    Implementation of Virtual Laboratory Media to Learning Geometry in Mathematics Education Program of Universitas PGRI Semarang

    Recently, the virtual laboratory is developing rapidly. One indicator is the number of Mathematics students both state and private Universities in Central Java who are looking for references related to practical geometry courses via online between lectures.  This raises concern as a lecturer in adding value to lectures, which are adapted to the 21st-century learning era today by creating virtual laboratories based on Virtual Reality. This research employed the ADDIE R & D model (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implementation and Evaluation) after the product is finished, the next step is implementing and marketing the product in state and private university in the region of Central Java and its surroundings. The consideration of creating the virtual lab is that the science virtual lab product has not been developed much in Indonesia, in fact, this lab is able to display virtual and augmented reality which can increase motivation and learning outcomes. Based on the validation of media and material experts on the virtual geometry lab product, the scores show that the virtual geometry lab product is very suitable for implementing and more than 90% of lecturers and students at the PGRI Semarang University are very happy to implement it

    Efektivitas Model Pembelajaran Project Based Learning Terintegrasi STEM Terhadap Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis Siswa SMP

    ABSTRAK Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) terintegrasi STEM terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa SMP. Metode dalam penelitian ini ialah kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian ini ialah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Bogorejo. Penerapan strategi purposive sampling diperoleh kelas eksperimen VIII.C dan kelas kontrol VIII.A. Post-tes dan kuesioner digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data. Uji t sampel independen (dua arah dan satu arah) dan uji regresi linier sederhana digunakan untuk analisis data. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan 1) keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa di kelas PjBL-STEM dan kelas PjBL berbeda, 2) keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa PjBL-STEM lebih unggul dari siswa PjBL, 3) berdasarkan persamaan regresi Ŷ = 6,996 + 0,841X, pengaruh pembelajaran PjBL-STEM memberikan dampak sebesar 75,5% terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Berpikir kritis (Y) meningkat sebesar 0,841 untuk setiap satuan model pembelajaran PjBL-STEM (X). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran PjBL terintegrasi STEM efektif dalam membantu siswa meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritisnya

    Mathematical Proving Ability of Pre-service Teachers in Online and Blended Learning

    Mathematical proving is an important ability to learn. However, mathematics pre-service teachers often find this skill difficult. This research aimed to describe the mathematical proving ability of mathematics pre-service teachers in an online classroom and in the blended classroom. A descriptive mixed methods approach was used. A mathematical proving test was used to collect the data. The results showed that the average score of mathematical proving ability from the blended classroom was 82.6 (categorized as high). Meanwhile, the average score of mathematics pre-service teachers in the online classroom was 65.4 (categorized as intermediate). Given these findings, there is a significant need to improve the mathematical proving ability of the mathematical preservice teachers in the online classroom by enhancing the conceptual understanding of group properties and ensuring the teachers are accustomed to practicing proving tasks.     Pengembangan E-modul Berbasis Problem based learning Untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Siswa SMP Materi Statistika

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengembangan e-modul problem based learning yang tepat dan praktis yang digunakan untuk keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa materi Statistika, dan mengetahui keefektifan e-modul problem based learning terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa SMP. Materi Statistik. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan metode ADDIE dengan desain Non-Equivalent Control Group. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa hasil validasi validasi e-modul menurut ahli yang meliputi validasi media 85,33 %, validasi materi 90%, validasi aspek PBL 88%, validasi aspek berpikir kritis sebesar 85%, dan validasi bahasa sebesar 86,67%. Dari hasil validasi secara keseluruhan, e-modul yang dikembangkan valid dengan kategori sangat baik. Nilai rata-rata angket respon siswa terhadap e-modul yang dikembangkan mencapai nilai 79,83%. Hal ini menunjukkan nilai 79,83% praktis digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Penggunaan bahan ajar e-modul berbasis Problem based learning efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran

    The Effectiveness of Problem-Based Learning with Model Eliciting Activities Approach towards Problem Solving Competency

    The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was a difference in the average score and the effectiveness of problem based learning with the mathematics model eliciting activities approach to problem solving ability. The type of study is a quantitative research with a quasi experimental design using a pretest-posttest only control group design. The population in this study was class VIII SMPN 5 Jepara in the academic year 2022/2023 which consist of two classes. The sampling technique was carried out by purposive sampling technique, class VIII A was the control class and class VIII B was the experimental class. The data obtained through the pretest and posttest values were then processed by normality test, homogeneity test, T-Test, and N-Gain. The results obtained from the T-Test is a problem based learning model with an approach model of bringing up mathematical activities with a number of respondents 32 students and a mean of 81.22. While the control class taught by conventional learning has 31 students as respondents and the mean is 71.65. The value of t_count = 6.011 and a significance level of 5% obtained t_table = 1.999. Based on the t value, it can be written t_table (5% = 1.999) < t_count (6.011), then the results of the data analysis can be said that  is rejected and   is accepted so that "there is a difference in the average problem-solving ability of students in class that uses the learning problem learning model raises students' mathematical activities. The next test is the N-Gain test. It is found that the experimental class mathematical problem solving is better than the control class, namely the increase in the experimental class has a medium category that is 0.47 and the increase in the control class has a low category that is 0.21 so that it can be said to be increasing and effective

    The study aims to describe the understanding of group concepts in prospective mathematics teacher with high mathematical abilities. This research is a descriptive qualitative research, with a research subject is a prospective mathematics teacher who have taken group theory courses. The subjects were selected according to the criteria of having high mathematical abilities based on mathematical ability tests, having good communication skills and being able to explain. Data collection was carried out through providing group concept understanding tests followed by interviews. Written tests and interviews were conducted twice for the purposes of triangulating data through time triangulation. Regarding to the discussion section, it can be summarized that subjects with high mathematical abilities can define and show a group fulfilling the traits in detail

    Improving Mathematical Critical Thinking Skill through STEM-PjBL: A Systematic Literature Review

    Critical thinking is one of the important competencies in the twenty-first century that should be acquired. Therefore, there is a need to facilitate the students with the teaching approach and learning model that could improve this skill. One of the learning approaches that provide the students with the opportunity to think creatively is STEM-PjBL. Therefore, the purpose of the study is to describe the application of STEM-PjBL able to increase the critical thinking skills of the student. The SLR or Systematic Literature Review method was chosen to present a comprehensive and balanced summary of primary research results. The literature review was conducted through Google Scholar, Crossref, and Scopus. From 100 works of literature, 15 articles showed that PjBL STEM learning was able to improve critical thinking skills. This study examined 15 articles that were analyzed based on research methods, and the findings revealed that the application of STEM-PjBL could enhance the critical thinking skills of the student with the literature review method. Based on the existing data collection, it is analyzed through case studies that are the subject of discussion. The findings of the study revealed that: 1) the use of STEM-PjBL had a positive and significant impact on the critical thinking skills of students in each educational unit, including primary school, secondary schools, and high school; 2) the use of STEM-PjBL can help students improve their mathematical critical thinking skills; 3)Â interpretation, analysis, inference, evaluation, explanation, and self-regulation are among the indicators recommended for use as a reference for students' mathematical critical thinking skills

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil pemecahan masalah etnomatematika pada materi geometri ditinjau dari kemampuan matematika siswa. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek yang di ambil adalah 3 siswa kelas VIII di SMP Purnama 3 Semarang semester genap tahun ajaran 2020/2021 yang masing – masing mempunyai kemampuan matematika tingi, kemampuan matematika sedang, dan kemampuan matematika rendah. Pengumpulan data yang dilakukan yaitu dengan tes kemampuan matematika, tes pemecahan masalah etnomatematia, dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan 3 tahapan yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan. Keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi metode yaitu membandingkan hasil tes pemecahan masalah etnomatematika dengan hasil wawancara. Analisis dikembangkan berdasarkan indikator kemampuan pemecahan masalah dengan memperhatikan kemampuan matematika siswa. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, etnomatematika dapat meningkatkan kemampuan matematika yang berdampak pada meningkatnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang dimiliki siswa. Hal ini dibuktikan bahwa subjek dengan kemampuan matematika tinggi juga memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah etnomatematika tinggi

    ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN COMPUTATIONAL THINKING SISWA PADA MATERI ALJABAR DITINJAU DARI PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIS

    Many students still have difficulty solving problems related to mathematics,&nbsp; one&nbsp; &nbsp;of&nbsp; &nbsp;which&nbsp; &nbsp;is&nbsp; &nbsp;algebraic material. Computational&nbsp;thinking is an ability needed to assist students in solving problems faced by students through abstraction, pattern recognition, decomposition, and algorithm skills. This study aims to describe the computational thinking abilities of IX grade junior high school students in solving mathematical problem solving. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive research. The time for conducting research is in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. The subjects taken were IX A grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Karangrayung. Using the problem- solving ability test, 2 students with high-level problem-solving abilities, 2 students with medium-level problem-solving abilities, and 2 students with low-level problem-solving abilities were selected using the problem-solving ability test. The data collection techniques used were problem solving ability tests, computational thinking ability tests, and interviews. Data analysis techniques were carried out in 3 stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusion. Data validity checking technique uses source triangulation. The results of this study show that students with high-level problem-solving skills are able to meet all indicators of computational thinking, students with medium- level problem-solving abilities are able to meet fulfill 3 of 4 computational thinking indicators, while students with low-level problem-solving skills are able to fulfill 2 of 4 computational thinking indicators
