    Migration from Gasoline to Gaseous Fuel for Small-scale Electricity Generation Systems

    This paper describes a study that gives a consideration to change fuel source for electriccity generator from gasoline to combustible gas. A gaseous fuel conversion technology is presented and its performance is compared with gasoline. In the experiment, two types of load were tested, resistive and resistive-inductive. By using both fuels mostly the power factor (Cos φ) of resistive-inductive load variations were greater than 0.8, and they had slight difference on operational voltage. The drawback of using gaseous fuel is the frequency of the electricity might be not reach the standard frequency (i.e. 50 Hz). In the lab scale experiment, the gasoline consumption increased proportionally with the load increase, while using gaseous fuel the consumption of gas equal also increased where the average consumption value is 100 gram per 15 minutes operation for the tested load in the experiment. The main advantage using gaseous fuel (liquefied petroleum gas or biogas) compared to gasoline is a cleaner emitted gas after combustion

    Telah dilaporkan penelitian untuk mengetahui senyawa yang memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dan antibakteri dalam ekstrak etanol buah namnam (C. cauliflora L.) menggunakan instrumen GC-MS. Hasil analisa GC-MS menunjukkan adanya senyawa 5-hiroksimetilfurfural sebagai komponen utama dalam ekstrak etanol buah namnam. Ekstrak etanol buah namnam memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dengan nilai IC50 sebesar 328,29 ppm dan memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap E. coli dan S. aureus dengan zona hambat masing-masing 16 mm pada konsentrasi 20%

    Intervention strategies for stunting based on analytic network process in Bangka Belitung Province of Indonesia

    Stunting affects stature with all the consequences of disruption of growth and development and also affects economic productivity. In Indonesia, which is mostly archipelago, stunting interventions require a multi-sectoral convergence strategy. Difficulties often occur in coordinating multi-sectoral cooperation in the policy process. It is even more challenging to formulate and define intervention strategies at different administrative levels. The Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) approach, such as Analytic Network Process (ANP), is one of the multi-criteria measurement approaches used to obtain the relative priority scale of individual evaluations relative dependence between elements. This approach is possible for use in the public sector, such as stunting interventions, with a high amount of information, interactions, and complexity levels. Therefore, this research aimed to develop an institutional strategy model for stunting intervention in the archipelago. The study was located at Institut PertanianBogor (IPB) University, Bogor and Bangka Belitung Island Province (Bangka and West Bangka Regency). The research method used pairwise comparison techniques with the ANP approach of 15 expert informants selected purposively based on their expertise, position and work. The framework model's construction in this study was carried out through a literature review of strategic issues consisting of criteria and indicators in decision-making for stunting reduction. Data analysis utilized Superdecisions version 2.8 software. The study results emphasized the priority strategies for nutrition-specific interventions in the initial phase of the first 1000 days of life, namely the conception period, pregnancy, and children under two years. Also, priority strategies for nutrition-sensitive interventions emphasized the importance of integrative holistic care patterns with access to safe water and improved sanitation. Based on this research, it can be concluded that the priority strategy model for stunting reduction in Indonesia, especially the archipelago, requires simultaneous multi-sectoral convergence. Recommendations for further research are to develop an intervention model in the practice of nutritious feeding with integrated, holistic, clean water, and improved sanitation access by the characteristics of the research location

    Program Turnaround di PT Elnusa Tbk merupakan langkah fundamental untuk melakukan Perubahan diberbagai aspek. Penelitian bertujuan mengkaji turunan dari program tersebut berupa pengaruh kompetensi, motivasi dan kepuasan kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan. Penelitian ini menggunakan Analisis Jalur dengan pengambilan contoh stratified random sampling with proportional allocation terhadap karyawan PT Elnusa Tbk bagian shared service dengan 45 contoh. Hasil penelitian menunjukan tata nilai kompetensi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap kepuasan kerja, motivasi berpengaruh nyata terhadap kepuasan kerja karyawannya. Hal lainnya kepuasan kerja memiliki pengaruh nyata terhadap kinerja karyawan. Untuk itu, evaluasi mengenai sistem kompensasi perlu memerhatikan level dan beban kerja karyawan serta sistem komunikasi untuk menjaga motivasi kerja karyawan Perusahaan

    Telah dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui toksisitas dari ekstrak daun pandan wangimenggunakan metode Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT). Ekstrak dibuat dengan cara maserasimenggunakan tiga macam pelarut, yaitu butanol, etil asetat, dan petroleum eter. Uji toksisitasdilakukan dengan menggunakan larva udang Artemia salina Leach yang berumur 48 jam. Efektoksik masing-masing ekstrak diidentifikasi dengan presentase kematian larva udangmenggunakan analisis probit (LC50). Ekstrak aktif kemudian diuji kandungan fitokimianya dansenyawa bioaktif yang terkandung di dalamnya dengan menggunakan GC-MS.     Semakin pesatnya perkembangan teknologi penangkapan serta adanya larangan penggunaan alat tangkap trawl, maka nelayan lamongan terutama di perairan Brondong banyak yang menggunakan pukat tarik cantrang. Demi mendapatkan hasil tangkapan yang banyak para nelayan memodifikasi ukuran utama pada pukat tarik cantrang yang mereka gunakan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh pada ukuran pukat tarik cantrang yang berbeda ukuran utama serta yang paling dominan sehingga hasil tangkapan bertambah. Metode deskriptif digunakan dalam penelitian ini, pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling. Penelitian dilakukan di dua tempat yaitu Desa Brondong dan Desa Kandangsemangkon. Analisis data yang digunakan ada dua yaitu regresi sederhana dan regresi berganda. Dari hasil analisis regresi sederhana dan berganda terdapat persamaan hasil yaitu bagian pukat tarik cantrang yang paling berpengaruh terhadap hasil tangkapan adalah penambahan panjang tali penarik, dalam regresi sederhana mempunyai pengaruh terhadap hasil tangkapan sebesar 0,396 kg jika ada penambahan 1 m pada panjang tali penarik. Pada regresi berganda jika panjang tali penarik ditambah 1 m maka hasil tangkapan akan meningkat sebesar 0,323 kg. Jadi, bagian yang paling dominan mempengaruhi hasil tangkapan adalah panjang tali penarik
