Confidence and loyalty for agrotourism brands: the Lesvos paradigm

    Get PDF
It has been established that strong brands are important in the agrotourism industry. Agrotourism brands provide the link between visitors and the agrotourism firms and tourists may or may not develop a degree of loyalty to relevant brands. The present study suggests that confidence in an agrotourism brand has high influence in development of brand loyalty. Based on hypotheses developed, confidence in an agrotourism brand is influenced by brand characteristics, agrotourism company characteristics and visitor characteristics. The present survey took place in Greece and examined the attitudes of visitors in agrotourism firms at the island of Lesvos. Survey results demonstrate that agrotourism firm brand characteristics appear more important in their impact on a visitor’s confidence in a brand. It was also established that confidence in a brand is positively influencing loyalty. Recommendations are developed for agrotourism marketers in relation to building and maintaining visitor confidence in a brand

Educational robotics. The pleasure of participation

    Get PDF
The paper attempts to identify the pleasure and satisfaction of participating in educational robotic through an educational robotic program that takes place for children ages 9 to 15. The aim is also to identify, with the use of statistical comparisons, any signs of the relationship between pleasure and satisfaction with participation with characteristics such as the gender of learners, the age of learners and the level of parenting. The survey showed that the participants were satisfied with their participation in the program and did not feel tired or bored. Also from the research is obvious that through educational robotics children can learn to cooperate more effectively with each other, and the teaching of basic principles of computer science, mathematics, geometry, physics, engineering, and in general mechatronics can be more effective when it does not have the conventional form of education but it has the form of play. This work reflects the importance of a methodology for robotic train the trainer’s education program, through the aspects of teaching pedagogy, technology and the basic principles of robotics. To achieve this, a methodology is included that contains a sequence of educational processes and applications focused on modern training techniques. Learners are invited to attend a theoretical background of the program for two days (first weekend) with traditional training methods, and then for four weeks using e-learning techniques they study the material, interact with the teacher and submit their work for evaluation. Afterwards in the second weekend, the training is completed and the trainees are closing the program with a micro teaching example. Upon completion of the program, each trainee completes a short questionnaire from which his / her motivation to participate and his / her satisfaction from his / her participation arise. In the course of the survey, 85 trainees participated, and from the questionnaire\u27s work, the overwhelming majority is very satisfied, which highlights this methodology and determines it to be fully operational, reliable and efficient. Perception of service quality in agrotourism accommodations: Impact on guest loyalty and re-visit intentions

    Get PDF
This study presents the development of a conceptual economic model that demonstrates the dynamic nature of the relationship between service quality and guest satisfaction in the agrotourism accommodation sector, based on theories derived from social psychology and previous research in the marketing, management, and services literature. The model was tested using sample data from guests of four different agrotourism firms, and was modified because of empirical results. The final model improves understanding of the relationship between service quality and guest satisfaction because these constructs were examined from the process perspective of an agrotourism accommodation experience; it portrays service quality and satisfaction in the context of a complete system

The goal of the thesis is to explore the carrying capacity and the way it affects the sustainable development of the areas under the spectrum of the corruption of the public sector on tourism, a research gap that hasn't so far been covered by the international literature. Despite the fact that the corruption of individual public servants of issues regarding elections, its effect on the attraction of tourists, the competitiveness of the countries and the well being of the citizens has been underexplored, the current thesis seeks to explore the effect of the corruption on the sustainable tourism development indices of destinations. A theoretical model was developed which identified the causal relationships among corrupt practices, corrupt public servants and sustainable tourism development.Στόχος της διατριβής είναι να διερευνήσει την φέρουσα ικανότητα όπως αυτή επιδρά στην βιώσιμη ανάπτυξη των περιοχών αλλά υπό το πρίσμα της επίδρασης της διαφθοράς στον τουρισμό, ένα ερευνητικό κενό που δεν καλύπτεται με τη μέχρι στιγμής διαθέσιμη διεθνή βιβλιογραφία.
