    Первые данные по морским диатомовым Турции, основанные на материале, собранном в Мраморном море, были опубликованы С. Эренбергом в 1843 г. Бентосные морские диатомовые изучены намного слабее, по сравнению с пресноводными. Материалы для настоящего исследования собраны на одной станции в бухте Аклиман, Синоп, в декабре 2012 г. Ehrenberg in 1843. Regarding to benthic diatom studies, marine diatoms are understudy comparing to freshwater diatoms.     Electronic Structure and Optical Properties of Silicon Nanocrystals along their Aggregation Stages

    The structural control of silicon nanocrystals is an important technological problem. Typically a distribution of nanocrystal sizes and shapes emerges under the uncontrolled aggregation of smaller clusters. The aim of this computational study is to investigate the evolution of the nanocrystal electronic states and their optical properties throughout their aggregation stages. To realistically tackle such systems, an atomistic electronic structure tool is required that can accommodate about tens of thousand nanocrystal and embedding lattice atoms with very irregular shapes. For this purpose, a computationally-efficient pseudopotential-based electronic structure tool is developed that can handle realistic nanostructures based on the expansion of the wavefunction of the aggregate in terms of bulk Bloch bands of the constituent semiconductors. With this tool, the evolution of the electronic states as well as the polarization-dependent absorption spectra correlated with the oscillator strengths over their aggregation stages are traced. The low-lying aggregate nanocrystal states develop binding and anti-binding counterparts of the isolated states. Such information may become instrumental with the maturity of the controlled aggregation of these nanocrystals.Comment: 5 pages, 7 figure

    Grasp Stability Prediction for a Dexterous Robotic Hand Combining Depth Vision and Haptic Bayesian Exploration.

    Grasp stability prediction of unknown objects is crucial to enable autonomous robotic manipulation in an unstructured environment. Even if prior information about the object is available, real-time local exploration might be necessary to mitigate object modelling inaccuracies. This paper presents an approach to predict safe grasps of unknown objects using depth vision and a dexterous robot hand equipped with tactile feedback. Our approach does not assume any prior knowledge about the objects. First, an object pose estimation is obtained from RGB-D sensing; then, the object is explored haptically to maximise a given grasp metric. We compare two probabilistic methods (i.e. standard and unscented Bayesian Optimisation) against random exploration (i.e. uniform grid search). Our experimental results demonstrate that these probabilistic methods can provide confident predictions after a limited number of exploratory observations, and that unscented Bayesian Optimisation can find safer grasps, taking into account the uncertainty in robot sensing and grasp execution

However, opaqueness and transparencies of the container and the content, and variability of materials, shapes, and sizes, make this estimation difficult. In this paper, we present a range of methods and an open framework to benchmark acoustic and visual perception for the estimation of the capacity of a container, and the type, mass, and amount of its content. The framework includes a dataset, specific tasks and performance measures. We conduct an in-depth comparative analysis of methods that used this framework and audio-only or vision-only baselines designed from related works. Based on this analysis, we can conclude that audio-only and audio-visual classifiers are suitable for the estimation of the type and amount of the content using different types of convolutional neural networks, combined with either recurrent neural networks or a majority voting strategy, whereas computer vision methods are suitable to determine the capacity of the container using regression and geometric approaches. Classifying the content type and level using only audio achieves a weighted average F1-score up to 81% and 97%, respectively. Estimating the container capacity with vision-only approaches and estimating the filling mass with audio-visual multi-stage approaches reach up to 65% weighted average capacity and mass scores. These results show that there is still room for improvement on the design of new methods. These new methods can be ranked and compared on the individual leaderboards provided by our open framework

    Candidate-gene studies on fibromyalgia susceptibility often include a small number of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), which is a limitation. Moreover, there is a paucity of evidence in Europe.     The diagnosis and management of neuropathic pain in daily practice in Belgium: an observational study

    <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>This open, multicentre, observational survey investigated how physicians diagnose neuropathic pain (NeP) by applying the Leeds Assessment of Neuropathic Symptoms and Signs (LANSS) scale, and how neuropathic pain conditions are managed in daily practice in Belgium.</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>Physicians were asked to complete the Leeds Assessment of Neuropathic Symptoms and Signs (LANSS) scale for diagnosing NeP, and to fill out a questionnaire regarding the management of NeP, together with a questionnaire evaluating the impact of pain on sleep and daily life. Data on 2,480 pain patients were obtained. A LANSS score ≥ 12 (meaning NeP is most probably present) was reported for 1,163 patients. Pathologies typically associated with NeP scored above 12 on the LANSS scale, contrary to pathologies generally considered as being of non-neuropathic origin.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>Over 90% of the patients with a LANSS score ≥ 12 reported that the pain impaired sleep. A high impact on social, family and professional life was also recorded. Additional examinations were performed in 89% of these patients. Most patients were taking multiple drugs, mainly paracetamol and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, indicating that physicians generally tend to follow treatment guidelines of chronic nociceptive pain, rather than the specific ones for NeP. Specific neuropathic guidelines rather recommend the use of anti-epileptic drugs, tricyclic antidepressants or weak opioids as first-line treatment.</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>In our survey, application of the LANSS scale lead to pronounced treatment simplification with fewer drug combinations. Awareness about NeP as well as its specific treatment recommendations should be raised among healthcare providers. We concluded that the LANSS screening scale is an interesting tool to assist physicians in detecting NeP patients in routine clinical care.</p
