    Get PDF
An inclusive, digitally-enabled agricultural transformation could help achieve meaningful livelihood improvements for Africa’s smallholder farmers and pastoralists. It could drive greater engagement in agriculture from women and youth and create employment opportunities along the value chain. At CTA we staked a claim on this power of digitalisation to more systematically transform agriculture early on. Digitalisation, focusing on not individual ICTs but the application of these technologies to entire value chains, is a theme that cuts across all of our work. In youth entrepreneurship, we are fostering a new breed of young ICT ‘agripreneurs’. In climate-smart agriculture multiple projects provide information that can help towards building resilience for smallholder farmers. And in women empowerment we are supporting digital platforms to drive greater inclusion for women entrepreneurs in agricultural value chains

Background: Drug interaction occurs when presence of one drug affects the activity of another when, both are co-administered. 6-30% of adverse events (AEs) with significant hospitalizations or death are by drug-drug interactions(DDI). There is increased possibility to prevent the potential drug-drug interactions (pDDIs), if their prevalence and pattern are determined accurately before their occurrence. Hence this study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of pDDIs in ICU patients at BRIMS tertiary care hospital, Bidar. Methods: This prospective observational study included 30 patients admitted in ICU of BRIMS hospital for >24hrs of either gender, aged >18yrs. The study was conducted for a period of 3 months. Data was collected from the case records of patients on the predesigned proforma. Potential drug-drug interactions were classified based on their severity and the risk of Potential drug-drug interactions was estimated by Lexicomp, inc.version; 3.0.1.drug interact android mobile application. Results: Out of 35 patients admitted in the ICU, 30 cases were included in the study. The mean age of study population was 56.3years. The study population was exposed to a total of 330 medicines during the hospital stay with an average of 11.7 drugs per patient. The prevalence of pDDI was 93.3% (28) with an average of 9.75 pDDI per patient. According to Lexicomp drug interact android mobile application majority (63%) of pDDI were found to be moderate in their severity, 67% belonged to type C risk. Conclusions: The study showed higher prevalence of pDDI among ICU patients due to the complexity of the pharmacotherapies administered

Cloud computing is a paradigm that offers enormous advantages to cloud users for example, huge memory, adaptable processing abilities, security to the data and boundless registering capabilities. To utilize the maximum capacity of Cloud computing, information is moved, handled and stored by Cloud Service Providers (CSP). Be that as it may, information owners are suspicious to put their information in cloud that is outside their own control. The main issue with Cloud computing is the manner by which to provide the security and protection of cloud user information being prepared and additionally stored in a Cloud computing condition. With regards to cloud information assurance, the techniques utilized can be fundamentally the same as ensuring information inside a conventional server group. To perform user validation for accessing cloud services, a strong cryptography method is introduced along with a multi factor verification process. Moving information into the cloud implies that the clients have less authority over their information, this implies the cloud clients must believe the CSP to secure the information from both outside and inside attacks. In the proposed work, a Multi Level User Authentication (MLUA) framework is introduced for accessing cloud services. The unauthorized users are not allowed to access cloud resources. The cloud user, data owner and cloud service providers are involved in multi factor authentication. The CSP will generate a Digital Unique Authentication Identity (DUAI) number along with general verification for undergoing multi level verification process. The proposed method is compared with the traditional methods and the results show that the proposed method is better in performance and accuracy in identification of valid cloud users

The knowledge on the cobweb is growing expressively. Without a recommendation theory, the clients may come through lots of instance on the network in finding the knowledge they are stimulated in. Today, many web recommendation theories cannot give clients adequate symbolized help but provide the client with lots of immaterial knowledge. One of the main reasons is that it can't accurately extract users interests. Therefore, analyzing users' Web Log Data and extracting users' potential interested domains become very important and challenging research topics of web usage mining. If users' interests can be automatically detected from users' Web Log Data, they can be used for information recommendation and marketing which are useful for both users and Web site developers. In this paper, some novel algorithms are proposed to mine users' interests. The algorithms are based on visit time and visit density which can be obtained from an analysis of web users' Web Log Data. The experimental results of the proposed methods succeed in finding users interested domains

Sericulture is the ‘Siri’ culture, which means it generates wealth, upon silkworm rearing and silk cocoon production. Morus alba (Mulberry), the sole food source of the silkworm (Bombyx mori) was one of the first domesticated forages in the world and has great economic importance to sericulture. The probability of sericulture and cocoon quality depends on the leaf quality of mulberry as it provides 70% of the protein involved in the silk protein production of the silkworms. Mulberry is prone to attack by many insect pests which cause quantitative and qualitative damage resulting in a decrease in sericulture productivity. Several species of insect pests belonging to different orders of Arthropods like Lepidoptera, Hemiptera and Coleoptera, Diptera, Orthoptera, Hymenoptera, Thysanoptera, have been reported as insect pests on mulberry. Among them leaf defoliators and sap suckers are treated to be major insect pests as they cause more damage to the mulberry. Addressing this concern, around 26 major mulberry pests are identified and their lifecycles are reviewed in detail to understand the underlying mechanisms and to explore effective pest management strategies for biological control and quality production of Mulberry leaf which directly enhances quality cocoon production and silk generatio
