    Analysis of Student Reversible Thinking Skills on Graph Concept

    The ability of reversible thinking in mathematics has less attention, but most of the mathematical subject is reversible. This type of research was qualitative descriptive which aimed to analyze student’s reversible thinking skills on the graph concept. The subject of research were students of mathematics education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Lampung University taking the graph theory in the academic year 2019/2020. Research subjects were 40 people selected by the total sampling technique. The research data was collected through tests, namely the question of Ramsey number. Data were analyzed descriptively with 3 stages, namely data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The results showed that 42.5% of students had reversible thinking skills and 57.5% of students did not have them. Based on the results of this study, it was concluded that most students did not have reversible thinking skills on graph concepts

    SCAFFOLDING DALAM PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA

    Istilah ”scaffolding” berasal dari kata ”scaffold” yang biasa digunakan oleh pekerja bangunan; yang merupakan sruktur sementara yang mendukung pekerja untuk menyelesaikan pekerjaaan yang mereka tidak dapat lakukan. Scaffold memberikan pekerja tempat untuk bekerja dan untuk mencapai daerah pekerjaan yang tidak dapat mereka mencapainya sendiri. Kemudian, istilah scaffolding ini dikembangkan sebagai metaphora untuk menjelaskan bentuk-bentuk bantuan yang disediakan guru atau teman sebaya untuk mendukung belajar. Di dalam proses scaffolding, guru membantu siswa menuntaskan tugas atau konsep pada pada awalnya tidak mampu dia peroleh secara mandiri. Guru hanya memberikan bantuan berupa teknik./keterampilan tertentu dari tugas-tugas yang diluar batas kemampuan siswa. Ketika siswa telah melakukan tanggung jawabnya dalam tugas-tugas maka ketika itu guru mulai dengan proses ”fading”, atau melenyapkan bantuan, agar siswa dapat bekerja secara mandiri. Ide scaffolding pertama kali dikemukakan oleh Lev Vygotsky, yang merupakan bagian dari teorinya ”ZDP”, atau Zone of Proximal Development. ZDP dapat diartikan sebagai daerah antara apa yang dapat dilakukan siswa sendiri pada actual developmental level (tingkat perkembangan saat ini) dan apa yang dicapai siswa tersebut untuk potential developmental level (tingkat perkembangan potensial) bila dibantu oleh orang dewasa/ahli; dan scaffolding memainkan peranan yang penting untuk mencapai level perkembangan potensial tersebut. Berdasarkan teori ZDP ini, scaffolding dapat juga dipandang sebagai suatu strategi pembelajaran. Bagaimana aplikasi scaffolding sebagai suatu strategi pembelajaran diaplikasikan?. Pada makalah ini akan dipaparkan bagaimana scaffolding diaplikasikan dalam pembelajaran, kelebihan dan kekurangan scaffolding, dan temuan atau hasil penelitian yang berkaitan dengan scaffolding.     This descriptive study aims to analyze the implementation of the 2013 curriculum in scientific approach to mathematics learning in junior high school.  The subjects of this study were four mathematics’ teacher of junior high school in Bandar Lampung. Research data obtained through observation and interviews.  The data of this study were analyzed with descriptive statistics that focus on teaching activities in applying scientific approaches, including preliminary, core, and closing activities.  Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the implementation of scientific approach in mathematical learning is 26.1% (low), consists of 20% preliminary activities (low), 8.3% core activities (low), and 50% closing activities (low).http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/mtk/v8i2.pp57-6

    Desain Sistem Kontrol Umpan Balik Pada Lintasan Traktor Tanpa Operator (Design Of Feedback Control System For An Autonomous Tractor Trajectory)

    in the term of precision farming system, this research was carried out in order to develop a trajectory path control method for the autonomous tractor when approaching a target. Firstly, open loop control was considered to design a trajectory control algorithm directly, definitely and simply structure. A proposed trajectory control algorithm called parallel parking theory was developed as non-linear state equation within non-holonomic constraint. To stabilize non-linear controller, the algorithm was derived using the state feedback linearization technique. The vehicle posture can be expressed into position, direction angle and steering angle. In a front-wheel steering vehicle, two controlling inputs, running speed and steering angle. Due to the running speed is difficult to control accurately, thus only the steering angle was controlled. In order to achieve the research objective, research work was carried out to compare the performance developed control algorithm between feedback and open-loop control system. A twenty-nine Ps computer-controlled tractor with four-wheel steering and four-wheel drive was used in this research experiment. For local based positioning method, fan beam laser sensor, fiber optic gyro sensor and incremental type rotary encoder were installed properly on the vehicle. The experimental results showed that after modifying of the developed algorithm into a feedback control form by correcting vehicle direction angle and lateral moving distance had improved its accuracy varied up to about 95%.     META-ANALISIS PENGARUH ALQURUN TEACHING MODEL TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MATEMATIS

    Alqurun Teaching Model (ATM) is a new learning model that has been implemented in several schools (junior and senior high schools). To ensure that ATM has an influence on mathematical ability, a meta-analysis was carried out by calculating the effect size. This descriptive study aims to analyze the effect size of ATM on students' mathematical abilities. The research subjects were 16 research students mathematics education at Faculty Teacher and Training Education, Lampung University. The research data were obtained through observation of 979 students. Data were analyzed descriptively through 3 simultaneous stages, namely (1) identification/coding of data, (2) calculating effect sizes, and (3) interpreting effect sizes according to certain criteria. The results of data analysis show that (1) the overall effect size of ATM on students' mathematical abilities is 1.00 (high) when compared to the problem based learning model of 0.63 (moderate), discovery learning model of 0.76 (moderate), and a project based learning model of 0.63 (moderate), (2) categorically: (i) ATM is predicted to be better implemented at the SMA level than SMP, (ii) ATM is predicted to be better at using LKPD media than teaching materials and PPT media, and (iii) ATM is predicted to provide higher learning outcomes in understanding concepts than communication, representation, and mathematical problem solving.     Assessment of Nugget Size of Spot Weld using Neutron Radiography

    Resistance spot welding (RSW) has been widely used for many years in the fabrication of car body structures, mainly due to the cost and time considerations. The weld quality as well as the nugget size is an issue in various manufacturing and processes due to the strong link between the weld quality and safety. It has led to the development of various destructive and non-destructive tests for spot welding such as peel testing, ultrasonic inspections, digital shearography, and infrared thermography. However, such methods cannot show spot weld nugget visually and the results are very operator’s skill dependent. The present work proposes a method to visualize the nugget size of spot welds using neutron radiography. Water, oil and various concentrations of gadolinium oxide-alcohol mixture were evaluated as a contrast media to obtain the best quality of radiography. Results show that mixture of 5 g gadolinium oxide (Gd2O3) in 25 ml alcohol produces the best contrast. It provides the possibility to visualize the shape and size of the nugget spot weld. Furthermore, it can discriminate between nugget and corona bond.     An Information Support System For Identifying Farming System Part II: A Case Study Of Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Province

    The second part of the study is to validate the developed information system in a selected farming area. For the primary data, a farm survey is conducted in Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Province. The sixty (60) household farms in 6 (six) districts are investigated which were, grouped into animal-based and tractor-based farms. Based on the farm survey, the results described that the total annual water surplus in the study area is .792 mm that reached from November to April and water deficit is 355 mm from May to October. There is also surplus situation of number of animal-drawn and local equipment for land preparation in each district, but deficiency in number of power tiller and it\u27s matching tillage equipment. The sensitivity analysis indicated those yield and crop price are the most significant factor in determining the net return of the crop production system.
