Influence of country and city images on studentsâ perception of host universities and their satisfaction with the assigned destination for their exchange programmes
ABSTRACT: This research focuses on the effect that country image, city image and university image has on studentsâ a priori satisfaction with the assigned destination for their international exchange programme (Bachelor and Master). In particular, this study establishes six hypotheses related to the causal relationships among the different typologies of image and their effects on studentsâ satisfaction with the assigned destination to study at least one semester in a host university. In order to contrast these hypotheses, a quantitative research was carried out in the Spanish city of Santander (Spain), by obtaining a sample of 245 international students who participated in an exchange programme at the University of Cantabria. The research findings are: (1) studentsâ satisfaction with the assigned destination is positively influenced by the university image; (2) the university image is positively influenced by the city image; and (3) the city image is positively influenced by the country image

Changes in the variability and periodicity of precipitation in Scotland
This paper analyses the temporal and spatial changes in the amount and variability of rainfall in Scotland. The
sequential MannâKendall test reveals that total annual precipitation has increased across Scotland since the 1970s with
increasing trends in variability beginning between the mid-1960s and the mid-1970s. Whilst temporally consistent
increasing trends in precipitation totals prevail in the West, many weather stations in the East have experienced
subsequent trend turning points in the following two decades, explaining the larger magnitude of the trends in western Scotland in recent decades. Trend analyses on six measures of rainfall variability indicate an increase in rainfall variability during the period 1961â2000, as measured by the intra-annual variance, the winter to summer precipitation ratio and the annual cumulative sum range, with decreasing trends observed in the number of dry days. Periodicities associated with
the North Atlantic Oscillation and the Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation could explain the observed temporal variability of
rainfall
Consumer adoption of Internet banking in Jordan: examining the role of hedonic motivation, habit, self-efficacy and trust
YesDespite the rapid growth of Internet banking (IB), customers in developing countries still hesitate to adopt this technology and its use in the Middle East remains low. This study aims to identify and examine the factors that predict behavioural intention and adoption of IB in Jordan. Four factors â hedonic motivation, habit, self-efficacy and trust â are proposed in a conceptual model. Data was collected by means of a survey with bank customers in Jordan. Structural equation modelling (SEM) was used to analyse the data. The results strongly supported the conceptual model. Further, hedonic motivation, habit, self-efficacy and trust were all confirmed to have a significant influence on behavioural intention. Trust was found to be strongly predicted by both hedonic motivation and self-efficacy. This study provides both academics and practitioners with an insight into the factors that can be used to encourage customer adoption of IB specifically in a Middle East context
