From a Kantian perspective, in this discussion, we looked to develop a new multi perspective model to scrutinise psychological processes involved in forming positive decision-making protocols, based on formulated expectations and/or impacts to a positive outcome. Within the study, sales executive research conference, we used aspects drawn from Lyapunov theory, which concerns the behaviour of dissimilar but "proximate" resolutions to a specific problem, to investigate dynamic factors of personalised key expectations. This was done in an effort to develop effective attribution linked factors applicable in areas of specialised research (sales). The new structure adopted, called the (SAC) perspective, includes aspects of (Specialism), whereby, Persons or information, which can help, deliver applicable insights and deliver information on the product in the right manner. (Achievement), whereby personalised achievement may be aligned to the objectives of the organisation. (Coordination), whereby, personalised involvement coordination related to activities such as reporting, analysis, relationship building. Utilisation of this paradigm allowed determinable elements of expectation, which, directly linked to specific events and facilitate elements of personalised interest underpinning aspirational outcome(s). Thus, making decision making a more a priori judgment, and therefore, easier to predict and act upon

Description, Host-specificity, and Strain Selectivity of the Dinoflagellate Parasite Parvilucifera sinerae sp.nov. (Perkinsozoa)

17 pages, 7 figures, 2 tablesA new species of parasite, Parvilucifera sinerae sp. nov., isolated froma bloomof the toxic Dinoflagellate Alexandrium minutum in the harbor of Arenys de Mar (Mediterranean Sea, Spain), is described. This species is morphologically, behaviourally, and genetically (18S rDNA sequence) different from Parvilucifera infectans, until now the only species of the genus Parvilucifera to be genetically analyzed. Sequence análisis of the 18S ribosomal DNA supported P. Sinerae as a new species placed within the Perkinsozoa and close to P. infectans. Data on the seasonal occurrence of P. sinerae, its infective rates in natural and laboratory cultures, and intra-species strain-specific Resistance are presented. Life-cycle studies in field simples showed that the dinoflagellate resting zygote (restingcyst) was resistant to infection, but the mobile zygote (planozygote) orpelli clestage (temporary cyst) became infected. The effects of Light and salinity level son the growth of P. sinerae were examined, and the results showed that low salinity levels promote both sporangial germination and higher rates of infection. Our findings on this newly described parasite point to a complex host—parasite interaction and provide valuable information that leads to a reconsideration of the biological strategy to control dinoflagellate blooms by jeans of intentional parasitic infectionsThis research was funded by the EU Project SEED (GOCE-CT-2005-003875).

The objective of this thesis is to prove several theorems involving K!. These theorems were taken from the paper Factional Function and Generalizations by Dr. Manjul Bhargava of Harvard University in the November 2000 issue of The American Mathematically Monthly Magazine and the book An Introduction To The Theory of Numbers by Ivan Niven et al. Also, we introduce the concept of p-ordering and how to use it in generating k!

Credit stability in the Philippines: A market to country level approach

    No full text
The study was in-depth analysis of the stability of the credit market in the Philippines. Using vector autoagression (VAR), the study checked the credit variables, specifically consumer loans that affect the market as a whole. It also studied how the market reacts to fluctuations in these variables through an imposition of an impulse response. The shocks helped the researchers understand how resilient the credit market in the country to credit volatility. Additional analysis was conducted to check whether the credit market has a strong influence in the Philippine economy. Quarterly (2002Q1-2011Q4) data of the variables in the study was sourced from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), International Monetary Fund (IMF), Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), and Colliers International Philippines. Results showed that the credit stability at the market level in terms of risk premium is affected by shocks in credit card loans, auto loans and in the capital adequacy ratio. Conversely, the country model reflected that credit shocks do not significantly affect the productivity of the economy

Reputation cues as signals in the sharing economy

    No full text
Reputation cues, like star ratings, signal qualities of service providers in the sharing economy and may affect user behavior. Guided by concepts from signaling theory and using a repeated measures experiment (N = 221), this study manipulated the level of star ratings of ride sharing drivers. Intuitive findings are perceived service quality and willingness to use the service provider are higher when the star rating is high versus low. Extending prior work, perceived service quality mediates the effect of reputation on willingness, explaining 83% of the total effect. Also, the direct effect of reputation cues on perceived service quality depends, albeit weakly (η2p = 0.02), on how much users say they pay attention to them. These novel findings clarify the kinds of mental processing that occur when users of shared services evaluate reputation cues. We discuss findings in terms of costly signaling and consider practical implications for users and providers.Published versio

High-frequency stimulation of the subthalamic nucleus modulates neuronal activity in the lateral habenula nucleus

    No full text
High frequency stimulation (HFS) of the subthalamic nucleus (STN) is often used to treat movement disability in advanced Parkinson's disease, but some patients experience debilitating psychiatric effects including depression. Interestingly, HFS of the STN modulates 5-HT neurons in the dorsal raphe nucleus (DRN) which are linked to depression, but the neural substrate of this effect is unknown. Here we tested the effect of STN stimulation on neuronal activity in the lateral habenula nucleus (LHb), an important source of input to DRN 5-HT neurons and also a key controller of emotive behaviours. LHb neurons were monitored in anaesthetised rats using single unit extracellular recording, and localisation within the LHb was confirmed by juxtacellular labelling. HFS of the STN (130 Hz) evoked rapid changes in the firing rate of the majority of LHb neurons tested (38 of 68). Some LHb neurons (19/68) were activated by HFS while others (19/68), distinguished by a higher basal firing rate, were inhibited. LHb neurons that project to the DRN were identified using antidromic activation and collision testing (n=17 neurons). Some of these neurons (5/17) were also excited by HFS of the STN, and others (7/17) were inhibited although this was only a statistical trend. In summary, HFS of the STN modulated the firing of LHb neurons, including those projecting to the DRN. The data identify that the STN impacts on the LHb-DRN pathway. Moreover, this pathway may be part of the circuitry mediating the psychiatric effects of STN stimulation experienced by patients with Parkinson's disease. This article is protected by copyright.
