny dyskursu o przekładzie. Liczyłem, że takie zestawienie umożliwi dokonanie krytycznego oglądu sposobów mówienia i myślenia wypracowanego w ramach tego dyskursu; pozwoli pokazać jego ograniczenia i sproblematyzować pojęcia uważane dotąd za transparentne. W swoich badaniach skupiłem się przede wszystkim na analizie kanonicznych tekstów, które odegrały ważną rolę w historii badań nad przekładem w Europie i obu Amerykach. Warto podkreślić, że przedmiotem mojego zainteresowania była analiza dyskursu o przekładzie, zaś same przekłady pozostawały na marginesie moich rozważań. W istocie stanowiły one jedynie tło dla wypowiedzi na temat aktu i procesu przekładu formułowanych przez tłumaczy i krytyków przekładu, które stanowiły właściwy przedmiot moich badań. Dysertację otwiera krytyczna analiza dyskursów psychoanalitycznego i translatologicznego. Odwołuję się do pojęcia mitu, by pokazać rolę jaką mit odgrywa w fundowaniu dyskursu i omawiam dwa założycielskie mity zachodniego dyskursu o przekładzie. W kolejnych rozdziałach odwołuję się do pojęć wypracowanych na gruncie, kolejno, psychoanalizy Freudowskiej, Lacanowskiej i Kristevowskiej, by omówić strukturalny, semiotyczny, społeczny i egzystencjalny wymiar tłumaczenia. Mówiąc o przekładzie przez pryzmat kompleksu Edypa, żałoby i melancholii, pragnienia i roli Innego w jego zainstalowaniu, staram się zaoferować nowe sposoby mówienia i myślenia o przekładzie.In my dissertation I made research on the consequences that could eventuate from the comparison of the translatological and psychoanalytical discourse. I assumed that such comparison will enable a critical description of the manner of speaking and writing characteristic for the field of translation studies: show its limitations and problematise categories that are considered to be transparent within this discourse. My research were based especially on the analysis of canonical texts that played an important role in the history of translation studies in Europe and Americas. It is worth noting that since my dissertation was devoted to analysis of discourse, the very texts of translations didn’t play an important part in my research. In fact they were just settling background for the statements about the act and process of translation formulated by translators and translation critics which were the main matter of concern in my work. Dissertation starts with a critical analysis of translatological and psychoanalytical discourses. In the introduction I recall the term of myth, to show the meaning of mythology in the functioning of the discourse. I also give a comment on the two myths of Western discourse on translation. In the following chapters I refer to concepts developed in the field of Freudian, Lacanian and Kristevian psychoanalysis, to conduct structural, semiotic, social and existential aspects of translation. I make an attempt to offer a new perspective for translation studies by thinking about the process of translation in therms of Oedipal compex, grief and melancholy, the desire and Other’s role in organising them

Towards a total biography? Buty Ikara by Marin Buchowski in the light of Stachura’s writing project – a critical sketch

This critical sketch is dedicated to a new biography of Edward Stachura by Marian Buchowski. A writer like Stachura, whose work is very closely intertwined with his life (at least in his declarations) is a challenging protagonist for a biography. In this article, attempts are made at following the way in which Buchowski tries to bring out another human being in the text. His ideas are juxtaposed and confronted with Stachura’s own life-and-art ideas, as to him looking for various methods of recording existence was among the crucial goals of writing. As a result, the thesis is put forward that some sort of a writer’s “totality” is a feature linking Stachura and Buchowski. In this context, the biography written by Buchowski is not only of importance to research into Stachura’s writing but also a significant countersignature of his work

Prisoedinenie k arbitražnomu soglašeniû po umolčaniû

Determining the subjective and personal scope of an arbitration agreement is a substantial issue considering the disputed case, and one of fundamental importance with respect to the enforcement of the future arbitral award. The provisions of the Polish Code of Civil Procedure (PCCP) delineate situations in which, because the arbitral award considers issues not covered by the arbitration agreement, or because it exceeds the agreement, set -aside proceedings may be instituted, or the enforcement of the award may be denied. This article considers whether, de lege lata, in light of the PCCP, there are solutions to the frequent situations where the non -signatories of an arbitration agreement can be bound by it or, regardless of the subjective scope of the arbitration agreement, the application of an arbitration agreement could be accepted by conduct. The author also studies the issue de lege ferenda, whether, in light of the Polish arbitration law, given recent developments in international arbitration law concerning the formal requirement of arbitration agreements, the acceptance of an arbitration agreement by conduct could be possible

Iterative helicopter rotor load calculations with the use of finite element method

Współczesne rozwiązania konstrukcyjne wirników śmigłowcowych znacznie odbiegają od rozwiązań dotychczas stosowanych. Dotyczy to przeważnie struktur kompozytowych a zwłaszcza ich węzłów mocowania, niejednokrotnie integralnie przechodzących w głowicę wirnika. Szczególnie uwidacznia się to w rozwiązaniach wirników bezłożyskowych, w których wprowadzono kompozytowe elementy skrętne i/lub węzły elastomerowe, niejednokrotnie spełniające rolę tłumików. Dotychczas stosowane modele obliczeniowe stają się zbyt uproszczone i nie pozwalają na ocenę obciążeń oraz sprzężeń strukturalnych pojawiających się zwłaszcza w nasadzie łopaty. Konieczne jest wprowadzenie dokładniejszych modeli struktury łopaty. Taką propozycję przedstawiono w artykule, prezentując iteracyjne rozwiązanie drgań wymuszonych modelu struktury łopaty wirnika pod wpływem obciążeń, w ustalonych i quasi-ustalonych stanach lotu.Recent helicopter rotor design is much different from that applied so far. This statement relates especially to composite joints that are integral with the rotor head. Such a design is observed in hingeless rotor heads, where torsional composite elements or elastomeric joints are introduced. Compu-tational models utilized so far have become too simplified and do not allow loads and structural couplings in the rotor blade root to be accurately assessed. There is a need to introduce morę adeąuate rotor blade models and such a pro-posal is presented in this paper, showing an iterative solution of loaded rotor blade model forced vibrations in steady state and quasi steady state flight conditions
