Management of Program Projects in Conditions of Unstable Development Teams

    Get PDF
Project management issues of teams with outsourced developers are discussed. Peculiarity of these teams is the difficulty of recruitment and, as a consequence, the instability of staff. We propose a special approach to overcome the issues in these circumstances. It is based on the use of a special role in the project team, called the personnel coordinator, who allows risk mitigating of project failure. The main result of the proposed work is the technique of tuning Highsmith’s Adaptive Software Development approach to the conditions of projects developed by the unstable team. Another important result is the definition of the functions of the personnel coordinator, which he/she must fulfill in the project

Le sublime, la surface picturale et les disparitions politiques

    Get PDF

Technogenic Zinc Usage Possibilities Investigation for Gold Cementation

    Get PDF
Industrial dusts with high zinc content are formed in nonferrous and ferrous metals metallurgy. Hydrometallurgical processing of such dusts can be used. In this case, alkaline solutions with high impurities content are formed. It is possible to produce zinc powder with different technological properties by electroextraction from mentioned alkaline solutions. This work describes investigation of zinc powders usage possibilities to gold cementation from cyanide solutions

Tool Support of Developing Systems Simulation with Active Elements

    Get PDF
A new approach to the simulation of developing systems is proposed and discussed. It is based on the idea on independent development of the so-called aspect models, whose interconnection is provided by tool computational environment. The main features of the approach are the abandonment of postulate of the deterministic behavior of systems if they are developed due to activity of elements and orientation parallel simulation event-driven elements behavior. We discuss their initial requirements of the tool support

The piriform, perirhinal, and entorhinal cortex in seizure generation.

Understanding neural network behavior is essential to shed light on epileptogenesis and seizure propagation. The interconnectivity and plasticity of mammalian limbic and neocortical brain regions provide the substrate for the hypersynchrony and hyperexcitability associated with seizure activity. Recurrent unprovoked seizures are the hallmark of epilepsy, and limbic epilepsy is the most common type of medically-intractable focal epilepsy in adolescents and adults that necessitates surgical evaluation. In this review, we describe the role and relationships among the piriform (PIRC), perirhinal (PRC), and entorhinal cortex (ERC) in seizure-generation and epilepsy. The inherent function, anatomy, and histological composition of these cortical regions are discussed. In addition, the neurotransmitters, intrinsic and extrinsic connections, and the interaction of these regions are described. Furthermore, we provide evidence based on clinical research and animal models that suggest that these cortical regions may act as key seizure-trigger zones and, even, epileptogenesis

The Automorphism Group of a Finite p-Group is Almost Always a p-Group

Many common finite p-groups admit automorphisms of order coprime to p, and when p is odd, it is reasonably difficult to find finite p-groups whose automorphism group is a p-group. Yet the goal of this paper is to prove that the automorphism group of a finite p-group is almost always a p-group. The asymptotics in our theorem involve fixing any two of the following parameters and letting the third go to infinity: the lower p-length, the number of generators, and p. The proof of this theorem depends on a variety of topics: counting subgroups of a p-group; analyzing the lower p-series of a free group via its connection with the free Lie algebra; counting submodules of a module via Hall polynomials; and using numerical estimates on Gaussian coefficients.Comment: 38 pages, to appear in the Journal of Algebra; improved references, changes in terminolog

The present study aimed to investigate the influence of combination of the synthetic antioxidant mexidolum (3-oxy-6-metyl-2-etyl-piridin succinatum) and antitumor drugs - 5-fluoruracilum and rubomycine on morphological characteristic of tumor. Studies were performed on rats with transplantable cholangiocellular RS-1 carcinoma. Histopathological methods were used for this investigation. Results showed that mexidolum (in doses 5 ,1 0 ,2 5 and 50 mg/kg) demonstrated antiangiogenic and antimitotic activity in experiment. Mexidolum increased tumor control 5-fluoruracilum and rubomycine treatment, but non enhance antiangiogenic efficacy studied antitumor drugs.

Abdominal tuberculosis continues to be a major public health problem worldwide and poses diagnostic and therapeutic challenges to general surgeons practicing in resource-limited countries. This study was conducted to describe the clinicopathological profile and outcome of surgical treatment of abdominal tuberculosis in our setting and compare with what is described in literature. A prospective descriptive study of patients who presented with abdominal tuberculosis was conducted at Bugando Medical Centre (BMC) in northwestern Tanzania from January 2006 to February 2012. Ethical approval to conduct the study was obtained from relevant authorities. Statistical data analysis was performed using SPSS version 17.0. Out of 256 patients enrolled in the study, males outnumbered females. The median age was 28 years (range = 16-68 years). The majority of patients (77.3%) had primary abdominal tuberculosis. A total of 127 (49.6%) patients presented with intestinal obstruction, 106 (41.4%) with peritonitis, 17 (6.6%) with abdominal masses and 6 (2.3%) patients with multiple fistulae in ano. Forty-eight (18.8%) patients were HIV positive. A total of 212 (82.8%) patients underwent surgical treatment for abdominal tuberculosis. Bands /adhesions (58.5%) were the most common operative findings. Ileo-caecal region was the most common bowel involved in 122 (57.5%) patients. Release of adhesions and bands was the most frequent surgical procedure performed in 58.5% of cases. Complication and mortality rates were 29.7% and 18.8% respectively. The overall median length of hospital stay was 32 days and was significantly longer in patients with complications (p < 0.001). Advanced age (age ≥ 65 years), co-morbid illness, late presentation, HIV positivity and CD4+ count < 200 cells/μl were statistically significantly associated with mortality (p < 0.0001). The follow up of patients were generally poor as only 37.5% of patients were available for follow up at twelve months after discharge. Abdominal tuberculosis constitutes a major public health problem in our environment and presents a diagnostic challenge requiring a high index of clinical suspicion. Early diagnosis, early anti-tuberculous therapy and surgical treatment of the associated complications are essential for survival
