Abstract
The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between self-concept and life-meaning among street children. The proposed hypothesis was that there was a significant relationship between self-concept and life-meaning among street children. This study used correlational approach. The population of the study was street children in Surabaya, East Java. The sample were children aged 13-18 year old who stay or work on the streets more than 4 hours a day. The sampling method used in this study was Snowball sampling with sampel size of 64. The independent variable (X) was self-concept and the dependent variable (Y) was life-meaning. The data were collected using questionnaire and analyzed using Pearson Product Moment correlation technique with the help of SPSS 20 for windows. The result showed that the significance (p) was 0.000 and the correlation (r) was 0.675. Based on the analysis, the hypothesis was accepted. It could be concluded that there was a significant positive relationship between self-concept and life-meaning among street children. It meant that the more positive the self-concept of the street children, their life meaning is also increasing.

Decolourization and degradation of azo Dye, Synozol Red HF6BN, by Pleurotus ostreatus
The present paper focuses on the use of fungus, Pleurotus ostreatus, to decolorize and degrade azo dye, Synazol Red HF6BN. Decolorization study showed that P. ostreatus was able to decolorize 96% Synazol Red HF6BN in 24 days. It was also found that 94% Synazol Red HF6BN containing dye effluent was decolorized by P. ostreatus after 30 days of incubation at room temperature. The enzyme exhibited highest activity at 70°C and at pH 6.0. The enzyme activity was enhanced in the presence of metal cations. High performance liquid chromatography analysis confirmed that this fungal strain is capable of degrading Synazol Red HF6BN dye into metabolites. The observation of no zones of inhibition on agar plates and growth of Vigna radiata in the presence of dye extracted sample indicated that the fungal degraded dye metabolites are nontoxic to beneficial micro-flora and plant growth. Therefore, P. ostreatus has promising potential in colour removal from textile wastewater containing azo dyes.Key words:Azo dyes, decolorization, Pleurotus ostreatus, bioremediation
Human Capital and Economic Growth: Time Series Evidence from Pakistan
Human capital is generally considered as a positive contributor in the economic growth. In this study, we estimate this relationship using time series data of Pakistan for the period 1978 to 2007. A health adjusted education indicator for human capital is used in the standard Cobb-Douglas production function confirms the long run positive relationship between human capital and the economic growth in Pakistan. A sensitivity analysis was also performed in order to check the robustness of the initial findings. The estimation results supported the findings of the previous studies that human capital is positively related to growth and also that the results are robust. The health adjusted education indicator was found to be a highly significant determinant of economic growth, which indicates that both the health and education sectors should be given special attention in order to ensure long run economic growth.Human Capital, Economic Growth, Education and Health
The Factors Causing The Emerging of Transactional Politics in The Local Election in East Kalimantan 2005 From The Perspective of Siyasah Syar'iyyah
This study examines the practice of the Pilkada (Regional election) that took place in East Kalimantan in 2005. The aim is to obtain an overview of the extent to which the democratic process meets the quality standards desired by law and society at large. Based on the findings of the research, the quality standard is not met optimally due to the emergence of several fraudulent practices, one of which is in the form of transactional politics. Transactional politics or what in an Islamic perspective is called risywah (bribery) are strongly prohibited in legislation and haram in Islamic law. However, the reality is that such practices still take place in certain ways, such as gifts, shadaqah, wages, transport fees, and several other ways to get rid of the impression of bribery. This phenomenon occurs due to several factors including 1) weak regulation and law enforcement; 2) weak understanding of politics; 3) weak community ethics; 4) economic factors
The Effectiveness of Mask Required Regulations for Congregants at Jami Mosque In Gowa District Perspective Saddu Zari'ah
This study raises the issue of how effective the Regional Regulations are Obligatory to Wear Markers for the Jami Mosque Congregation in Gowa Regency Saddu Zari'ah's Perspective. From this main problem, it is limited to sub-problems, namely how the effectiveness of the local regulation on the obligation to wear masks for jami mosque congregations in Gowa Regency, as well as how saddu zari'ah's perspective on the mandatory wearing of masks. This study aims to find out the effectiveness of the local regulation on the mandatory wearing of masks for jami mosque congregations in Gowa Regency, and to find out the saddu zari'ah perspective on the mandatory wearing of masks. This descriptive-qualitative field research uses a juridical-syar'iy approach, by collecting data through questionnaires and in-depth interviews for religious leaders, administrators and jami mosque congregations, the data is processed, analyzed to produce conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the local regulations that require wearing masks are effective for jami mosque congregations in Gowa Regency. As many as 74.4% of jami mosque congregations in Gowa Regency always wear masks outside the home, including at the mosque. The effectiveness of the use of masks is based on several reasons: 1) the congregation knows that wearing masks has been required by the government through local regulations, 2) similarly that with the saddu zari'ah method, the regional regulations that require wearing masks are in accordance with Islamic la
Influence of Different Types of Diets on the Growth Performance of Juvenile Guppies (Poecilia reticulata Peters, 1859)
This investigation aimed to analyze the effects of different diets and determine the optimal feed on the growth performance of guppy Poecilia reticulata (Peters, 1859). In the present study, juvenile guppies were procured from commercial fish breeders, Kolathur, Chennai, and fed with four experimental diets, namely Diet I (Control-Pellet feed), Diet II (Formulated feed), Diet III (Dry Tubifex), and Diet IV (Live feed Brachionus plicatilis) to examine the effects on growth and survival rates. In the experiment, 12 glass circular tanks with a volume of 10 L were used, and ten juveniles having an average body length and weight of 0.8 cm and 0.01 g were randomly introduced into each aquarium (80 cm×30 cm×35 cm) in triplicates. During the experimental study, the fish were fed two times a day ad libitum for 90 days. The various growth parameters and proximate composition of the diets were calculated by following standard methods. The findings showed significant differences (p<0.05) in the fish's various growth parameters fed with different diets. The fish fed with Diet IV 52% crude protein performed better than those provided with lower levels. The increase in growth parameters could be attributed to increased levels of dietary crude protein. However, the diet does not have any significant impact on fish survival rates. Thus, it is concluded that the Live Feed B. plicatilis with 52% crude protein is suitable for theoptimum growth of Poecilia reticulata under the current experimental set-up and recommended for feeding juvenile guppies
Effect of Dividend Per Share (DPS) and Earning Per Share (EPS) on Stock Prices in Pharmaceutical Sub Sector Companies
This study aims to determine the effect of Dividend Per Share and Earning Per Share on stock prices in pharmaceutical sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The types of data used in this study are qualitative and quantitative. And the data source used is secondary with a sample size of 4 companies. The analysis method used is multiple linear regression, correlation coefficient test, determination test, F test and t test. The multiple linear regression equation is Y = 787,831 - 2,928 + 8,737. The correlation coefficient R is 0.776 and the coefficient of determination () is 0.602. In the F test, it is obtained that the F-count is 12.878> F-table 3.59 with a significant level of 0.000 <0.05, which means that DPS and EPS together or simultaneously have a significant effect on stock prices. For the t test on the DPS variable t-count = - 0.614 <t-table 2.109 with a significant level of 0.547> from 0.05, it means that DPS has an effect but is not significant on stock prices, while the t test on the EPS variable t-count = 3.328> t- table = 2.109 with a significant level of 0.004 <from 0.05, it means that Earning Per Share has a significant and significant effect on stock prices in pharmaceutical sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. This the first hypothesis proposed in this study is rejected, while the second and third hypotheses are accepte
