Studentsā Soft Skills and Their Readiness Towards Industrial Revolution in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET): A Malaysian Sight
Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0) has created massive uncertainty, where the human workforce will be replaced by automation and robotics. Regarding this matter, every Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) student was required to acquire both technical skills and soft skills to sustain their career in a future working environment. Unfortunately, students faced the issue of lacking soft skills, which would have an impact on their readiness to face IR4.0. Thus, this study was conducted to assess the level of TVET students\u27 soft skills and their readiness level to thrive in the industrial revolution, as well as to determine the relationship between the two variables, which are soft skills and readiness to thrive in the industrial revolution. Based on the results, showed that the students in this TVET institution had good soft skills and a moderate level of readiness to thrive in the industrial revolution. The results are also shown that there is a moderately strong relationship between soft skills among TVET students in this TVET institution with their readiness to thrive in the industrial revolution, r (127) = .561, p = .000. The results of the study prove that the student\u27s level of readiness to face IR4.0 are influenced by the acquisition of soft skills, as having soft skills would affect the students\u27 enthusiasm to be ready for IR4.0 adoption.
 
Beyond The Classroom: Linking TVET Educatorsā Knowledge and Skills for Industry 4.0 Readiness
The integration of modern technologies such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things (IoT) is causing a significant transformation in the education sector during the Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0). Education is increasingly focused on fostering digital literacy and creativity to equip students with the necessary abilities to confront future issues. However, educators in Malaysia continue to encounter difficulties in comprehending and implementing the principles of Industrial Revolution 4.0 within their instructional environment. The primary impediment to instructors properly incorporating technology in teaching and learning is the absence of exposure and training opportunities specifically focused on technology 4.0. Thus, this study aimed to determine the proficiency of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) educators in terms of their knowledge and skills throughout the era of IR 4.0. This study included a total of 135 participants from three TVET institution in the state of Johor, Malaysia. The study utilised a quantitative methodology to collect conclusive and unambiguous evidence for statistical analysis through the use of a questionnaire. The study\u27s findings indicate that most of the TVET educators possess a high level of preparedness in terms of knowledge (M=4.05) and skills (M=4.13) throughout the era of IR 4.0. The findings indicate a significant correlation between the proficiency of TVET teachers in the context of the IR 4.0, with a correlation coefficient of 0.46 (p < .001). This suggests that as these teachers become more proficient, IR 4.0 technologies are more successfully integrated into educational processes. Well-equipped educators are crucial in educating pupils for a digitally advanced workforce. Tinjauan masalah pengurusan proses PBS dan ciri-ciri elemen pentaksiran yang perlu ada dalam satu sistem pengurusan eportfolio PBS
Pelan Induk Pembangunan Pendidikan (PIPP) menyatakan bahawa cabaran utama yang dihadapi Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia (KPM) ialah mengurangkan pembelajaran berorientasikan peperiksaan di sekolah. Untuk mencapai matlamat ini, pelan ini mencadangkan supaya penilaian di sekolah ditukarkan kepada sistem Pentaksiran Berasaskan Sekolah (PBS) berdasarkan kepada penilaian tugasan. Matlamat utama PBS ini adalah untuk mempertingkatkan kualiti pembelajaran, pengajaran dan penilaian. Berdasarkan pentaksiran ini, guru-guru akan diberikan lebih tanggungjawab dalam membangunkan penilaian dan mengaitkannnya dalam pengajaran (Hwa, 2008). Keupayaan pelajar pula akan diukur berdasarkan kriteria dan piawai tertentu berdasarkan silibus subjek dan dipantau oleh panel terdiri daripada pakar-pakar subjek berkenaan (Dudley dan Luxton, 2008)
Revolusi Industri
Terhasilnya buku ini adalah atas hasrat untuk berkongsi sedikit pengetahuan mengenai
revolusi industri terkini yang pesat berkembang mengikut peredaran masa. Sejajar dengan
kehendak pendidikan abad 21, atas kesedaran bahawa masih ramai lagi antara kita masih
kurang cakna tentang proses yang sedang pesat berlangsung ini. Dengan adanya
transformasi sebegini, proses pertumbuhan ekonomi menjadi lebih kuat dan menghasilkan
tahap produksi lebih tinggi.
Penggunaan teknologi yang semakin berkembang pesat ke serata dunia termasuklah
di Malaysia dan telah mempengaruhi manusia setiap hari hingga tidak boleh dibayangkan
bagaimana dunia hari ini tanpa penggunaan teknologi dalam kehidupan seharian. Dalam
melahirkan modal insan yang berdaya saing menghadapi revolusi industri, pihak universiti
dan syarikat antarabangsa sentiasa menjalin kerjasama yang baik. Dengan adanya platform
yang canggih sebagai contoh dalam teknologi IoT ini, keupayaan berkomunikasi dengan
efisyen secara lisan dan bertulis menjadi sangat kritikal pada masa kini. Pada hari ini, sesi
perbincangan boleh dilakukan di mana-mana sahaja tanpa mengira sempadan. Oleh itu, jika
bahasa dan seni komunikasi tidak dijaga dengan baik, ia boleh menimbulkan konflik antara
komunikasi, salah faham dan kerja berpasukan yang kurang berkesan.
Penggunaan teknologi-teknologi yang canggih menjadi semakin meluas mengikut
peredaran zaman. Setiap individu perlulah meningkatkan potensi diri selaras dengan
pembangunan negara agar kita tidak jauh ketinggalan. Dengan berkembangnya
pembangunan negara yang begitu pesat ini juga, setiap individu perlu memberi sokongan
yang padu agar negara kita menjadi negara yang setanding dengan negara maju yang lain
serta menjadi negara yang kompetitif. Ternyata revolusi industri ini mempunyai banyak
kesan baik dan memberi manfaatnya kepada orang ramai tetapi jika ia tidak ditangani
dengan baik akan menyebabkan kesan buruk kepada negara
Favourable approach that influence autism students learning language process
Education is important for all, including those students with special needs.In this context, learning process for students with special needsis certainly different from normal students, with special developed curriculum, as well as special skills for teachers are devotedfor teaching specific courses.This study investigatesthe special education teachersāapproach in teaching phonics of the language (i.e. Bahasa Melayu)for autism students, focusing on three elements; namely learning module, oral language and multimedia application. A survey study was designed using questionnaire involving 42 special education teachers from primary schools in the Southern Peninsular of Malaysia.Descriptive analysis were used to obtain percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The results;a moderate level application of the module (M = 3.43, SD = 0.654) and the oral language (M = 3.64, SD = 0.570), but a high level of the multimedia application(M = 4.14, SD = 0.612). The multimedia elements wasthe most favorable approach in the teaching and learning process of autism students.The implication;more special design of a multimedia materials are needed for teaching phonics for language learning to help autism students to speaking correctly
DISTRACTION IN LEARNING: A CASE-STUDY OF MISDEMEANOUR FACTORS AMONG VOCATIONAL STUDENTS FROM TEACHER PERSPECTIVES
Previous studies reported that disciplinary problems that occur amongst school students from teacher perspective; while some studies reported that this problem becomes increasingly serious and widespread, but both retract students from learning. Henceforth, this survey was conducted to investigate how far the problem occurred among vocational college students especially catering students. An interview session was conducted with several catering teachers in two vocational colleges in Southern Region of Malaysia, which focuses on three types of problems namely bullying, truancy and stealing. Data were analysed using thematic analysis using deductive approach. Result indicated that these discipline problems occur among catering students is at alarming level. Peers and studentsā background contributed to studentsā misdemeanours. Thus, these factors can be a starting point for further mitigating the cases and more focuses should be given on studentsā learning
CULTIVATING TEACHERSā CREATIVITY TOWARDS EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT (ESD) IN TECHNICAL AND VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING (TVET)
Background and Purpose: Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is a mechanism to educate people and make awareness toward sustainable development aims to develop competencies that enable and empower individuals to reflect on their actions. Although efforts to cultivate ESD have been implemented, government initiatives are still inadequate as the ESD issues, perspectives and skills integrate into various curriculum component that most research pursues are not apparent in the curriculum.
Methodology: This quantitative research design aims to identify the relationship between the components of creativity on the pedagogical practice of ESD among teachers. There are three components of creativity which are domain skills, creative thinking skills and motivation. As for ESD, there are three pedagogical practices, namely holistic ideas, routines and structures besides professional knowledge creation. This study has carried out a survey design and uses quantitative approach by distributing questionnaire to the respondents randomly, comprising of 98 teachers from TVET institutions in Johor, for data collection. The data derived from questionnaires is analyzed with the aid of the Statistical Packages for Social Science (SPSS) version 21. Descriptive statistics were used to identify the level of creativity components and ESD pedagogical practices among teachers in the TVET institution. The Spearman correlation has been used to evaluate the inferential statistical analysis by determining the relationship between the creativity components with ESD pedagogical practice among teachers in the TVET institution.
Findings: Based on the results, it showed that the teachers in the TVET institution had high level of creativity components and ESD pedagogical practices. The results of the Spearman correlation analysis showed a significant relationship between creativity component to the pedagogical practice of ESD with a value of r = 0.724 and sig = 0.000 (p <0.05). The analysis reveals a strong relationship between creative components and ESD pedagogical practice. This suggested that the teachers' level of creativity influences pedagogical practice of ESD since having creativity affects teachers' awareness and concern for the environment for sustainable development as well as achieving the country's educational goals.
Contributions: The results found a definite significant difference between the components of creativity on pedagogical practice for ESD among teachers in this TVET institution. Thus, the results of the study prove that the creativity component can influence pedagogical practice for ESD.

Association of interest, attitude and learning habit in mathematics learning towards enhancing studentsā achievement
Mathematics is fundamentally important for Science and Technology, as well as in engineering. Mathematics is compulsory for students since all engineering subjects were Mathematically oriented. However, the preliminary study found that studentsā achievement in Mathematics courses have been associated with three main factors, namely interest, attitude and learning habit, as in the KASH Model (Knowledge, Attitude, Skills and Habits). This Model stipulated that poor performance is not just lacking in knowledge and skills but also including poor attitude and habits. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the studentsā level and relationship between interest, attitude and learning habit based on KASH Model. A total of 58 students were selected as a sample of the study, who enrolled in the Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics and Solid Mechanics subjects. A set of questionnaires with 21 items was used to collect data; a descriptively analysis was used to find the mean and percentage, as well as correlation index using Pearson. The results; high level of factor of interest, attitude and learning habit, and high correlation between interest, attitude and habit. The implication is that teaching and learning process must equally fostering all these variables to achieve a high level of studentsā achievement, especially in Mathematics subjects
The characteristics of the Computer Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) through Moodle: a view on studentsā knowledge construction process
Computer Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) is based on the pedagogical process of observation where students will learn progressively through active group interaction. CSCL is an emerging branch of the learning sciences concerned with studying on how people can learn together with the help of computers. Thus, this research was conducted to measure the characteristics of the CSCL learning environment through Moodle that assists the process of studentsā knowledge construction during the teaching and learning process. The CSCL learning environment is an educational learning system which develops to help the teachers and students in managing School Based Assessment (SBA) in selected secondary school in Malaysia. Samples involved two groups of students and two Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) teachers from two different schools. A total of 61 students, who were taught using CSCL approach through Moodle, underwent the process of teaching and learning using their school computer laboratory. The finding shows that the characteristics of the CSCL learning approach that used in this learning environment for the first group are at a high level with overall mean of 4.17 and the second group at moderate level with overall mean of 3.62. The result proves that the characteristics of the CSCL learning environment help students to build their knowledge during teaching and learning process at the high level with an overall mean score of 3.87. The mean of these two groups may vary according to studentsā background, as well as learning environment facilities. Although, CSCL leads to studentsā self-development, improving learning quality, sharing knowledge and assisting studentsā in the process of building their knowledge, implementation of CSCL must first considering the technology relevant facilities, especially computer laboratory and internet accessibility in school. The implication is that designing a good CSCL must also taking into account the targeted usersā cultural background and socioeconomic factor
Pembangunan Aplikasi Android Dalam Membantu Kanak-Kanak Prasekolah Belajar Membaca Sebagai Asas Dalam Bidang TVET: Development of Android Applications to Assist Preschool Children in Learning to Read as A Foundation in the Field of TVET
Abstrak: Kajian ini dijalankan untuk merekabentuk dan membangunkan aplikasi android dalam membantu kanak-kanak prasekolah belajar membaca sebagai asas dalam bidang TVET dari aspek reka bentuk kandungan, interaksi dan antara muka. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah kajian reka bentuk dan pembangunan produk (DDR) di mana pengkaji memberi tumpuan kepada pembangunan aplikasi android untuk proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif serta reka bentuk pengajaran Model ADDIE. Pengkaji menggunakan kaedah persampelan rawak bertujuan dengan memilih 3 orang staf akademik yang mempunyai latar belakang pendidikan TVET yang sesuai untuk tujuan kajian. Staf akademik ini terdiri daripada 2 orang ahli akademik yang berkemahiran dan berpengalaman luas dalam bidang android kreatif dan seorang ahli akademik dalam bidang pendidikan prasekolah dari institusi pendidikan berkaitan. Data dikumpul dan dianalisis dengan menggunakan nilai kekerapan dan peratusan berdasarkan borang senarai semak yang telah diedarkan. Setiap item dikelaskan kepada kumpulan dan data kekerapan direkodkan sebagai peratusan. Kajian mendapati bahawa proses dalam menentukan kebolehfungsian aplikasi android ini dalam membantu kanak-kanak prasekolah belajar membaca dari aspek reka bentuk kandungan, interaksi dan antara muka mendapat maklumbalas yang positif dari pakar di mana mereka beranggapan bahawa aplikasi android ini berkesan sebagai salah satu medium bagi pembelajaran secara kendiri. Dapatan kajian ini boleh digunakan oleh setiap individu sebagi panduan khususnya dalam membantu perkembangan TVET kanak-kanak di peringkat prasekolah lagi.

Abstract: From the perspectives of content design, interaction, and interface, this study was undertaken to design and develop an android application to help preschool children learn to read as a foundation in the field of TVET. This study uses the research design and product development (DDR) method where the researcher focuses on the development of android applications for the teaching and learning process using a quantitative approach and the ADDIE Model teaching design. The researcher employed a random sample technique to identify three academic staff members with an appropriate TVET educational background for the investigation. This academic staff is comprised of two highly skilled and experienced academics in the field of creative android and one academic in the subject of early childhood education from an affiliated educational institution. On the basis of a distributed checklist form, frequency and percentage values were used to collect and analyse data. The classification of each item into a group and the recording of frequency data as a percentage. The study found that the process of determining the functionality of this android application in assisting preschool children to learn to read in terms of content design, interaction, and interface received positive feedback from experts, who believe that this android application is effective as one of the mediums for learning self-directed reading. Each individual can utilise the findings of this study as a reference, especially for fostering the growth of TVET among preschool-aged children
