Generalización de consultas web para protección de privacidad de usuarios

El trabajo propone estudiar la implementación de un mecanismo para generalizar consultas web que opere en modo local, es decir, que se instale en el lado del usuario. Para ello, se utilizará la herramienta Wordnet como base de conocimiento para la generalización de las consultas web, aunque de una forma reducida para no incurrir en problemas de espacio, almacenamiento o rendimiento en las búsquedas web. Se evaluará, junto a una serie de usuarios voluntarios, el rendimiento de la aplicación, la privacidad que los usuarios perciben, el consumo de CPU memoria y el tiempo de procesamiento, para determinar la viabilidad y funcionalidad de esta.In this project we propose to study the implementation of a tool that aims to generalize web search queries. This tool will operate locally, that is, on the user side. For this, the Wordnet tool will be used as a knowledge base for the generalization of web queries, although in a reduced way so as not to incur space, storage or performance problems in web searches. Organized crime, foreign investment and economic growth : the Latin American case

Latin America has been seen over the years as a violent region. Organized crime has been a major factor contributing to that perception. Crime not only makes daily life more dangerous for citizens of a country, but can even challenge the viability of governments. Crime fighting efforts drain state resources, threaten the delivery of public services, and might have a negative influence on institutional stability and business environment. The purpose of this paper is to extend the empirical framework of Bengoa and Sánchez-Robles (2002) to cover the relationship between organized crime, foreign direct investment (FDI) and growth. Distribució i grau d’invasió de la formiga argentina (Linepithema humile Mayr) (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) al Parc Natural de s’Albufera des Grau, Menorca (Illes Balears)

The Argentine ant is an exotic invasive species present in all the Mediterranean and subtropical ecosystems of the world. It is closely associated to urban and human-disturbed areas, even though it can also invade natural areas causing a strong negative effect in the biodiversity of the invaded area. In Menorca, the fist record of its presence was in 1976. In 2004 it was detected for the first time invading a natural area in the island, the s’Albufera des Grau Natural Park. The aim of this work is to determine both the distribution and degree of invasion of this species into the Park. To that effect, we sampled a total of 97 plots of 1 ha at 8 different areas across the Park. Of these, only 15 resulted invaded by the Argentine ant with different degrees of invasion. Additionally, we also detected 4 forefronts of invasion. Both the presence and degree of invasion into the s’Albufera des Grau Natural Park seems to be related to four factors: 1) degree of canopy cover, 2) proximity to urban or certain urban development areas, 3) degree of anthropic frequentness and 4) proximity to humid areas. Propuesta de plan de área para tres temas de undécimo grado

En este documento presentamos la propuesta de plan de área de matemáticas para la educación media. En primer lugar, presentamos algunas cuestiones generales sobre lo que está establecido en la normatividad colombiana en relación con el diseño y la planificación curricular. En segundo lugar, presentamos las ideas centrales de lo que entendemos por plan de área, sus funciones y sus usos. En tercer lugar, presentamos el marco conceptual desde el cual se construye la propuesta de plan de área. En cuarto lugar, presentamos el análisis de los estándares básicos de competencias sobre los cuales se basa la presente propuesta. La formiga argentina és una espècie exòtica invasora present a tots els ecosistemes mediterranis i subtropicals de tot el món. Es troba fortament lligada a zones urbanes o amb cert grau de pertorbació antròpica, tot i que també és capaç d’envaïr zones naturals causant una greu afectació a la biodiversitat de la zona envaïda. A Menorca, la primera cita de la seva presència data del 1976. Al 2004 se la va detectar per primera vegada envaïnt una zona natural a l’illa, el Parc Natural de s’Albufera des Grau. L’objectiu d’aquest estudi és el de determinar la distribució i grau d’invasió d’aquesta espècie al Parc. Es van mostrejar 97 parcel·les d’1 ha en 8 zones diferents del Parc. D’aquestes, tan sols 15 es van trobar envaïdes per la formiga argentina, mostrant diferents graus d’invasió. Així mateix també es van detectar 4 fronts d’invasió. La presència i grau d’afectació de la plaga al Parc de s’Albufera des Grau sembla estar vinculada a quatre factors: 1) grau de cobertura arbòria, 2) proximitat a zones urbanes o amb cert desenvolupament urbanístic, 3) grau de freqüentació antròpica i 4) proximitat a zones humides. Studying Neonates’ Language and Memory Capacities with Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy

The measurement of newborns’ brain hemodynamic activity has improved our understanding of early cognitive processes, in particular of language acquisition. In this paper, we describe two experimental protocols adapted to study neonates’ speech-processing capacities using functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS): the block design and the familiarization-recognition design. We review some of their benefits and disadvantages, and refer to research issues that can be explored by means of these protocols. We also illustrate the use of the two experimental designs through representative fNIRS studies that reveal specific patterns of activation of the newborn brain during speech perception, learning of repetition structures, and word recognition

Experiencias didácticas con videojuegos comerciales en las aulas españolas

En este artículo se presenta una recopilación de proyectos pedagógicos realizados en las aulas españolas, en los que se utilizaron videojuegos comerciales como recursos al servicio de los procesos de enseñanza - aprendizaje. Pretendemos identificar con qué finalidades educativas se usan estos videojuegos y, averiguar las características y resultados del trabajo escolar llevado a cabo con el alumnado. En definitiva, acercarnos al estado del arte de estas experiencias prácticas y aportar elementos para el debate sobre el uso de los videojuegos comerciales como materiales educativos.In this work a collection of educational projects done at spanish classrooms is provided. The main interest of these projects is the use of commercial video games as resources for teaching-learning processes. We will try to identify what were the educational purposes of these games and we will determine the characteristics and results of the school work done with students. The aim of this paper is to study the state of the art of these practical experiences and to analyze the use of commercial video games as educational materials
