    Upaya Meningkatkan Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis Siswa Melalui Penerapan Pendekatan Problem Solving Polya

    Pengembangan kemampuan pemecahan masalah menjadi salah satu hal yang hendak dicapai dari pembelajaran dalam bidang matematika. Faktanya, di salah satu sekolah di Jakarta Barat, kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa masih rendah. Berdasarkan identifikasi masalah ini, maka paper ini ditulis dengan tujuan untuk menjelaskan upaya meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas 9 melalui penerapan pendekatan problem solving Polya. Metode yang digunakan yaitu kualitatif deskriptif. Secara garis besar penerapan pendekatan ini dimulai dengan tahap pendahuluan, pengembangan, penerapan, hingga penutup. Kemudian lebih spesifik lagi, pada saat menyelesaikan masalah matematis digunakan langkah-langkah menurut Polya. Setelah penerapan pendekatan ini didapati bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa menjadi meningkat. Ini terlihat berdasarkan peningkatan presentase terpenuhinya setiap indikator kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada saat pengerjaan soal. Saran kepada pelaku pendidik yang hendak membahas topik yang serupa yaitu penerapan pendekatan problem solving Polya, adalah dapat memberi latihan soal masalah matematis yang lebih variatif

    Analysis of Self-Regulated Learning of Students in Mathematics Education Study Program in Number Theory Course

    The number theory is the first mathematics content course in the UPH FIP Mathematics Education study program, which does not have a response class. The response class was conducted as a companion to four content subjects with close relations with school mathematics content, namely Calculus 1, Calculus 2, Geometry, and Linear Algebra. Based on the questionnaire that has been distributed, prospective mathematics teachers consider that the response class is beneficial for them in attending lectures and in exploring related mathematical concepts. However, on the other hand, students inevitably have to go back to learning to be determined with the response class. The implication is that students' self-regulated learning will not develop optimally. However, self-regulated learning is an essential aspect that prospective teachers need to have. This research was conducted to see how self-regulated learning of future mathematics teachers in number theory courses. The research instruments used are questionnaires, the scale of self-regulated learning, and interviews. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The results of this study are that most students have a moderate level of learning independence. The aspects or indicators of learning independence that need special attention are setting learning goals/targets. Prospective teacher students need to continue to train and develop their learning independence to become professional teachers who continue to develop along with the times

    A preliminary study on the formulation of indicators and definitions of mathematical bitterness related to teacher treatment

    Teachers are responsible for helping students to understand and admire subjects, which means they need first to appreciate what is supposed to be taught. Meanwhile, some intern teachers detest several subjects due to the unpleasant treatment received from their tutors. This study intends to clarify the definition of mathematical bitterness and develop its indicators. The respondents were seven third-year students at Pelita Harapan University, Indonesia. Data were collected using questionnaires and interviews and analyzed through descriptive qualitative with a phenomenological approach. The results showed that the indicators of bitterness in mathematics sprang from the following, 1) having experienced unpleasant treatment from a mathematics teacher for a long time, 2) having a negative view of mathematics, 3) feeling untalented in mathematics, 4) viewing the mathematics teacher as unfriendly, 5) poor mathematics learning performance, and 6) having high mathematical anxiety. The proposed definition of bitterness is a negative perception of mathematics that is built from the accumulation of past experiences that affect the student’s response to this subject. Hence, further studies are needed to provide solutions that help to heal students of their math bitterness

    Mathematical problem-solving abilities need to be owned by prospective mathematics teachers so that they can teach it to their students later. Integral Calculus course is a course that students need to understand the next course, as well as a course that is closely related to school mathematics. This study aims to look at the significance difference in students’ problem-solving ability related to video learning implementation. The research design used was a nonequivalent control group design with the subject of 71 mathematics education students from two universities in Indonesia. The instrument used was a calculus prior knowledge test and mathematical problem-solving test, each of which consisted of 3 questions. Based on the statistical test, it was found that the mathematical problem-solving abilities of the two research groups differed significantly.     PENERAPAN METODE BERCERITA BAGI KEMAMPUAN NUMERASI SISWA USIA DINI DALAM PEMBELAJARAN TEMATIK [APPLICATION OF THE STORY METHOD FOR EARLY STUDENT NUMERATION ABILITY IN THEMATIC LEARNING]

    Based on the results of observations made at a Christian Kindergarten in Tangerang, it was found that there was an unevenness in the numeracy abilities of early-age students. Some students already have the ability to count numbers 1 and 3, but some others do not. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce numeracy skills by the teacher so that students have an even numeracy ability. The purpose of writing this scientific work is to describe the application of the storytelling method to the numeracy skills of early-age students in thematic learning. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research method. Based on the results of the discussion, it was found that the application of the storytelling method was carried out in six stage’s that were closely related to the introduction of numeracy skills, namely making preparations before learning, checking readiness and providing motivation to students, actively involving students, telling stories with attention to language, developing, and checking student understanding.  Through the application of the six stages of the storytelling method in thematic learning it can help teachers to assess and confirm the level of numeracy abilities of early age students. The next suggestion is to pay attention to various indicators of numeracy skills that have not been studied and to pay attention to the time allocation in teaching so that the effectiveness of the six stages of the storytelling method can be assessed. BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Berdasarkan hasil observasi yang dilakukan pada salah satu Taman Kanak-kanak Kristen di Tangerang ditemukan ketidakrataan kemampuan numerasi siswa usia dini. Beberapa siswa telah memiliki kemampuan membilang bilangan 1 dan 3 namun beberapa lainnya belum. Oleh sebab itu, diperlukan pengenalan kemampuan numerasi oleh guru agar siswa memiliki kemampuan numerasi yang merata. Tujuan penulisan karya ilmiah ini adalah memaparkan penerapan metode bercerita bagi kemampuan numerasi siswa usia dini dalam pembelajaran tematik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Berdasarkan pemaparan hasil pembahasan ditemukan penerapan metode bercerita dilakukan dalam enam tahapan yang berkaitan erat dengan pengenalan kemampuan numerasi yaitu melakukan persiapan sebelum pembelajaran, mengecek kesiapan dan memberikan motivasi kepada siswa, melibatkan siswa secara aktif, bercerita dengan memperhatikan bahasa, melakukan pengembangan, dan mengecek pemahaman siswa. Melalui penerapan keenam tahapan metode bercerita dalam pembelajaran tematik dapat membantu guru untuk menilai serta mengkonfirmasi tingkatan kemampuan numerasi siswa usia dini.  Adapun saran selanjutnya adalah memperhatikan berbagai indikator kemampuan numerasi yang belum dikaji serta memerhatikan alokasi waktu dalam melakukan pengajaran sehingga keenam tahapan metode bercerita dapat dinilai keefektifannya

    Navigating the Digital Wave of Learning : Indonesian Students’ Perceptions on Emotional during Learning Process

    This study aims to uncover students' perceptions of digital learning in terms of emotions. The study is conducted in the context of the post-pandemic era. The research used a cross-sectional design study with a qualitative approach. The research subjects consist of 112 students aged 18-24 years, distributed in several regions of Indonesia. The data were collected by using a Microsoft Forms questionnaire. Data analysis is carried out using a multi-stage process and pattern coding of responses. The findings of this study indicate the presence of themes related to both positive moments and emotional challenges experienced by students during digital learning. Based on these findings, this study suggests that lecturers should continue to practice recognizing students' contexts so that pedagogical strategies through the application of technology can be implemented to the fullest extent

    Based on observations of a grade 10 social studies-track 2 class, students appeared less active in learning. Many students in the class looked sleepy, were too embarrassed to ask questions, did not want to join in discussions with their friends, and were too lazy to do the tasks. This research aims to understand whether the Team Game Tournament (TGT) method can increase the activeness of students. The method of Classroom Action Research is the model Kemmis and McTaggart administered in two cycles. The research was done at a school in Makassar with 25 students from the grade 10 social studies-track 2 as research subjects. The data were collected using mentor observation sheets, students' questionnaires and reflection journals. The results of the analysis show that the students’ activeness in participation, students’ activeness in sharing opinions, and students’ activeness in listening and discussing have reached the standard of success and received a "good" minimum predicate with 68%, 72% and 92% respectively. Over all, the result of this research can be concluded that TGT method can improve student learning activity.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Hasil observasi dalam kelas menunjukkan bahwa siswa kelas X IPS 2 kurang aktif di dalam pembelajaran. Banyak siswa yang tidur-tiduran, malu bertanya, tidak mau berdiskusi dan malas mengerjakan soal-soal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah metode Team Game Tournament (TGT) dapat meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa dan langkah-langkah penerapan metode TGT yang dapat meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa. Penelitian tindakan kelas dengan model Kemmis dan McTaggart yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus  dilakukan di salah satu sekolah di Makassar dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas X IPS 2. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan instrumen lembar observasi, lembar angket dan jurnal refleksi. Hasil analisis menunjukan bahwa keaktifan siswa dalam berpastisipasi di dalam kegiatan pembelajaran, keaktifan siswa dalam mengajukan pendapatnya dan  keaktifan siswa dalam menjawab soal atau memecahkan soal mencapai standar keberhasilan dan mendapat predikat minimal “baik” dengan presentase secara berurutan yaitu 68%, 72% dan 92%. Hasil penelitian secara keseluruhan dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode TGT dapat meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa
